All joking aside I appreciate the feedback 😂Speaking of feedback, I'm now on Discord! I hoping to build a community of fellow boaters/builders where we can chat, share ideas and more. Join here on Discord: discord.gg/eFazn7EYcE

There is a correct way but in this case whatever feels right for you. Great tips on the grease . My trailer is brand new but next trip up to my sons place i'll put some on.

You're not wrong! I'm glad to have it flipped around -- it was something I've been meaning to get to. Is yours a boat trailer or?

Man, all you had to do was turn the winch 180 deg…strap should be coming off the top and to retract the strap rotation should be toward the boat. Most painful thing to watch.

Apr 2023: I was looking for the detail on the shaft flip so the handle mates on the opposite side. Looks like you cut to that after editing. Maybe too much swearing was involved? LOL Regardless - seems like it would be a hot-button topic. Another person said fliip it 180. Might try that.

Yeah I ended up flipping it 180, the handle on this winch only mounted to the one side. Has been working like a charm since!
