First Pissyfun and now So-You-Gay - I'm convinced chinese manufacturers are just mocking us at this point lol
Deukio make some quality reels although I use only Daiwas.
Bought 2 for giant prawn fishing but upgrade to use for catfishing 1-3 kilos as the built quality is good . Normal size here. Although did catch alien Invader 15 kg African Catfish.
hahahahahahahaha
We-tu-low. Ho-Lee-Fook.
😆
LOL!
I bought a Sougayilang reel when I first got into fishing a couple years ago (not knowing better). It was normally 40$, marked down to $13 (insanely low). Not going to lie, it has performed very well for me for 2 years, fishing with it about once a week - it still performs well. Now that I am way more into fishing and know better, I own Shimanos and Daiwas lol, but I never hated my Sougayilang or felt like it was junk. I still have it on my cheap ugly stik gx2 medium light and it holds up well enough, even with a 5 lb bass on the line.
I got one in a lot of 10 reels off of Ebay a few months back and have used it about half a dozen times just to try it out before selling it and I ended up keeping it for my kids it worked just fine for pond fishing or on the river bank
They are actually not bad reels. Some of them are better than others. This one he is destroying is the one everyone wants to mess with. I have 2 of the models with the honeycomb spools. (Xy1000 I believe)I'm selling some tackle today to friends who wannaget into fishing . My Sougayilang and Kastking rods/reels are not going anywhere. I know for a fact I have a Sougayilang BFS rod that worth way more than I paid. I don't think shimano or Diawa makes anything like it. I have a Kastking Perigee ultralight rod that should be here tomorrow. I'm sure it will be nice. 90% of everything fishing is made in China. Shimano and Daiwa has a few select things made in Japan. It's all a matter of quality control.
I only care about how many ball bearings it has, everybody knows that is the definition of high end reels. 😛
Nope. If it has shit ball bearings it stays shit. 🤣
More bearings is not better. Sorry.
@@Sweetaccord if you have been following tackle advisor for a long time you all would know that its a myth he has been trying to dispel for a long time. I was making that statement as a joke that he would understand.
@@tamalpias Yes but others who come accross this channel for the first time would not know and take that seriously. 😊
I get what you mean LOL!
DAMN! and I just got me a vanford too when I could have gotten this!
If it doesnt rust, if it has greese inside, if it can take 5 kg fish, i'll take it
Thank you for the mentioning of hand cancer awareness!
That first minute of dialogue made me so happy. God damn I love this channel.
Chinese: Sou Ga Yilang
English: So you Gay Iran
the quantum optix 30 is the best 30$ reel out there. had one for 10 years. still spins and catches 5 pound bass
That is the truth I have a few of them and that are great for the price you can't beat them👍
I have a 13 fishing concept tx 2.0 spinning reel that I've beat to hell and back with one dunk lasting over 40 min in the surf until I stepped on it later that hour and found it, still works. Have put an insane beating on this reel I'd love to see you tear it down and see what's heald up and what's not
Dude legit get a red abu garcia bait caster combo those things will catch black drums all do while you take phone calls
I have three of these. Telescopic combos. They are very sturdy and well made. The Rod and Reel has no problem with big catfish what so ever.
They forgot to add : METALLIC magnesium COLOR
I've had a lot of Sougayilang reels in the past, and still do. They have always performed well, and much better than any US reel of similar price. I have had a LOT of garbage from the US (made in china AND USA) that have broken very quickly.
Magnesium Alloy does in fact become that glowing, lava like material your speaking of. I can't speak about 100% magnesium but the alloy mixture that asphalt rake heads are made out of behave like nothing I've experienced before when they finally ignite. It looks bright like an arc welder, flows like lava & is extremely difficult to cool off & extinguish. My 1st day working on a paving crew I was asked to use propane jet torch to clean the tools off. I tossed them into a wheel barrow & used jet torch (which is as cool the name suggest) to heat them up to the point the asphalt would become soft enough to scrape off. Being the forward thinker I was at 19, I wanted to skip the scraping part & burn it off. Well when those rake heads ignited, I knew it was problem when the molten magnesium melted through the wheel barrow so like an idiot I grabbed the only liquid that I had that was already in a bucket (diesel fuel) made the problem 10x's worse. 20 yrs later working for the same company I have yet to see a rookie that possesses my forward thinking ability like I had...
Not suitable for saltwater use. That's the weakness about Magnesium
Their autocorrect “fixed” Chinesium.
The best EVER under $30 reel I've ever seen and purchased is the Okuma Epixor XT. But literally two weeks later it was $20 more. I should've bought one in every size.
It’s a great reel in fresh I had one get trashed on a bluefish
There went one of the few decent channels on gear. Glad you found your calling BUT damn sure going to miss the content.

Please do a review on the new Stradic SW. Would really appreciate it. Love the vids
Elvis has left the building
all in all if your using it for small stuff in fresh water it should last. even salt water if you grease and oil now and then
They meant magnesium color!
Haaaaaaaaaaa
i have several kastking reels and several shimano. From both companies top reels to their low ends. and Kasking is the smoothest of them in both realms. come out from amazon out of the box with much higher grade drag systems. this brand you review here i have as well. really smooth as well. drag system isnt much but same oil felt drag washers shimanos $100 reels offer. frames maybe sturdier but or something but for the money not that much difference. Especially in comparing shimano and to kastking!! kastking i will vouge for is legit, especially for the money. shimano gears are sturdier i assume with the hagane gears definitely, but reel performance and smoothness out of the box with way more advance drag systems than shimano and the like... kastking is a much better value all and all. You get same quality performance out of $50 kastking if not more, then a $100 shimano at least. put a KK sharky III up to a shimano nasci....
Yeah.... No... Not even close.... Ask guys that fish them hard... Friend of mine was sponsored by them and needed 18 replacements in a year... Their an Oem.. Nothing more. They aren't a manufacturer.
@@TackleAdvisors then why is shimano not that smooth strait out of the box? I just sent a shimano Sedona 500fi back because it had a grinding noise right out of the box. Even tried adding oil and grease. Only helped slightly. Got a piscifun viper x 500 at the same time. Considerably smoother right out of the box. Carbon drag washer. Sedona oil felt, with barely 7lb drag force. Viper x 8.8lb of drag pressure... big guys are letting me down a little. Waiting on my Sedona replacement now.
@@TackleAdvisors I’ll give it to you though sougayilang is basically junk. They may work for a season at best but they will fail and corrode.
Hey Mr, Tackle Adv, no more vids on the Tube??? Long time no see 👀👀👀👀
Waiting for a review on the new Caldia
you know what... I don't do the chinesium reels, but I really am curious about that Piscifun Alijoz or Alijos.... big lexa sized high speed "saltwater" full aluminum body baitcaster, with a big powerhandle. It could be a decent budget musky reel. I've heard good things, but your opinion on these matters is the only one I can take seriously. Maybe I'll just buy the big lexa.... but I can't say that I'm not curious. Anyway, keep up the good work.
Special video Request for Mr Tackle Advisor! With the current market situation/price hikes of current reels. Well in South Africa where I reside at least the prices are sky rocketing and the 2nd hand market is selling at previous retail price. I have been looking at purchasing higher end/previous generation shimano reels, chronarch and up. I'd love to see tear downs and comparisons between for instance a chronarch D vs chronarch E vs the current models. As well as something like the aldeberan mg7 vs the newest aldeberan. I want to collect older generation reels as a hobby but would also intend on using them. If this is in your means or interest It would be much appreciated. Thanks. Keep up the awesome/thorough reviews. Your channel is my go to for future purchase advice/research.
That was fun! Thanks for keeping all the manufacturers honest!
Hi! do you know if the Daiwa Fuego, Legalis and Exceller use the same gear? Are the Fuego the same reel that the exceler with one more ball bearing and magsealed?
Thanks for the info!
yes
Oh boy this should be a good one, always wonder about how bad some of these chinesium reels can be (sorry, I mean “magnesium”) Also, I was wondering where you get your upgraded brass gears for the newer Metanium DC? Thanks man!
I don't use many reels other than shimano, but review a pflueger president xt. For $85 I think it is a pretty solid contender for the freshwater
Having both, the Daiwa Exceler is a much better reel.
I have 4 Pflueger Supreme XT's. My less expensive Diawa's are better. I have a few Presidents and one Templar. I like the Templar better than the Presidents. I like all my Pfluegers, but after using Daiwa, it's clear to me they make a better reel even at lower price points. Scheels branded Daiwa reels are even a better value for the money. I haven't really been able to use it a lot, but the Ryobi Aotaka XP appears excellent and has a screw in handle. I bought them on sale for $37 which is a ridiculous value. Reminds me of my Exceler which in imo is noticeably better than the Presidents.
Lol, throw little magnesium powder in with your graphite polymer mix and call it magnesium body.
Do the new KastKing Kaplan Elite spinning reel with claimed IPX6 100% waterproof rating. It sounded real promising but we all are skeptical until you get a complete review on it! Can’t wait 😜
My last comment did not include the most important fact about fraudulently advertised Chinese reels. They almost never come with instructions. I have however received them with instruction by mistake. Sometimes it is the reel in question with printed instructions and you can simply count the number of bearing on the diagram. Sometimes it is instructions for a different reel. Most of the time they'll print the schematics on one of the box flaps which is usually too small to read
Without a doubt, you were a comedian in a former life! That’s a compliment. Now if you can do another sheeshamo reel review, the one with the 12 ball bearings in the handle, that would be awesome. Still laughing 3 years later!
The one I find interesting is the 2021 Daiwa Legalis LT. Supposed to be available in April. Same weight and bearing count as the fuego for $70. line capacity is also the same
It’s SUPER light and smooth
The Pflueger Supreme is magnesium. I have four of them. When they launched it about 15 years ago the price was under $100. I think it's a bit over now. They are nice, quality reels though. Just don't use them for salt.
They are a good reel my son has one. I have Supreme XT's and my Diawa Exceler for almost half the money imo is a better reel.
Looks better inside than a pen pursuit, at least it has a line roller bearing
There’s a version of this reel with a screw-in handle main gears. Great for freshwater use
What would be your top 2 spinning reel picks up $100 that are known for being the most durable and last the longest
Scheels Outfitters Guide made by Daiwa. Any of the Scheels branded reels are a great value
Sure would like to see a Lexa HD 300 hsp drag. Just got mine and will not tighten down. Brand new 30lb braid added. So I don’t want to send this back if I can fix it. Thanks
I completed the series and bought a 3000 and they do have 13+1 BB's. Unfortunately you need to buy 3 reels to find the 13+1
Haaaaaa
Hey love the videos!!! How come u stopped doing uploads??
I was wondering what do you think is better a battle 3 or a diawa fuego??
Also they just came out with the new pen authority I would love to see how that compare to the vaan staals
What do you think is the best rod for jigging for my Daiwa bg 8000
depends on the class of fish you're targeting...and lbs of drag you plan on fishing at. In the states...Black hole makes some good stuff. I fish at 15 to 22lbs of drag....Lots of rods are good pullers...50 to 150lb fish are the range I usually run into. The Trevala xxh 5'8 is good to about 16lbs ish...Come to think of it..i can't recall a bad tuna jigging rod....I used a ton of different ones in the 08-13 time frame.....settled down a bit since.
@@TackleAdvisors ok ill take notes. What do you think about the Daiwa eliminator boat rods. I'll be jigging for tuna and rockfish.
I hear all the good things about the Vanford. Would love to see your review
vanford not like stradic ci4 have flex in the body....when flex u know what happen to gear......back then we have choice for light jigging reel...now vanford only confined into freshwater fishing.....stupid shimano malaysia when we need the 2020 twinpower they cant supply the demand locally....but when the new 2021 TP and TPSW model announced there is flood of 2020 TP here....end user know, and will wait for newer model to enter.....
I have two vanfords. I fish inshore with them. They dont flex any more than my ci4 reels do but more than my stradic fl (obviously). They are feather light and smooth as silk. The MGL rotor is really noticeable which is more than I can say for most of the marketing buzzwords used on these things.
@@ikashibimauler which would you prefer the vanford or the stradic fl?
I think the FL is smoother than the Vanford, which is crazy since both reels share the same pinion and main gear part numbers in the same sizes. I have upgraded a lot of reels over the last 12mths and there has been a lot of variances in smoothness. I got a 4000 FL which felt geary from the box and a 5000 FL that was butter.
@@brendanspencer2550 Vanford. They are both great, but if you are choosing between the two, the vanford reels are something special. I do notice the MGL rotor all the time when I switch between them while fishing. If you like the ci4+ stradic the vanford is a straight performance upgrade.
have you ever reviewed the daiwa morethan spinning reel?
No I have not.. Do they have a current model? Or still from a few years ago
@@TackleAdvisors someone gifted me a 2017 MORETHAN 3012H and I don't know too much about it. Seems pretty expensive for something this small but it's pretty smooth though. I'm afraid to open it up though as I don't know my way around a reel enough to do a tear down.
Plse do a review about bait runner spinning reels. Thank you.
😁 WOW This reel looks Identical to the enigma Valkyrie $59.00 spinning reel that was crap that I shown on my channel!! I bet they make it for them!
take a look at brand like seaknight, gtech, seahawk, bullzen if you want cheap and quality reel, some of them rival those big company and even out class them in terms of price per quality.
Try Deukio brand. I got a shock of its built quality !
@@rohzpopper4922 yeah i know that brand but the reel line up is not as solid as i mention above.
Is magnesium a color ?
If I'm going to buy a sub $50 reel its Pflueger President. Sub 100 then i go to daiwa BG or Fuego. spheros or cedros under 150. saltist around the 200 price point and slammer after 250.
I was watching a review about a reel called Maguro Zander 4000 which sells at a extremely low price also and as far as my Indonesian language skills go it looked like a decent reel for the price. Not sure if they ship to USA though.
I likes me nice reels I just never cared for magnesium. Aluminium is just fine. Cant say I need an Exist over a Certate or a Steez over the new Zillion, I do however wish it was made in Japan.
Fiblink sapphire 9 foot is the best spinning rod 50$ can buy. Amazon comes thru from time to time.
You ever heard of black carbon on Spinning reel frame change color or oxidize?
I've been watching your teardowns for some time now. It is great to actually see what is behind all the hype that reel manufacturers spin. Pun intended. I've got one question. We keep hearing about hydrophobic coatings on reel parts. I have lots of spray bottles of water repellant for my raincoats etc. Will this help to spray a reel with this stuff? Keep up the good work.
I was watching one of your older videos it was a lure unboxing but in it you mentioned bkk hooks. I looked them up and got some worm hooks and some raptor treble. I usually use owner but these bkk seem Even better.
Seriously.. They are incredible hooks
Hey man and thanks for all the informative videos in the past.
I've to questions and hope u have an answer.
1) Do u mark the gears -pinion to maingear. (eccentric gear) before open them ?
I've had some troubles with opening spinning reels which were fished 3-4 Years without maintenance, i lubricated them, assembled them but the they feel really "geary".
Any advice/experience?
2) I've seen ur video polishing bc's. I liked it and i want to try it on my spinner.
Any experience with that?
Thanks for helping, i've learned a lot from you the past few years.
Regards Justus
I don't index my gears... Unless they start getting geary... Not really an issue for me anymore since I go through so many reels. You could if you want.. It's actually beneficial as it maintains the same wear pattern...
I've polished spinning reel gears and found zero benefits.. Even worm drive gears on spinners... Just for the hell of it.. Not worth the time
Can you disassemble the daiwa bg rr... Thanks
Can you review the Walmart Xfinity Lew's Combo🤔
More videos! Yours are really great and I would like to see more fishing vids too ;)
Good work!
What is line lay like on this reel?
I know it’s not a question about this reel but do you have any megabass reels lauda 58r if you do what do you think about them are the same thing as the Daiwa air custom stream
I've got $150 budget, fish for blue catfish up to 90lbs & 80ft water. Looking for the best spinning reel in that price range, thinking 60/65 size. What would you recommend either new or used
Quantum Optix 60 on a Berkeley big game rod will catch you all the catfish you want for $50ish combined.
I would like you to review the ming yang reel
They arent good for fish over 20 pounds from my experience.
Mings /omotos / akios / abu... All very good
@@TackleAdvisors 🤣🤣🤣🤣
hello.good video .how i can get ball bearing magsealed daiwa magnetic .i need to purchase
This company (however u pronounce it) doesn't seem to care about false advertising.
They have a baitcaster that was listed as a dual braking model with carbon fiber drag and actually only had magnetic brakes and some cheap drag washers. I contacted the company via aliexpress and they said if you don't like it sent it back and never updated the listing. They seem to have no problem with exaggerating or lying to consumers.
Had you done complete opening on the 2019 shimano antares a?
@Tackleadvisor have you heard anything good or bad about the penn fathom lowprofile?
The pflueger supreme is a magnesium frame reel for $100 . Back in the day they were nice but these days that reel is problematic and their customer service sucks.
What camera/lighting/audio combo do you use to shoot these vids??
Do you troubleshoot or repair? I think I've talk to you on FB a few times. Reel in question is a Shimano Calcutta Conquest 51s jdm. Aftermarket spool ticks on retrieve only with load.please let me know don't really want to sell it.

Chinese reels are getting better and better. I see a huge difference, in Chinese reels produced today, than those made 15 years ago.
i have one of these reels and they're really not that bad
Chinese reels are good for that price like kastking sharky III or tsurinoya jaguar
Hahaha this is what I’ve been waiting for. This is fun 😂😂😂
Speaking of best $50 reels. Is the
Shimano Nexave based on the same platform as the Lew's Speed Spin G2 that was the same price? Are these reels based on the same platform from the same OEM? I noticed many of the reels with the same shape but with different paint jobs, or different rotors.
Gonna say no. Tore down the nexave a little while ago. It's basic shimano
@@TackleAdvisors Thank you for the response. I have another Shimano question if you don't mind. What are your thoughts on the upcoming Miravel. For the price and specs it seems like a NASCI with a MGL rotor.
Now im kinda currious on what your verdict will going to be if you by any chance review a Cadence spinning reel
On 2:03 that exact same spot except I have a diawa saltiga 2020 14000XH instead. Between the bail and rotor, as I try to squeeze the bail, I found it is not rigid. I try to tight the screw that attached to the bail and rotor, it is still won't fix it especially on the opposite side of the line roller bearing. Is this normal for $1000 reel?
There should be a bit of a gap... Slight.. That way it doesn't bind up or grind with debris and what not... If that's what your seeing and questioning
@@TackleAdvisors thank you for your reply. As Yes I squeeze screw on the side that has line roller bearing with and rotor, it is fully rigid. But as I squeeze the screw on the opposite site of line roller bearing with bail and rotor, I can feel it is not rigid. I thought my reel is defect some something like that. Especially for $1000 reel, it is just not fully firm.
I've got a idea for a video for you. I would really be interested in seeing a breakdown of where KastKing, Picifun, 13 Concept, Lew's and for that matter pretty much all fishing reels are manufactured. I've been Googling and it appears that most of them are manufactured by companies in Korea or China. 13 Concepts is claiming that they are manufactured in Clearwater Florida which I highly doubt. If you can do like break down for each brand where it comes from and who manufactures it that would be very interesting in my opinion, you may have already done it but I don't know. I know that there are companies like Doyo, Yonh Huang, Dawon, Kaito making most of the reels but I would like to have some definitive input. Most of my baitcasters are Shimano and my spinning reels are Daiwa because I know they make their own stuff! 😁👌
Why did you stop doing reel reviews on RUclips?
What under reels under $100 would you recommend for a freshwater guy that wants long lasting quality and good performance?
What do you fish for?
