He may like the Indo Mie Mi Goreng hot and spicy stir fry noodles. There's no liquid in the end product, but there's seasoning and sauces that are soaked up by the noodles.
Nongshim Soon ramen is the best vegan ramen. They make all kinds of ramen, so you have to make sure you buy the one with "vegan" on the label, but they are by far the best. They make several vegan flavors that are very good. They are available in Asian grocery stores, Kroger (or whatever version they have where you are), Amazon, and many other stores. I don't know if you have an H Mart near you, but they usually have them. They are also cheaper than most other vegan ramen packets and they are the same price as their other ramen flavors.
I have tried quite a few of these. One of my favorites, which you did not cover but until recently was easily available from our local Kroger Grocery stores, is Nongshim Soon Veggie Cup Noodle Soup. It is only a little over a dollar per serving. It comes in other vegan flavors as well but those are even harder to find in my area. I like Ramen as a soup but when I make a big pot and have leftovers and the noodles absorb all of the broth and get extra swoll I like that too. Nissan Top Ramen soy sauce flavor is also pretty good and quite cheap. I have been curious about the Public Goods Ramen and various other direct to consumer Ramen products I have seen advertised lately.
Y’all crack me up! I love your commentary on your videos! The commentary alone is worth watching you!! Love all your videos. Thanks for the laughs and the info!
I've never been into store-bought ramen noodles but I am totally into your videos so I am not complaining about this one :D Thank you so much for testing these for us and simply making it fun! . Stay safe and have a great rest of the week! Sending you lots and lots of love!
I like mine the same way Andrew does. I like it in a more pasta type of texture not so soup like. I want to taste the flavors more in the pasta than the broth. I feel like the broth dilutes the flavor too much for me.
I guess I would like just the noodles better depending if it was like a meal like ramen noodles with mushrooms and sprouts or something or if it was soup and I was planning on having soup then soup with ramen noodles in it is also delicious
I personally do not like ramen broth, so I always just want the noodles! I cook my ramen exactly how Andrew described! The noodles absorb all the broth
Kind of a longer comment here - I have tried the Lotus Foods Jade Pearl Rice Ramen Wakame Miso Soup. I do NOT like seaweed BUT I like the green colored noodles... so I cook them with a touch of No-Chicken Broth and maybe I add my own miso or even bulk up my own broth with garlic powder whatever. I actually throw away the seasoning packet in nearly every ramen convenience package I buy and make a healthier broth anyway. The green noodles are rice based with bamboo for green color. It is so fun/pretty to cook them, drain off broth and cool for salads, Buddha bowls, or one of the colorful fillings for a rice based wrap, etc. They also make a Forbidden Rice one and the noodles look black but cook out to be a pretty purple from the black colored forbidden rice. I toss that spice package too. Lotus also sells those noodles 'squares' in packs of 4 or 5 without the broth packets but I can not always find those in the stores. This was just a tip about using the noodles in other ways and I know some folks (thinking of Andrew here...*chuckle*) would not like the idea of buying something only to throw away part of it. But when I can not find the noodles by themselves that is what I do.
First, I'm with Team Andrew with regard to how noodles are prepared. My preference is that foods not drip while eating. For those who love soups and broths, perhaps its not objectionable. For me, even when I do eat soup, my preference is for a thicker consistency. With regard to ramen specifically, I've always found that the seasoning packets were loaded with salt and MSG. During those rare occasions when I've prepared ramen I've discarded the flavor packets and created my own, sans the MSG and less salt.
Indomie mi goreng is my all time favorite (even pre-vegan) & the GOAT of instant noodles - it would definitely be right up Andrew’s alley since it’s a dry noodle. Nongshim recently made a vegan version of their popular spicy Shin ramen that is a close second for me.
I really love indomie noodles but I always go for top ramen chili flavor if I want something cheaper. I like them without any broth or liquid still in the bowl.
Growing up I would eat my ramen “bone dry” but now I actually like the broth - just not too much that the noodles are swimming. Y’all are so fun to watch. The best line of the video - “Who’s Tom”? 😆
I like the Lotus brand instant ramen and it's gluten-free too (which means I can eat it even with allergies). I usually use the Samabila seasoning instead of the one that comes with the packet. I like the Korean-style Beef Ramen they sell, and it's vegan too. I like Ocean's Halo Seaweed Snacks.
Your Family is blessed!!!!!! I have to use a measuring cup to measure the water I'm supposed to use. Or I put it right above the noodles because I don't like for it to be too watery because I want to get the full flavor of the broth. I get upset if I weaken the broth and then I got to fix it. What if I'm out and can't fix it, anyways. Little water at first then add a little more if the broth is good. Anyways I love YOUR channel!!!!!!!!!
I grew up eating ramen raw (yes, as in uncooked) as a snack. If I ever ate it cooked, I never did the broth. I never read the directions because I just "learned" how to cook ramen from my older siblings. I actually did not know that ramen was supposed to be in a broth until after college, when I began working with Japanese -- and I finally read the directions, haha. That's also when I discovered soba (much better, imo, and I thus no longer eat ramen). I still cook ramen for my hub, always sans broth. I usually reserve the flavor packets (from the top ramen soy sauce flavored) for sprinkling on veggies. I highly recommend pan frying ramen (that's been softened, like in a 30-min water soak, and then drained) & then adding ½ jar (or a full jar, depending on how much ramen youre using) that the flavor packet (or packets) has been mixed into. I say it's a "ramen omelette" (but there could be another word for it -- I just came up with it years back, though I'm sure others have cooked similar before).
Burger King in Leicester Square (in London next to Piccadilly Circus) is completely vegan until the 10th April 2022! If there was ever a time to drop everything and run to London, this is it! :D
I love lotus rice ramen. You can buy the noodles without the soup. I make my own broth. Also my boyfriend drains his soup too. It drives me crazy. That’s the flavor 😂😂 y’all crazy soup drainers hahaha 💕
Oh man the soy sauce Top Ramen took me back to high school. Also, if you do more taste tests these are my recommendations: Muso Organics - Miso and Shoyu* are the flavors they have. This ramen is in a light brown packet and says vegan right on the front. I get it at Wegmans, but I think it’s at some WholeFoods as well. On the pricey side but it’s a big serving. Koyo Ramen makes really good noodles and they have a bunch of different flavors. As far as I’m aware their entire line is vegan. I get it from a local grocery store chain, but it’s available in select Walmarts and WholeFoods. Sun Noodle Ramen Kit - has different flavors, but I know the miso and shoyu kind are vegan. It’s not an instant ramen - in fact it’s found in the refrigerator/freezer sections at WholeFoods or Wegmans - but it’s really good. The noodles have a slight eggy taste, but it’s just baking soda. I’ve made homemade noodles in the past with baking soda and I was surprised that it tasted that way. I can assure you their noodles are vegan, even if it doesn’t seem like it. *Shoyu = Japanese soy sauce
Broth? I enjoy the broth but I don't tend to drink most of it depending on which company I selected (with rice ramen, or lower sodium options I will make an exception). Mike's Mighty Good Veggie Ramen is my current favorite option, but surprisingly I found their vegan tofu version underwhelming.
Ok shockingly I’m with Andrew on this one. I’ve always prepared them by cooking the noodles and draining 95% of the water and sprinkling a portion of the seasoning packet on them. Technically it’s a version of “dry noodles” even though they are moist. The difference is they aren’t SOUP Noodles. That’s also why you can’t use the whole seasoning packet that comes with a soup noodle (ramen typically is soup) because it’s meant for all the broth. Lo mein is a dry noodle. Ramen is a soup noodle. I’m 100% dry noodle and will NEVER slurp, even if I’m visiting a country where it’s ok. It’s not ok with me lol.
Half and half. I don't like a shootout unless I buy bok choy in it. I don't like it dry. It's very good chili flakes and red hot pepper. Love the spicy
It honestly depends on my mood if I want just the noodles or the noodles with the broth. I really like Rice Ramen because I find the noodles are a little thinner then other brands and easier to slurp. I think I just really like thin noodles and pasta in general. Hot dishes sounds really weird to me not gonna lie 😂
Ok, oceans halo chicken flavor is my favorite But you do have to doctor it up hood style, ok. I add more water than recommended, because of the fact that the noodles soak up a lot of the water. 2. Throw some vegan butter in that thang, ok!! 3. I add black pepper, garlic and onion powder, & paprika. And boom! Chefs kiss! 😂😂
I personally like rice ramen. I think you didn't like ot because you used the cup version, cup versions and packet versions taste vastly different. You have to cook them longer and to your liking

I love one called "Mike's Mighty Good" vegetarian kimchi ramen. There may be something hidden non-vegan in there, but it is so good! I make it juicy and pimp it up with some tofu and veggies. Then top with a tad of tahini to make it creamy. It's so tasty, spicy with "clean" ingredients and just perfect. Please do not tell me if this is NOT vegan. I just bought 3 dozen pkgs online, you can tell me after I finish them.
@@MakeItDairyFree Thanks! I didn't expect big RUclips stars like yourselves to take a look (sorta tongue in check-but kinda not😉) . But this brand is quite tasty, and so glad it's vegan!!
I've had the Dr McDougall ones and I do like it most ramen instant ramen however is way too salty I want to say I don't like the packet if it comes with a flavor packet I usually throw that right in the trash and just do the noodles plain LOL
I separate my noodles as fast as I can , and then eat some noodles and drink the broth right after. So that the noodles don’t get soggy and the broth doesn’t get cold. I do it all wrong.
My husband always gets the Shin's "gourmet spicy" ramen, but you have to triple check the ingredients 'cause some times it has beef broth and sometimes it doesn't even though the packaging is exactly the same. 😣 I prefer making my own loaded miso ramen at home, I just wish there was a fish-free Better Than Bouillon.
the one with the creepy old man's face on it, it seems to have changed and I've been trying to wrap my mind if it was a similar brand that I was mistaking it for, or if ithey truly changed something cuz it has a horrible after taste to it
Your reaction to the seaweed noodles was my reaction to the crispy seaweed snacks from I believe the same brand. I said it was like I licked a dirty fish tank. So gross.
