this is a fantastic video ! I would say one of the top on you tube , lots of little tricks . one question tho is balancing the tire really that necessary as it is a very small. ?

Hi Luke, thanks for watching. about the tire balancing part the answer is absolutely yes. as you can see in the video the amount of variation with the unbalanced tire, now imagine this is going at 70 mph, you don't even have to get up to that speed to have too much vibration which will result in lose of traction and control.

I've always wondered... how are pre-mounted wheel/tyre sets made without the need to balance them with weights/putty? All my RTR's wheels and Pro-Line pre-mounted wheels don't have balance weights on them and they're perfectly balanced. How is this achieved?

Every try thinner glue? It runs better, thusly gluing the tire to the rim equally. Plus, easier = prettier! Just a thought...

The wheel balance portion was very eve opening bro! Wow. When you glued, could you not just wipe off the excess off the outside? Before it dried?

I did put in too much in the video but don't ever try to wipe the excess coz they will only get real messy.

One thing if you get big drops like that take a toothpick (wood) and blunt it than go around rim with a little pressure and it will suck up some excess glue and straighten out your beads

Where did you get that balancing stand? Or is it part of a different r/c car?

thanks for watching. my balancer was made using used spare part from a slash 2wd. you can easily find one online by search "rc tire balancer" they run about 30-50 dollars.
