I was gonna say give him a C, a bouncy C!!!
Good thing they cut the bit but not the setup. Once you’ve had the clip intro’d you hardly need to see it, because you’ve already been told about it.
At the end of the clip you can tell that Martin has already decided to leave SNL which he did!

The biggest mistake NBC made at that time was not bringing back at least Short and Billy Crystal for the Fall '85 season.
It may not have been NBC's call but instead Marty's and Billy's decision -- one season was enough for them.
