Foil Drive is an incredible tool for beginners and especially paired with the Armstrong S1 foils. My personal experience during demos is that even people that never foiled before were able to experience the flight within the first 30 min of practice
It is easy to efoil but don't be fooled to get to where Matt is at, confident pop up and pump will take dozens of hours. People mostly don't go for FD to efoil on it I think more material needs to be made available on how to progress from efoil to pump, surf waves, downwind etc instead we get videos of pros doing it making it look very easy.
What do you think of the manta or foil labs new offering? While the foil drive is a cool concept, the cost of it doesnt make a whole lot of sense. If you build your own it will set you back about $1800.
Good question. The Foil Drive is proven and they work really well. You get reliability and a good company standing behind the product with FD. We don't have experience with Manta. Cool concept but have recently talked to a few customers that all had issues right out of the blocks and they still could not get their issues resolved. The Flitelab jet board is a cool concept but advanced product for the really top tier riders. The Foil Drive works great and works for beginners to advanced riders.
@@REALmattnuzzo that may be the case, I fully expect the price to settle around $1800 in the future. For $6k I could purchase an electric motorcycle or 2 surrons or several one wheels or multiple international flights or top tier DJ equipment used at festivals or a used car or a top tier trials motorcycle etc etc. you get the picture.
