I have a beta Stllman And Birn and I gessoed the pages and use oils in it - works very well- heavy thick, tough paper , nice for almost any medium I think. Not cheap! I just put a flat coffee stirrer near the center between pages and the oils dry fairly quickly and without problems- I enjoy sketching in oils in my car. I so enjoy your great channel!

Probably the sketchbooks with thicker paper. Beta or Delta sketchbooks.

I don't want *very* thick paper, and I prefer A5
Any sketchbooks you could recommend that's within the stillman and birn company? I use jacksons art online store for my international shipping,
There's this sketchbook that's made for markers specifically but I can't remember the price. Markers will bleed on most paper so it's best to just draw on one sheet/page, and place another paper beneath to protect the next page.

how long usually does it take to draw or paint one page ( both page) ?
tommyundnemo This is an A5 sketchbook that opens to A4. It's usually around one hour. If there are more details or I use watercolours, then maybe more time. If it's just a pen and ink sketch, then it's less than an hour.
Teoh, for pen only (FP, Micron, Uni, etc. ) do you prefer the smooth Epislon or the more textured Alpha? Thanks. I always enjoy your videos.
If it’s ink only, it works better on smooth surface

Both are good. For brush pens, inks, go for smooth paper.
