- Ingredients:-
For the masala paste:-
300g Fish steaks(Pomfret/ Surmai /Black Pomfret)
1tsp chilli powder
1tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
1/2tsp turmeric powder
1tsp ginger garlic paste
1tsp peppercorn
1tsp fennel seeds
1tsp lemon juice
1tsp coconut oil
Salt to taste
Coconut oil for frying
Curry leaves for garnish
Method:-
1.Clean the fish steaks well and keep aside.
2.In a mixing bowl add chilli powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste.
3.In a grinder/mortar pestle add peppercorns and fennel seeds and grind to a coarse powder. Add the powder to the masala paste.
4.Add lemon juice, coconut oil, salt and little water and mix well to blend all spices to form a thick paste.
5.Add the fish steaks to the masala paste and coat all pieces well with the masala paste.
6.Marinate the fish for at least 1-2 hours.
7.In a frying pan add coconut oil .Once hot enough add the fish pieces.
8.Flip the fish pieces in between and add few curry leaves to the oil for enhanced flavour.
9.Fry fish on medium heat till the it cooked well.
10.Once done remove the pieces onto a tissue paper.
11.Malabar fish fry is ready to serve with rice and curry.
