Man, people forget how Paul George use to take those loaded Heat teams to the limit. He's been deferring to Leonard since they teamed up. Now he has to carry the load and he did it.

the problem with sports is that it is being based primarily on the gambling world's expectation of the outcomes. thus the over examination of the players, who may or may not share the same expectations of themselves as that of the media or of the betting world.
PG is so smooth. I'd take his game over Lebron's (current day) anyday. He doesn't rely on his athleticism to affect the game and that's what people need to appreciate about him. He scores 30-40 points in a given game on mostly jumpers, literally winning his team the game. Then he's a serviceable passer and great defender on top of that. So when he scores 15 points, he'll still lock down his defensive assignment and get 5-15 assists. Not everyone wins a ring and that shouldn't diminish their abilities because of it
I think slick Rick hit it on the head when he mentioned PG considers himself amongst the greats. If he didn't have that attitude a lot of people would respect him more. Middleton balls out to the same level as pg but he doesn't get a big head
Yeah, but he had a serious squad. The first time he had Danny Granger who at one point was the 2nd best SF in the NBA, Roy Hibbert was defensive player of the year. Correct if I'm wrong him and Granger were 2nd and 3rd team all NBA. OOOHHH and my guy David West.
He had a great game. No doubt. But he has to repeat these kinds of performances in order to get that stink off his name. That’s what makes the great ones great…they consistently perform. We all know PG is talented…and I’m rooting for him to change the narrative about himself. Keep balling, P.

You don't just have a couple great games after years of disappointment and say that you are now a proven franchise player and have silenced the critics. It takes years of consistent play to be labeled one of those. The critics already know Paul George can perform like this and that is why everyone rags on him so hard because he could do this every year. This proves nothing that we don't already know. Remember him back in Indiana vs the Heat we already know what he can do it is just a question of will he do it this year and that is not what you ask of a franchise player you should always expect top level performance.
Paul George does not get credit for a one game play, too inconsistent, still have not put his team in competition to be a true contender. You're judging 1 year stats as elite (i.e. Derrick Rose MVP season then what happened after that). I will be quiet but when they lose I'ma be talking again. Maybe if he always have the super green light like in Indy.
