    Brett, (retired electrician here) The extension cord wouldn't reduce the amperage enough to even nudge a meter. Your problem was likely damp air in creating more work for the dryer.

    Call the customer service number in the paperwork or look it up online. Be careful when not using the hoses for the dryer and venting it outside. By using it the way you did, you are adding a lot of moisture inside the camper.

    I had a set like this in the 90s for our cabin, to save water, I always used the rinse water for the next load of clothes to save water. Just make sure wherever you use the dryer it is fairly level, will cause you belt issues if it isn't, speaking from experience.

    We don't use dryer sheets anymore. They can plug up the breathability of the fabric. We use the plastic spiky balls. It helps.

    I would use the dryer to "fluff up" dry clothes to make them softer, and more wrinkle-free. That's what I do at home, anyway, with a softener sheet & a regular dryer. I always hang my clothes to dry because I'm 5'8" and don't want my clothes to shrink...also, they seem to stay in better condition! ☺

      Omg … someone like me ! It used to take me 3 days to do all the camping laundry when we get home. Now, I bag up all the laundry and have my hubby drop me off at the laundromat. Poof, 2 1/2 hours … EVERYTHING is washed and dried. Now if I needed to do just small loads and I was on the road, yeah, I might use this set up.

    We have exactly the same dryer but in silver. It's a nifty little dryer but it works best with smaller amounts. EDIT- There is a cool down process at the end of the cycle. Keep an eye on it, stop the dryer before it gets to that point or your clothes go cold again. I find you have to take clothes out and shake them before putting them back in to get to all creases or get those damp spots. Hope that helps. ❤👍

    Maybe using the vent might make it work better? Not sure since I live in an apartment.

  • @kristiphillips7783
    @kristiphillips7783 2 месяца назад +1

    My dryer growing up was what they called an apartment sized dryer which was about 4 times the size of that but still compact. What my mom did for the vent which stuck out a little more than that but you could still do was put a pantyhose leg on it secured with one of those rings you tighten with a screw!! Sounds funny but worked and was pretty common for people without places for washers and dryers in apartments! It let air flow just fine and caught lint. It was nice in the cool/cold months as it helped heat the house when in use. When a lot of lint had been collected we threw it out and put a new one on. Pending the set up of places we lived in warmer months she could often just vent out a window when in use with a normal dryer vent tube. You could actually buy a window attachment for that reason you just slid in and shut the window on top of when in use that was pretty light weight. The good old 70's and early 80's! Good to see this and the style of washer we used are still being put to good use! PERFECT! We would make visits to the laundry mat on occasion for the larger stuff like blankets, coats or just to play catch up when life got busy. I told you my hack once when we would wash and spin without draining and rinsing. Throw in a basket and add more water and wash another load and spin. Then drain and you could do 2 rinse cycles the same way in less time and by spinning between it gets out a lot of the dirty soapy water for a better rinse. You do you though! Just trying to help with time! Watch out for that spinner with socks though. Often our socks came out twice the length they went in. Was weird!
