Dear Frannie...i just finished crocheting my own hat using your cute pattern in the Go for Faux colorway in Mink...it's so darn soft, cute and super warm for this holiday season. Thank you and holiday greetings to you and your family. ❤
Both hats look super and they suit you, I've just finished crocheting a beanie which I will send a pic for show and tell, that yarn looks lovely and soft and I bet it will keep your head warm once your winter arrives, thank for sharing and stay well.
Thank you so musc, I just found this yarn and fell in love with it. I bought about 30 skeins of it before deciding what to make I loved the feel that much!!! Love this hat tutorial. Can’t wait for your scarf one.
Thank you for this crochet hat. I just ordered 4 Go For Faux Yarn from Joann’s at $5.99 each. They also have a coupon for free shipping until the 20th. I can’t wait to make this hat.
@@FranniesHair Yes a sweater for my daughter. Shoulder bag, with the Ice yarns I won from your giveaway. I want to make the sweater you made, I just ordered the faux fur to make a hat and scarf set.
I've not worked with yarn that thick. I usually make doilies or finer yarn cardigans. But it really did look easy and so quick. I will get some yarn and try it!! Thanks for the tutorial!
Wow! That's terrible. I have this tutorial and another on a bucket hat that I did very early on: ruclips.net/video/h2Cq3LH-UAc/видео.html Thank you for watching!💕
They are beautiful! I have been trying to find a crochet pattern for a scarf that is also a hat. I had one once and loved it. In case you get adventurous.😁
I ordered some of that yarn and can’t wait to follow your tutorial. I also wanted to tell you Ingot the other blocks from Amazon and they are great. Thank you so much! 🎊🧶❤️
LOVE this. My dear friend really wants one. She and her girls have large heads. How do I gauge the correct size of the circular dome part before building depth with sc?
Hi Donna, What I would do is measure the circumference of their heads and then measure the circumference of the top of your hat as you add increase rounds. Keep in mind that this hat does have stretch to it so you may want the measurement of the crown of your hat slightly smaller than their head measurements. For each increase round, you'll add a sc before the increase. For example, R1 was 2sc in each st, R2 was a sc in one st and 2 sc in the next (repeated around), R3 would be a sc in each of the first 2 sts then 2 sc in the next st (repeated around)...and so on. Does this make sense?
@@FranniesHair makes perfect sense. She will love it. I already ordered the yarn and I'll make it next time we have a visit and send her home with it...ty you're a doll!
@@FranniesHair that’s so cool, because I wanted something that wasn’t good to scratch my neck and wrist . But looked real classy (snow bunny style) lol.⛷❄️🌨, that’s what I want to put on my cal cardigan. Still plugging along, you know how life is.
Love the way you hats turned out but as a beginner I’m a bit worried if I can’t see my stitches. Hopefully I can make one of these for this winter upcoming as Christmas gifts. Thanks for sharing🙏🏻
That’s great! Funny you should mention the scarf. I didn’t do the scarf yet, but I was just looking in my stash closet and thinking I should. Coming soon…😁
Awesome! I actually have a ball of this exact yarn! I'm making this! .... but... oh no, I just saw that huge 😳 hook🪝 I don't think I have that !?🤔 Edit: All set... went to Lion Brand and got more Chinchilla Go for Feaux and the big hook! I'm in business now!! Thanks for the tutorial, Frannie. The hat looks great on you!
I started making my hat, but I need to make it bigger and longer can I make 19 or 20 stitches to make my hat bigger and then add my single and 2 double stitches after that? Thanks
Hi Charlotte, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you...it's been crazy with my move. You can make it bigger several ways. You can start with more stitches, or you can increase more each round. That will increase your diameter. To increase the length, work more rows...and try it on as you go to make sure it's as long as you like it. Hats are great projects to help you practice your skills...they're so easy to try on as you go and adjust quickly. I hope this makes sense to you...if not, please reach back out.💕😊
I finally made the hat today. I couldn’t do the magic circle so I did the 5 chains, slip stitched to make a ring. In doing so I have a big hole at the top of my hat. Is there anything I can do to close it up. Thank you in advance.
Great! What did you do? I was going to suggest turning it inside out sewing it up. That’s the beauty of the magic circle. If you would like, I can post a video of how to do the magic circle.
Love it!! They both look great on you♡. This reminds me of how I make our face scrubbies but with smaller yarn and hook. I can't see my stitches so I feel them. I'll take a pic of Rayven's and show you when I get a chance❤❤❤
My friend asked me to crochet this hat for her. I’m using the same yarn and watched your tutorial. I did the 6 rows fit and it’s very small. I’ve ripped it apart a couple times thinking I missed a step or maybe my hand stitch tension was too tight but it’s not any different. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.
If the fit is too tight, I would start the first round with one or two more stitches. So if you start with 7 stitches, after you do 2 stitches in each stitch for the second round, you'll have 14 stitches...and so on. I hope this makes sense. If not, feel free to email me at frannie@frannieshair .com
Thank you !! I experimented last night and started with 7 stitches and just saw your reply. It’s way better now and it’s a great fit. I’ll be sending it to my friend and hope her head is like mine 😉. Love your content ❤ and really appreciate your reply.
Hello. Well I bought my yarn and made my hat only to realize it wasn’t Thick and Quick. 😮. So you can imagine it turned out small and thin. 😂. Well I didn’t cut my yard. Any suggestions to make thick yarn work? I was trying to make the hat….and later the scarf as gifts for my friend. My hat is really thin and seems “holey”. Thanks!
Thank you. I will try that. In the meantime I placed order for the thick and quick. I currently have Lion Brand Go for Faux 3.5 oz/100g wt. 65yd. 100% polyester. It’s not thick and quick
I wanted to specify that you'll need 2 smaller skeins (not the double size) to make this hat.🧶💕
Thank you.💜
