I've got a 16x7 4 panel. Wood door with 4 lights. Id like to make it look new. I did a faux wood color a few years ago. I spent the better part of a week sealing sanding calking fiberglass work ex to make it look good, and it did for all of 1 year. Then the paint in large chunks on the bottom started peeling back off. I just want a skim covering I can glue or pin nail onto it thats weather proof and looks good. Short of buying 6/4 ceder and putting thin ceder strip on it like a boat and that might look good but its not the look I'd like. I can think of sevral styles that might look better. You need a wood over wood option. The parts could be screwed on then the holes Plugged and sanded. Or just close enough to match the backing might be a thin closed cell foam for noise and insulation. These can go inside or outside or both. Thicker foam on inside panels.
Being an owner of an overhead door company I see a few issues with this. First of all you are adding significant weight to the door. This will throw off the springing weight and the springs of the door will have to be changed to accommodate the weight. Also being that it fits inside of the stop molding, doors shift left to right a little bit when operating up and down over and over. Id imagine these would move over time. All that being said its a great idea and as long as the expectations aren't too high I would have liked to sell them myself.
@@dano1307 good points all around. My biggest concern is why they never launched? I mean, if I need one two car door and one single car door panels, then how much? I send the payment, they send the panels? But they still haven't launched the company? I've found videos back from 2013 and still nothing that you can order. Something isn't right. Either the panels are having issues, legal issues are afoot, or the guy flat out doesn't have the money to launch anything. Either way, I wish he'd xxit or get off the pot.

@@bryanjones6546 I doubt they will ever launch at this point. I reached out to them for a sample and info I never heard anything back.
