    Rad video!!! My sister gave me a little washboard for Christmas today. I looked up how to play and found this.Pretty solid!
    I play drums and thought I’d lick the washboard quick. No way.
    There’s some serious skill involved. Pat your head, rub your belly in a counter clockwise motion, walk down the sidewalk at a 4/4 pace without stepping on a crack and chew gum at the same time…
    Thanks for sharing, sharp dressed fancy accent man.

      They’re easy to get going with but hard if you want to be good.
      We’ve got a four part lesson here which will cover most things you need.
      Good luck as you continue your journey into the land of scrub.

    Perfect...I’ve struggled to find ‘good’ tips about playing washboard. These videos should be put together with a books, music sheets or something similar...I’d buy it. The insight of professional musicians is invaluable especially when they are about less used techniques such as these.

    Thanks a lot for your excellent tuition. I play washboard occasionally at our Uke club. The only thing I do correctly I s hang it around my neck. 😊

    Jeez you guys 'jump' . . . . . I have to say I've only just started in the last 6 months on the washboard but I have to say, as I started it before I knew you guys, you weren't my inspiration . . . but since discovering you both, it's inspired me to want to play it properly! You're a killer duo but Jack you roll over that washboard like velvet mate. Like Krupa washing his socks while he listens to his walkman ha ha. I have to ask though. . . . is it new to attach a 'vibroflex' to a washboard . . . or have I gone too far? . . . . It does sound amazing but it's a bit of a 'reach' when you've got a decent rhythm going. You guys are the mutts nuts . . . . . . I could sit in the bar with a bottle of red and your vids for hours. . . . . and have done! Cheers guys.

      What a lovely message! First we’ve heard of a vibroflex. Anything is possible nowadays. Keep drinking the red stuff as surely it will open portholes to newer and better dimensions. 🎯

    Q: How do you keep your thimbles on your fingers without dropping them???

    • @TheWashboardResonators
      @TheWashboardResonators  2 года назад

      They’re metal and squeezable. You can choose sizes so get the nearest and make fit. Rare you loose one. We have paid that stitch fingerpicks onto gloves etc. 🎯

    I’ve always wanted to play the washboard - is it possible to buy one that’s already ‘kitted out’ with the bell, cow bell, bloc, splash etc etc??

    • @TheWashboardResonators
      @TheWashboardResonators  Год назад +1

      Not like this one is. A google search will reveal what’s available ready to go. 🎯

    Does it matter if you scrape up or down?

    • @TheWashboardResonators
      @TheWashboardResonators  3 года назад

      No I think if you get a good sound, whichevr way is fine. However, you are less likely to loose a thimble if you scraping up.

    Hi! Can you tell us which music to play these patterns on? Thanks from Italy

    • @TheWashboardResonators
      @TheWashboardResonators  3 года назад +1

      Hi Alessandra. So I'm using them for early jazz, skiffle, blues styles but they're pretty transferable for many styles. Just decide whether it's straight or swung! :)
