An Iconic Preacher. Although yet in the sunset of his life, having preached the gospel for over sixty years now; his gracious trumpetous voice now cracking, his arduously spent body now wearing out, tapping out to cancer of the pancreas, and his firm ceder-like goodly form now but a hunchback; is a man I wish my heritage identified with, if not inextricably bound to, till I also finish of my race, or pass on the torch, hoping I finish mine as well, or even better.
I have learnt through the life and ministry of this gracious waning preacher in my distant observation and listening to him much more than I could had I spent a decade at the seminary. As a matter of fact, I posit that virtues have been retained in my imitation of him that could or would have been destroyed at the hands of and by the indefatigable intellectualism of my seminarian tutors.
Having done his utmost, I don't wish pastor C D Brooks lives longer. Strangely I pray that he should die soon, for his death is but rest, and a celebratory event in the corridors yonder! I pray that the holy hills of heaven call him soon, rescuing him the soonest from the excruciating callousness of cancer in her vile variations, like he did for good old Edward Earl Cleveland.

Pleasant way to word it. I comb the net to listen to any CD Brooks I find. He did God's work and he's like one of the partriachs for me. His way of teaching is my way of easily learning. Anecdotes, EGW, other people's experiences, no repetition, rebuking not condemning, intelligent facts here and there and more. Amen and Amen. This is in my best 3 - Semper Fidelis, Last Mile Home then Steady.
