Heya Brad, The older Stabs have been designed around the older foils. They still work, but with the new profile designs the offset between foil and stabilisers has changed. The Speed 180 and Dart 140 are excellent stabilisers for the New HA foils. I stopped using the HS232/212 and the HA195 when the MA foils came out, I personally found the difference in tech a bit off and had to negative shim the tails to balance out the drag of the newer profile designs. Can of worms. Best bet is to match a stabiliser with foil, they have been designed with each other, youll get the best ride.
Hi! My go to was HA 725, I m 50kg, winging practice & wing released do you think I can go for a 780 as my light wind wing / small waves setup, and the 580 > 18 knots / bigger waves, or just one wing quiver : the 680 ?
That’s a tough one as haven’t measured speed. But I’d say they are close, ha680 has all the lift qualities which is drag but a smaller foil than ha725. 725 faster by design but more foil, more drag. They both feel fast but, for Surf foiling, the HA680 wins. If I was racing or kiting, ha725.
Hey Olly - I'm keen to get on the new HA train. Currently riding an MA1000, but pumping on it sucks. I can connect 2-3 on it at best, but it turns super nicely on the face. I'm 88kgs. Do you reckon the 780 or 880 is the go?
Heya man, Id say the HA880 if youre wanting to connect more than 3 waves, The MA foils turn really nice, New HA not quite the same, but still great turners..keep in mind the New HA foils are designed for the connect style sessions where pump glide and turn all have a equal play in the design. The HA780 might just extend your wave count 1-2 waves but youll have MA1000 like turns. HA880 will bump up wave count but you wont lose that much turn that you would prone the MA1000 again.

Had fun pumping the 925 but had to focus soooo much on the turns,……could turn the 725 but could not Connect as many waves and not fun at low speed😅,….had so much fun surfing the Cf2 950 but could not pump far……..IS THE MAGIG FOIL FOR SURFING THE HA680 or 780??????.?.😅
I have had lots of time on the HA880, I have been downwind sup foiling with it and enjoying small prone days on it. 5-6 minute waves are a norm for me with the HA880 paired with the Speed180 and one red shim. Im 78kg and would call the HA880 my SUP foil for all Sup styles. It does for prone what the HA1125 did, extended connect sessions with knee to head high waves. If you throw the Dart 140 on to stabilise the turn improves and the small stuff can be dynamic like the HA680. I really think the Dart 140 and Speed 180 tails should accompany these new HA foils, you get 2 different distinct styles out of each HA foil.
I use the Speed 180 with one red shim for general prone. Long period waves at my spot so longer pumping sections. If its overhead I may use 2 red shims or swap out for the dart 140. Winging I use the speed 180 also. Single red shim.
Dope review. I’ve been riding the 780 w/ dart 140. It’s wicked. I’m 165lbs so may get a 680 for prone/tow ins. Keep the vids coming

Hmm 50kg. probably 580 and 780 for that range. The 680 has so much juice for me at 78kg.

how have you found the 680. I weigh the same and want either the 880 or 780 to use as my main wing for winging and prone foil

If you main foil was ha725. The HA680. If the HA925 was your goto, then ha880. Could get ha780 also. All depends on your weight and your local spot.
