my only issue with this kit is that when i steer one direction my left wheel raisers which is causing a huge grip problem and i cant figure it out, ive tried doing extra sanding in between the control arms and did the tutorial exactly like u did
@@Doritune.rcdrift bro i think i fixed it lmao my dumbass hadd the servo arm connected behind servo horn instead of infront of it. i did it by habit due to working on 1/10 cras so my bad not paying attention
the unpredictable steering i get driving this now that ive installed the rwd kit is absolutely unbearable.if i install a gyro would this help ? also what are some things about the kit i can tune thatll make a difference ? ive loosened up the ball joints underneath the bottom control arms so it stopped lifting off the ground finally but how do i avoid unpredictable steering ? low carpet it doesnt really drift well either and on hard wood i cant drive str8 not even for one second it just starts doing donuts the second i hit gas and ive adjusted the steering trim a million times still the same result its just so frustrating
I was trying the rwd thing with mine because the front diff kinda broke after it not working at all I fixed it for awd again much less headaches. It’s also on a 7500kv brushless motor it’s way to fast for its weight still the most fun rc car I’ve had. I’d get another and just put a 3k kv motor in it and have a decent brushless set up
The k989 is an awesome platform to be honest! I have an awd one, and two RWD ones, they will never be on the same level as the Atomic DRZ but my RWD conversion is getting there now… I plan to put a brushless motor and ESC in my AWD one at some point 100% 😄
Hey dude! Thanks for the question, I have part 3 about 60% edited! Unfortunately my MacBook broke down whilst editing so I have decided to rebuild my PC and switch back over to a desktop.. in the middle of this I have also now changed Jobs and I am about to start an intense 6 month training program for the new one.. I haven’t forgot but for right now this has unfortunately been placed on the back burner, as soon as this is ready to drop I will do so. The above combined with parts from China taking anywhere from 9 days to three months to arrive is just making this project a right pain, and the Original kit has almost tripled in price so it’s getting to a point that for the faffing involved, is it really worth doing..
I'm new to rc cars and drift but I couldn't help messing with my new K989. I saw your short for this kit and decided to 3d print a similar one. Still in testing phase and without a gyro but would love to see more small scale stuff!

At this point honestly the v1 I cut and shut together drifts more stable😅

You need to adjust the end point on your gyro to stop before the wheel lifts up, really, it needs better lower arms designing to stop it
@@Doritune.rcdrift i dont have a gyro on my car and even turning it half way it raises the wheel. am i supposed to be using this with a gyro kit ?

Unpredictable steering can be fine tuned by a gyro yes 👍

Locked or open rear diff
I have tried both, locked diff in my opinion is better with the k9
