Congrats! I bought the SSL SiX mixer to use as a summing mixer. I grew up on an SSL 4000 E/G, and honestly the Waves SSL Bus Compressor catches ALL the sound of the real thing frighteningly, but I missed bus saturation and headroom SO MUCH. I'm a much happier camper now. Happy music-making!
Hi Glenesis! SSL Six its a great sounding mixer, and definitely better than the Waves plugin. I'm glad you are having great results with the SSL Six as a summing mixer, I'm sure it gives you a nice analog warmth. Thanks for sharing and for stopping by!
Hi Luvitluvitbaby! I love the Native SSL Bus Compressor 2, it is my favorite compressor plugin. If the Lindell Audio is giving you the analog warmth you need, thats all that matters. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi MilestonesGlobal! You did a great purchase! The Portico 2 is an excellent mastering processor. The two are very different, with your Portico you can increase the width of you master or mix, that is a key difference. Also, your Portico has the amazing Neve silk texture control, whereas my SSL Bus plus has the THD. At first it might seem like a similar effect but its not. I feel that the Neve silk is much more warmer and musical. However, in terms of compression functions for mixing the SSL Bus plus is the winner, which is why I got it for. The legendary SSL sound is carried through this compressor. So I would say for me those are the main differences, but both have their place in a song's development. I am already saving for the future to be able to get the Portico 2 for mastering. Alright, I hope that helps and thanks for stopping by!
