its the ultimate bus comp! the only thing it doesn't have is instant re-call. it'll def take your drum sounds, and mixes, to the next level! (they already sound great!)
This thing is a bargain. The API 2500 costs a 1000 euro more and is more limited in terms of functions. Still a beast but imo way too expensive if you see what SSL offer. Ordering mine. Thanks for the demo! Love it. 🙂

Iv'e had one now for about half a year. I absolutely love it. I use it for tracking, mixing, and mastering. The only minor gripe I have is recall, if it had a usb to recall settings, it would be the ultimate. Not that big of a deal really tbh but thats my one and only issue
@@vigneshkarthikeyan8174 i think it may be the ultimate vocal compressor. you could, in theory run it in dual mono, have the first compressor behave a bit faster (1176 style), and patch it in to the 2nd compressor with slower settings (la2a style) to catch the peaks, then dial in the D-eq in bell mode for a Desser, and then add grit and color with 4k mode. One stop shop for all your vocal recording needs
Oh thats wild! Definitely something I’ve spent months thinking about! Would you mind considering trying the serial routing of the channels to test the hypothesis? Id appreciate it, but definitely get if its not worth the effort. Ive got a fusion and a routing chain I’m considering is for being able to route this and the fusion easily between mixbus and tracking. Any ideas there my good sir?
I’ve heard a=b test with standard g-comp, 500 series, vs the Bus+, and the g-comp sounded better every time. My question: is that your experience? Is the compressor on it, which is supposed to be the same as the g-comp, actually not the exact same? It sounds to me like SSL compromised on the compressor. Has that been your experience? Have you compared the compressor to original g-comp, or the 500 series one?

Great video. Now it should get remote automation. There are far too many controls for a recall. I always have it set to a fixed "preset", and bought 3 units for different buses.
I am looking for a compressor model that has an automatic release setting. An auto-release setting takes all the thinking out of the equation as it bases the release on the input signal, does this compressor have that quality?
So are classic SSL desk Buss Comps, and earlier SSL Buss Comps Feed-Forward normally? Sorry if that's not what you were saying, but that's just what I kinda heard. I didn't think they would be, but just curious if that's what you meant! Cheers!
How would you hook this up to a computer? I've never recorded with high end gear. I always see people sending tracks from the analog units back to the computer and I have no idea how it's done and never seen a video of someone explaining it.
just the makeup gain. I don't see how an additional output trim would help..? In the settings you can otherwise activate a +10 dB input boost or -5 dB input attenuation if you need to bridge between different nominal levels and retain that change in bypass.
Wes’s unit is lovely as well- but I do find this very versatile and user friendly. 4k vs 9k- variable distortion, low THD mode, sidechain filter, mid side, dual mono, feedback and feedforward, two auto modes for attack and release, dynamic EQ as well. Incredible unit- especially for the price. The wes is more straightforward I suppose but im always wishing I could tweak a regular SSL comp a wee bit more. I personally get to my settings in about 20 seconds on the buss plus
I was tossing up between the Wes Audio NG Bus Comp and the SSL Bus + for a while and seriously was willing to go either way. I did my research, and honestly despite other opinions online went with the SSL Bus +. If you want that SSL sound, glue and "like a record" feel SSL is known for, the Bus + does it like no other. The NG Bus is fantastic, the transformer makes things sound large, but it's no SSL. It comes down to what you're after though, apples and oranges.
Snobs won't bother with your statement so let ME enlighten you Plugins just don't do it like the analog stuff does We've been sold snake oil for 20 years now I just finally tried the $40k vintage SSL console mix buss and it blows even the cheaper modern SSL out of the water. Pushed it to the max and it just kept sounding better Of course you will lose definition and attack as you keep on pushing like Ermz said he lost kick but then there are ways around that either mix in the original signal or some sort of pass filter thats if were talking preserving attack like you need in metal but for softwr stuff it might be desirable or if your metal mix is already transient heavy Plugins can only be pushed so far until they fail and you wont even know it (unless you're Ermz which you and me are not) and even then the effect is just a glimpse of the real thing. I wish I knew before We came up in the trouble times made our selves believe it can be done I'm sure it can but not so far My apologies if I underestimated your understanding of the art of mixing either way this is the way I see it Cheers amigo 🤘
Im not hating....but I was going to buy this and then had a chance to use Acustica Audio's Tiger...that has all these same features....live analog sampled from about 30 diffrent compressors including API and SSL.....if you are already using a analog bus compressor...you might just wanna pay 200 and skip giving SSOverpriced.....2800
I've been disappointed with every single piece of gear I've purchased from Behringer. Even with something as simple as their balanced patch bay. I don't think I'll ever try something else from them.
What plugins are you talking about? What Behringer are you talking about? Have you done any comparing *whatever it is* that you are talking about? Has someone else on RUclips?
Best demo of the BUS + i've seen so far ! great video

Great video, Ermin. Now I need one 😂
Hell yeah. Great demo, this is a piece I've really had my eye on!

So great seeing this from your original acquisition post to this completed video. Very rad.
Nice demo! That acoustic song sounds like Emo Jeff Buckley. Dig it
Excelent demo. Good source material and great explanations. I like you added more info in the lower third.
Thanks for this! I want to hear the SSL Fusion too.
I got the SSL Bus+ a while. But after that great review, I love that thing mucho more. Good job!
Holy crap 😍 I love it! I don't fully understand all the functions but this is going on my wishlist. One day I'll have it 🤗

I agree. The price difference doesn't match up. I assume they've used different, cheaper components.

How does it sounds compared to that GSSL? :-)

Well THIS is a real sweetie now isn’t it?!
Looks like it’s new hardware time. 😁😁
does it beat the WesAudio ngBus?
Why is this one so "cheap" vs the SSL g series rack that's 2 K more ?
The bus + can do more so I don't understand why the other is so damn expensive
If you have experience with the latter, how does the saturation the Bus+ is capable of compare to that of an SSL E series channel strip?
It can get very very distorted if you want, with full digital coltrol
The real question here is... Where the hell did you get Sylosis stems? I fucking love that band and would kill for their stems fr 😂

Is there a main out out to compensate or is is just make up gain? thanks
