Belladonna and Nameless will actually occasionally switch it up in Persona 2! In addition to the iconic Aria of the Soul, they have a few classical pieces they'll randomly play instead when you enter the room. I guess it's gotta be a little boring for them to perform the same song every time. 😅
They are. Obscure japan PSX titles were inspired a fuckton by David Lynch back in the day, for instance in the game "The Silver Case" by Suda51 an important location in the game is titled "Mulholland Drive."
Minor complaint: I think that Persona 5's Persona fusion should have been shown off since all the previous versions were. Instead, you just showed the introductions to the fake and real residents. Not to mention the other facilities and uses.
Out there ideas I’ve had for the velvet room: -a clinic/trauma center/hospital -library -ballroom -aquarium -planetarium -circus -castle -motel/hotel/mansion -graveyard -junkyard -theater (not counting PQ2 and more like a stage play sort of theater) -church -virtual reality/video game (which would be ironic and funny) The whole velvet room and it changing designs is so odd yet so interesting and fascinating that it could pretty much be anything, can’t wait to see what they’ll do for the next one 🤩
For the trauma center idea, it would be cool if the protagonist were to make the fusions themselves with operations and the assistance of the velvet room attendants. The failed fusion could be a botched surgery where the attendant/s take over your failure.
Spoiler for P5 … 28:49 this line was definitely foreshadowing that it wasn’t actually Igor. The velvet room is a state of being, so why would the overseer call it “… my velvet room” when he never called it his up until now? Jaldebeoth didn’t fully understand the nature of the Velvet Room, only that Igor oversaw it, so he made the mistake of calling it his.
Theory: While Joker/Akira/Ren is yet again trapped under the chains of captivity under gods will, Igor isn’t present within the velvet room. Thus, Lavenza confirming that her master is on “vacation”. Which means, he’s probably helping the Persona 6 protagonist on his/her journey
I just Met the three original Velvet room assistants but i wish they shown up in other games well not only them Atlus should stop ignoring P1 and P2 in their entirety.
The Velvet Room music is iconic to me. And a staple to the series. Would love for Belladonna and Nameless to make a return though. How many years has it been?
Never played the first few games but I can see the Twin Peaks inspiration is really palpable. Even the name "Velvet Room" is very on the nose, so to speak.
One thing that has certainly never changed is Igor's daper gentlemenly look, his nose on the other hand. (Seriously, was it ALWAYS longer in P1 through 3 then it is in 4 & 5?) Edit: Wait a minute, after close inspection, i think only P1 and P2 were the only ones his nose has been the longest.
Since Persona 1 and 2 are most connected to each other, and Persona 3 and 4 are somewhat connected to each other, maybe that means Persona 5 and 6 will be connected loosely. There are rumors that Persona 6 will be involved with the law, so maybe Makoto will make a cameo?
Eh, honestly, you could say 4 was fairly connected with 5 as well, in the same way pre-Arena 4 was connected to 3. I know for certain that Rise and Adachi both made cameos in 5, and don't quote me on this, but I believe Chie did as well.

I love that the song has never changed, not even a little bit (except for Reload, that broke the streak)
Belladonna and Nameless will actually occasionally switch it up in Persona 2! In addition to the iconic Aria of the Soul, they have a few classical pieces they'll randomly play instead when you enter the room. I guess it's gotta be a little boring for them to perform the same song every time. 😅
They treat Narukami like a king.. while makoto got an elevator and joker got a fucking prison🤣
And the P1 and P2 cast just get a boring old room, no special theme for it, it’s just a room
P2:EP map music is a banger.
Battle quest theme is better
I wonder if the first two games iterations of the Velvet Room were inspired by Twin Peak's Red Room at all
they are inspired by twin peak's tho
They are. Obscure japan PSX titles were inspired a fuckton by David Lynch back in the day, for instance in the game "The Silver Case" by Suda51 an important location in the game is titled "Mulholland Drive."
The only thing I see changing is Igor's cheesy grin
Honestly, a prequel Persona game (like Persona Zero or something) would actually be pretty cool
i mean, smt if is basically just that
Shin Megami Tensei If... exists
Raidou Kuzunoha's duology is basically Persona series prequel
Shin Megami Tensei...if
Minor complaint: I think that Persona 5's Persona fusion should have been shown off since all the previous versions were. Instead, you just showed the introductions to the fake and real residents. Not to mention the other facilities and uses.
Out there ideas I’ve had for the velvet room:
-a clinic/trauma center/hospital
-library
-ballroom
-aquarium
-planetarium
-circus
-castle
-motel/hotel/mansion
-graveyard
-junkyard
-theater (not counting PQ2 and more like a stage play sort of theater)
-church
-virtual reality/video game (which would be ironic and funny)
The whole velvet room and it changing designs is so odd yet so interesting and fascinating that it could pretty much be anything, can’t wait to see what they’ll do for the next one 🤩
I really love the two ideas of it being a Hospital and a Library.
I love the ballroom idea.
For the trauma center idea, it would be cool if the protagonist were to make the fusions themselves with operations and the assistance of the velvet room attendants. The failed fusion could be a botched surgery where the attendant/s take over your failure.
@@RubyRedPhoenix413 holy shit, you pretty much guessed how it would’ve worked in that scenario 😂🤩👍
While not exactly, it’s pretty much spot on! 🤩👍
The aquarium one got put in Persona 5: X lol
I always thought lavenza would call Philemon her master's master.
Spoiler for P5
…

this line was definitely foreshadowing that it wasn’t actually Igor.
The velvet room is a state of being, so why would the overseer call it “… my velvet room” when he never called it his up until now? Jaldebeoth didn’t fully understand the nature of the Velvet Room, only that Igor oversaw it, so he made the mistake of calling it his.
Plus Philemon owns it.
Based twin peaks red room styled P1 P2 velvet room.
24 years of seeing a man with a very long nose
Theory: While Joker/Akira/Ren is yet again trapped under the chains of captivity under gods will, Igor isn’t present within the velvet room. Thus, Lavenza confirming that her master is on “vacation”. Which means, he’s probably helping the Persona 6 protagonist on his/her journey
Igor's art went from MS Paint to a high-quality art
I just Met the three original Velvet room assistants but i wish they shown up in other games well not only them Atlus should stop ignoring P1 and P2 in their entirety.
1:54 Standing igor is nightmare fuel..
The Velvet Room music is iconic to me. And a staple to the series. Would love for Belladonna and Nameless to make a return though. How many years has it been?
Came here to see the difference between Igor’s voice when he was kidnapped.
WOW it was dead ass the Black Lodge in Persona 1 and 2. That's great
I was completely blind to persona when I played 5 but hearing Igor's voice in 5 made me think he was pretty sus
Didn't know there was a singer and a pianist, so where are they now though😂
Never played the first few games but I can see the Twin Peaks inspiration is really palpable. Even the name "Velvet Room" is very on the nose, so to speak.
One thing that has certainly never changed is Igor's daper gentlemenly look, his nose on the other hand. (Seriously, was it ALWAYS longer in P1 through 3 then it is in 4 & 5?)
Edit: Wait a minute, after close inspection, i think only P1 and P2 were the only ones his nose has been the longest.
@@vinegar4556 Past Persona characters were mentioned on TV in LeBlanc cafe. The characters that got mentioned are Katsuya Suou, Yukari Takeba, Akihiko Sanada, Yukiko Amagi, Chie Satonaka, Rise Kujikawa, Taro Namatame and Tohru Adachi.
Outside of the TV in LeBlanc, Naoto Shirogane was mentioned as the original Detective Prince when a talk show host mentioned about Akechi being the second one. Teddie's bear suit appear as a doll which can be received as a gift from Haru. Rise's poster about her new album can be seen at the subway.
Oh, I love that in the first game, the Twin Peaks vibe is more palpable
Mr Burns in his free time
Lol
Igor is really scary in persona 2, I think is for the 3d model or idk, maybe the eye
Well good thing I started with Persona 5 because looking back it wasn't very subtle lol
Started with persona 4. Then played Persona three Enjoy both immensely. What's good persona? Five came out on my Birthday in America. April fourth
I want to be his assistant in the velvet room
Igor has been through this action countless times with different people could they be linked?
1996-2000 velvet room : we need a singer and a pianist
2006 velvet room : welp just put on spotify
Yep, still looking bizzare.
*insert JoJo reference here*
i think the true velvet room are the friends that we make in our jorney
I wonder why they changed his portrait in persona 5 his 3&4 portrait is perfect
LMAO. The first game and 2nd game literally has a singer and a pianist in the velvet room. I can't 💀
from room to elevator to limo to a fucking prison
I played P5 first and assumed he was like that in every game. I was probably one of the few that was genuinely surprised at the reveal!
Doesn't Igor look like Cheshire cat from the video game in human form?
I wonder how come they don't show or even reference the pianist and vocalist from 3 on?
I knew something was off with “Igor” in 5 because of his voice. Sure it could’ve just been a new voice actor, but not once did he or the twins refer to the player as guest. These two things threw up red flags.
persona 4 had the best igor voice
I really like the concept of the room in 2
It has the pianist the singer and the painter
The music is actually there not a gameplay addition
Except for the obviously stated Persona 5 ''Igor'' Saying ''Welcome to MY velvet room''
The fake one also says ''I am Igor, the MASTER of this place. Remember it well''
While the real Igor will always say he is a resident.
I love Igor's voice in persona 3 and 4
I keep forgetting that the velve room used to be an actual room with someone singing & someone at the piano.
Persona 2 Igor can't hurt you, persona 2 Igor can't hurt you!😱
When I first heard Igor in the trailer for P5 I knew some bullshit was going on
Igor: Welcome to the velvet room!
Bender (Futurama): Shut up baby i know it!
"You were truly a interesting guest."
"Aw shucks, I bet you say that to all the guests you get."
Bro HAD to fuse that Persona in P3
you know guys? I think it was said that velvet room appearance is base on the protagonist cognition!(?) something like that... But it's so cool that unlike on p1 and p2, igor on p3 suddenly went on a fucking endless elevator then after existing it went to grab some freaking limbo then went to a prison😂 it's like he's just passing some time while travelling 😂
Such a cool twin peaks reference
At least Igor had the actual singer and pianist in the room with him in the first and second game.
Igor looks WAAAY to much like riff raff in p1 and 2
they never changed the velvet room music ever since the 1st persona????? i didn't know this. i only played persona 3 to 5
Hey look its penguin from Batman
How many servants(Residents) has Igor gone through???
Let's be honest: Igor is the best persona character of all time.
I miss Igor's old voice
