Brilliant! Really enjoyed this as it took me back to, I think about 1963, when my father bought an ID 19, the cheaper version of the DS 21, and which had the fibreglass roof. It was white with blue upholstery. I remember it was a most comfortable car. Unfortunately after only having it for a few weeks in the UK a lorry hit the offside front wing which was a write off but within a week or so a new wing was aquired and simply bolted on, the car being as good as new again. The car was shipped to Hong Kong where my father had it for a couple of years but because the local agents did not have the expertise to service the hydraulic suspension, allowing dirt to get into it, he eventually, reluctantly, sold the car. Changing a wheel was simplicity itself using the suspension to lift the car then putting the jack in place and then lowering the car which raised the wheel. No human exertion required! It was a superb car well ahead of it's time.

Superb, it must’ve been a well-loved car to ship it half way round the world! This one has obviously travelled a bit as well. Nice to hear it holds fond memories 👍 Thanks for mentioning the innovative wheel change process - something I meant to ask about!

Excellent, that was a nice drive. What a charming couple they are. Paul, congratulations on getting through the "red tape" on importation. It's a beautful example and color combination. I have only seen one of these in my city (Washington, DC). A question: Why is the driver's side windshield wiper not flush against the glass?

Thank you very much for the comment, a shame that they're not so prevalent in the USA but I heard they suffered from a limited support network, particularly for the suspension.
I'm hoping Paul gets a minute from cruising around in the sun to check in & reply on the wiper 😉
