I'm an original owner, I bought my 1995 SVX-L brand new in 1995 and I still currently own it. It has 67k miles on the odo and now only comes out of the garage for shows. I appreciate this video!
That's wonderful! I had two SVX's in Chicago in the 1990's. They were my only forms of transportation, so I treated them like normal cars (yes, they are probably rusted away now). I moved to New Mexico in 1998 and found my current SVX in Colorado - completely rust free. I will keep her forever.
One correction: the VTD version had 66% of the power on the rear wheels and 33% on the front wheels that car was acting more like a propulsion car with extra grip on the front wheel like a real GT while the ACt-4 (MPT) in north america and elsewhere had 90% on the front wheels and 10% on the rear wheels, same system of AWD used in other Subaru like Imprezza and Legacy, a mostly front wheel drive car with some variable grip on the rear wheels, making them 2 very different cars on the road
Much appreciated! Totally agree with you, after all, SVX was the first attempt for Subaru in creating luxury vehicles, and it looks awesome even today!
It looks striking even today, I think it could make somewhat of a comeback in a hybrid or electric version as a kind of halo car/tech demo for the brand.
Yep! "Alcyone" was simply the Japanese name for the model, either way, seems awesome to own a XT, the looks of it just scream "retro-futurism"! And the quirky, asymmetrical design of the steering wheel, as well as the jet plane-inspired dash are absolutely bonkers
What an awful commercial for a sports car. No wonder it didn't sell. "We're not going to tell you whether it's fast, but we promise you'll be able to do the speed limit!"
Yeah, that commercial went like "Instead, we're gonna tell you things that are are not told about the sports car", the quirkiness of Subaru just shines through, as always😄

Thank you for the comment, it's nice to hear when people preserve cars like this with great care, keep at it!

I also own SVX, actually 4 of them😅. No other car drives like SVX does❤
4 SVX? You must be having someone's dream garage there! 😁
Always liked the SVX, the world needs different/quirky vehicles like this. Also, much love for the preceding XT!
woa the quality to sub ratio is insane dude keep it going
Much obliged, thanks for watching! 😁

I was just talking about Giorgetto Giugiaro in my VW video. This was well constructed and delivered. Looking forward to more content!
Very glad to hear that from other car channels! Checked it out, and now you just gained another subscriber, keep the good work up! 🤩
New subscriber here; I've always thought the SVX was a pretty neat car, just released at the wrong time. 🙂👍
Much appreciated!

Great video!!! Very informative with great detail 👍🏾💚
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you very much!
I got a Impreza and Legacy. I found a white svx at the dealership. Had to buy her. SVX is a porsche.

I know, right? I can totally see it as a modernized design vision for Subaru!
the Alcyone was the Japanese version of the XT series my mom had an XT turbo when my younger brother and I were young children

Did a video series on the original Alcyone.

Much appreciated!😎
