  • A prestigious watch brand with a rich history, founded in 1875 by childhood friends Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet in the Swiss Jura region. They established a successful partnership, with Jules handling technical aspects and Edward focusing on the commercial side. In 1882, they surprised the industry with their first complicated pocket watches, including models with perpetual calendars and minute repeaters.
Their innovative spirit continued to drive the company forward. In 1891, they developed the smallest movement with minute repetition, followed by the introduction of the first wristwatch with minute repetition a year later. They made wristwatches appealing to customers by adopting a square rather than round case style and adding further indications to their designs.
Audemars Piguet's commitment to innovation reached its peak with the development of the Royal Oak in 1972. Named after the hollow tree trunk where King Charles II allegedly sought refuge during a battle, the Royal Oak featured an octagonal case, advanced materials, and an integrated bracelet-a design that remains iconic to this day.
