Rell Wynne that’s pretty dope I didn’t know that. I think they look pretty freaking cool. But really I wish Nike would make the OG SFB in the new authorizes leather. I’d go right back to those things.
You called it the 3rd gen and that's wrong. There are two separate lines of boots; The SFB and the SFB Field. You're calling the SFB Field the 2nd gen when in reality, it's the 1st gen of the Field line. The new boot you have is the SFB Gen 2. They just came out with an SFB Field Gen 2 now as well.
@@NemeanIndustries No worries! Sorry if I came off blunt by any means. TYFYS, I'm in the AF myself. I had the exact same pair in sage green and now I'm getting some in Coyote brown.
As an old soldier,I will suggest,if Unit permits, to wear the"gymshoe boots"for qualifications like obtaining a RANGER"road March"or PT in sand,BUT for FTX or deployment into a theatre...I personally would wear combat boots. Why?Take the example provided by the Vietnam War Vets which divulged to the soldiers during my era their experience with ground traps known as"pungie/punggie sticks".Those damn things sliced through combat boots...what do you think this trap will do to"gymshoe"boots? HUA?! Nothing personal, but NIKE,UNDER ARMOUR,ADIDAS whatever...these brands MUST prove their craftsmanship for the soldiers'feet....damn the looks.!
@@NemeanIndustries...thats definitely the"new"U.S.Army.In my time, the soldiers had two pairs of U.S.Army Regulation Boots, and for PT,either running shoes or"cross-trainers"...a boot for every task, wow! I'm pretty sure that the gym shoe companies love that.
Claude Sledge I didn’t say a boot for every task. Most people have a pair of boots for garrison that are more flexible and comfortable, and another pair of much more durable field boots. Like I have a pair of Nikes for garrison and a pair of Garmonts for the field. And i don’t know why you’re going on about pungee sticks when no one has stepped on one in combat in over 50 years. It’s not a relevant thing to plan for anymore.
@@NemeanIndustries...??? Two pairs of combat boots...one for backup.PT was running shoes or"cross-trainers". Your time has...what,a pair of boots for"road-marches"AND another for ??? I doubt if you go to FTX with one set of combat boots...and what of PT? I know you are not doing PT in those"gymshoe boots".
I wear the 1st gen sub but the trainer model (sfb trainer) they were more of a mid cut with a sock like liner on the inside. I added in so,e insoles from some nike sb dunks with the zoom air and they were heavenly
HI Gillespie, are these Nike SFB boots true to fit? Did you have to size up or down? I like to pick up a pair but I could only order online because the country I live at doesn't carry them in store.
Broooo thank you for this. I've had my gen1s for 5 years and they are about done. I was super hesitant to go to the new ones but this seals the deal. Sizing the same I assume?
Thanks for this comparison- I can't find any article/video/etc that compares the OG SFB to the new Gen 2. I have the OG in black and tan- wore the piss out of the black ones over a 4 year period (still wear the tan ones). Got the SFB Field Duty boots and they suck. Hopefully, these Gen 2s will be much better. I do think Nike should clarify the names more since it appears everyone thinks they're all in the same line- SFB vs SFB Field. After a year do you still like the Gen 2s and how are they holding up?
Ashley Still I agree, because even I had to be corrected on their names.lol. But yes! I love the things. No complaints at all. And I like them much more than the Fields.
ragehull the break in period isn’t too bad, after that, they’re good to go man. I really like them. Haven’t rucked anymore than a few miles at a time in them but I have no complaints.
Thank you helped me before ordering...the straps around the back is inspired by the Jordan 11s

Most people have multiple pairs of boots for different applications depending on what they’re doing and use them accordingly.

So if you had 2-3 pairs, it sounds like you had more pairs than most of the Army does now. That’s crazy.

I’m from Japan. Is it weird to wear these shoes for gym?

The Gen 1s are great for jumping, but yea. I copped all generations of the SFBs. Great video.

noirsociety sorry, just now seeing this. True to size for me!
I love all of the Nike sfb line boots. But I like the 1st gen the best too. Does Nike still manufacture the 1st gen sfb boots? Good upload! Thanks!
Thanks for the vid! Do they provide enough support for knees and lower back?

Been looking for the 1st Gen, anybody know where we can find it? Link?
I don’t think they even make em anymore!
Are the newer boots as light as the originals?
If they’re any heavier, it’s by a few ounces. Just did a 12 mile in em a week ago and they felt great.
Gillespie Cole sounds like a winner to me. Thanks
Are they waterproof
Where can I buy the gen 1? I have looked everywhere
Mckade Kidd I’d check eBay man. I looked a lot of places trying to find some for ya and couldn’t find the OG SFBs anywhere
I just did 🤣😝
I want to buy this shoes
You wear them on a ruck yet? If so, how were they? Talking about 3rd gen, just bought a few pairs.

I’ve put quite a few more miles in them and they hold up. Like a more rugged and durable version of the 1st gen SFBs, without sacrificing the comfort.
If you buy the boots from nike directly (with a Nike plus account) you can get a full refund if you send them back to Nike within 2 years.
Taylor Albaugh How do you know?
itsvishnukumar I’ve successfully done it with two pairs of shoes from Nike.
Hello can you give me some shoes please?)
SFB=Suffer From Blisters The old one are good SFB sucks
