  • A wonderful start to the year at the Swindon & Cricklade Railway with two locomotives in steam: resident Collett GWR 0-6-2 Coal Tank No. 6695 and on-loan Kerr Stuart Works 0-4-0WT No. 3063 D249 "WILLY the well tank". The three coach train formation was fairly full throughout the day as there were many visitors to the railway. The highlight of the event was the double headed round trip which departed from Hayes Knoll at 13:35.

It does look rather ridiculous. I have seen "Willy the well tank" paired up with a SR Beattie well tank on the Avon Valley Railway a few years ago and that also showed up the difference in size. Willy was fine with three loaded Mk1s yesterday and it will be at the S&CR all this year.

A well filmed and interesting video that could be improved by: including footage of the man coupling the engines to the coaches. Plus footage of the man using the lever to change the points.

I am sure you are right Chris my videos could always be improved. Although I usually attempt to record these sort of things on many occasions sometimes there may be a large number of people wanting to see it (no room) or I have already recorded it before or simply forget.
