If you create a vlog, I know it's tempting to use a piece of music you've found on youtube that's labelled as: free background music for vlogs or copyright free music for vlogs , I've been there myself and believe me I regret it and I've lost a lot of money because of it! You may not get a copyright strike on your channel BUT you will end up with a notification that someone else (the person who made the background music ) has put adverts onto the start of your video and they're making the money from your video. So this i VERY bad for 2 reasons. Number 1: having adverts on your video will lose you a lot of views, so unless you are making money from them you're losing views for no reason. And number 2: If your vlog or channel blows up and you start getting a lot of views you will not be able to put your own adverts on your videos to make money because you don't own a licence to the background music. You will never get given a licence when using free background music for vlogs . So now there's 2 options. Pay a producer a fee per song (usually around $30 - $100) or pay a background music licencing company such as Soundstripe, a small monthly fee and be able to get a licence to unlimited copyright free music with a licence that lasts a life time. I wish someone had given me this knowledge when I started my 1st youtube channel!

I have 2 questions if that's ok though. I am a bit confused, as from some other tutorials and checking RUclips support, it seems like we are able to monetise music on RUclips library. It actually answers this questions word for word. Do you mean there are some CC that we can pull from videos by searching for CC and some might have extra restrictions?
I still believe Soundstripe still might make my videos better quality as i think the music won't hopefully be used by as many people. This, however, brings me to my second question, as far as i understand from their FAQs, if you cancel your membership you are not allowed to use the music you downloaded on new videos, which is kind of fair but i want to know for sure that i won't have to take them out of my already published videos. Thanks again, and lease let me know if i understood this all right.
I'm not 100% sure what you mean by the 1st question. The youtube library can be monetised yes, however these songs are used a lot (not that it is an issue if you don't mind that) but also, if in the future you want to use your videos on a new platform this wouldn't be allowed (so you couldn't use it on facebook for example or any new platform that may be the next big thing). What I was talking about in the video was not the youtibe audion library, I was referring to the millions of songs on youtube that are labelled as copyright free music.
Video's with soundstripe are covered for life, even if you cancel your subscription, but the content needs to have been 1st uploaded during an active subscription. So as loong as you upload a video during a subscription, once you cancel, you can keep that video live and also upload it elswhere in the future (because the licence cover you for a certain project, rather than a certain upload). So in short, as long as the 1st time you upload that particular video was during a subscription you are covered for life. Hope this helps!

@@ONITMedia absolutely! hehehe with my first video uploaded, i got a content ID claim - but it is definitely an AI mistake so when i contacted Soundstripe about it being a complete newbie, they were so so so helpful, they calmed me down as i was worried and we exchanged like 5-6 emails, I have to say the type of customer service they give is second to none which is so crucial in my opinion... anyhow, I am grateful that I watched your video and got your review and insights on it.
