Michael Dowd joined the NYPD in 1982 and spent a decade protecting drug lords, stealing from their rivals, and operating his own cocaine operation.
An NYPD cop betrayed his badge by working for a gang that stole $20 million in cocaine from drug dealers and resold it on the streets, authorities said Friday.
Police Officer Jorge Arbaje-Diaz was on duty - and in full uniform with gun, badge and handcuffs - when he shook down dealers for cash and dope
According to prosecutors, JoseTejada took part in at least three robberies in 2006 and 2007 while in uniform. The Harlem cop allegedly supplied the crew with police uniforms, NYPD vehicles, and other equipment which they used for robberies that netted over $1 million and 250 kilos in cocaine.

A kilo of coke wasn't no damn 50 grand in 1985! A kilo of coke back then, especially in New York was NEVER over 18 grand! And the quality of the coke back then was damn near 85% pure.
Funny how coke was so cheap during the height of the War on Drugs. You'd think it would have been harder to find, with the amount of resources dedicated to that farce.

Are you that naive? Happy they were caught? With numerous others to take their places. Stop being so silly with the "praying" to keep the streets safe. You must be delusional. Police will never keep the streets safe not their job. They are part of the problem as well. Do you think they don't get paid off, and line their pockets when making a huge drug bust? Lol !! Just who do you think helps bring in the drugs? (aka, govt) Keep praying and come back and let us know how it worked out, your prayers that is. As for reward money. It's all another govt lie to bait people. There is no reward money. They can tell you anything about a reward, but it won't materialize. and if there ever was a payout, one must wait till the person is captured convicted, and put into prison before any money is paid out. Lol, people are so gullible and think this govt is on the up and up.
Man they done cleaned New York up I hate the new New York it’s so dead and gentrified and every neighborhood is dead just newer generation today but they getting swept up too…we in a whole new era and generation but it’s still bad but not as back than and crime and everything has dropped. 90% of these street gangs are in rikers island.
Where calls from Rikers Isl not recorded then betwn inmates & who they spk with? Why did they not hv warnings based on prisoners recorded phone calls?

No mention of Nicholas associate Brian Glaze Gibbs? Why did NYPD only hv 1 rookie officer protecting the witness & family? If threat was that serious why nt hv 2 NYPD officers/patrol cars outside house! NYPD did nt think drug dealers would kill NYPD LE
They didn't care much...they knew what could happen but it's examples like this as to why people don't like cooperating with authorities because it's no real protection, especially by the police

When it comes to the drug business we always hear about the distribution problem but hardly ever about the demand. As long as there's demand there's also gonna be supply and viceversa so the fight has to be on both fronts at the same time.
Watching this Colombian series based on the life of Pablo Escobar he used to say that "if americans want cocaine we gonna give it to them" but at the same time he was strongly against his ppl using it. I guess there was a reason for that which in the US authorities didn't understand.
So did them informers get their reward money?! 💰

So an officer is ambushed and assassinated and it's second degree murder. What does it take to be charged with first degree? Lazy prosecutors who don't want to chance losing the first degree to a lesser charge?
If they give 1st degree it would be racist. 😤. Welcome to America.
In New York, premeditated murder is second degree. First degree is based on the classification of the victim. Ex: Law enforcement, engaged in duty; murder for intimidation (typically a witness); murder for hire; cruel and wonton behavior. as well as few other enumerated circumstances. I didn't watch this video within entirety, so I can't comment on any specific conviction.

What a screwed system....Police catch a guy who is on parole with weapons, drugs and piles of cash and then you release him on bail !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
