🤍 Basic FAQ 🤍:
Where am I from? Finland
Where do I live? In the city of Leiden, in The Netherlands!
How old am I? 27 (when this video was filmed)
Is seeing the tulips in The Netherlands on your bucket list? 🌷
Yes 🤩🤩
I want to visit Netherlands to see 🌷!!
Yes. I would love to go for my 40th birthday next year. or really my 39.5th lol
Thx! I lived in the Netherlands for 7 years, inspecting the flower bulbs prior to export to the USA. Maybe it has changed, but when I lived there, the Bloemencorso alternated years starting in Haarlem or ending in Haarlem. I am happy that you mentioned up front about not walking into the fields, being private property. Especially in hyacinth fields, people walking can carry plant diseases. When making field inspections we would sometimes see where a bunny had hopped thru the field, leaving a zigzag path of yellowing plants!!!
Funny to hear how you can even see where a bunny has been jumping! But yes, it’s important to let people know to respect the fields 💖
wow i loved tulip 🌷

We went to Keukemhof! We love it!
Happy to hear that 😍
This was soooo useful for me to plan my trip and go to amazing tulip fields in a ceaper price
Happy to have been able to help! Have a fun trip 💖
@@JanicasJourneys thank youuu
Loved this video! Quick question, is VD slot bulb flower and the tulip barn near from each other? :) Was thinking of taking a day trip to these 2 places!
Thank you! ☺️ They are relatively closeby to eachother, it’s about 7/8km distance between them. So if you have a bike or car it should be pretty doable! De tulperij however is right next to vd slot bulb flower 😊
Thank you Janica, for a very informative and easy to watch video... I love tlips and have many in my garden in the UK... I would love to visit the Keukenhof and other gardens, but have a few health issues that would hinder me in all those crowds... but who knows
Happy to hear that you enjoyed the video! ☺️ Hmm, maybe if you’d go in March or May the crowds could be smaller. But even if it is busy, there’s plenty of spots where to sit down, use the bathroom, eat etc. And also areas with less people. Hope you can visit someday!
cool
Awesome simple video with good enough info to plan my trip this coming April and hope it does not rain on 20 April 2024 for this years flower parade! BTW any tips where to stay in Harlem that is good and clean , plan to stay one night to start the day early before the crowd.
Thanks! Yes, let's hope the weather is better this year 😀 I'd recommend Bed & Breakfast Hotel Malts, it's right in the center too!
As a greenhousebuilder t westland was my second home, nowadays the US and the rest of Europe is.
The same tulips is in Kashmir.. Search tulip garden Kashmir🍁✈️
Hey Janica, very nice Video, I would like to know if those spots that you mentioned have parkings so that you can access them with your car, or is there a better way to get to these spots?
Thank you! Most of the spots have parking and I'd say going with car is the easiest option, the 2nd best way would be with a bike 😄
Thank you for this amazing review! It’s really helps🫶🏼 I’m going to be in Amsterdam for a long layover of 14 hours in 5 days and I was looking forward visiting some tulips places. Do you know if it’s a good plan? I mean, if you know if the current weather will be good for that and the tulips are going to be in bloom ✨
It's been a bit of a colder spring, but I think it should be fine and sounds like a great plan! 🥰
Ooooo thank you for the insightful video. This is a bucket list item for me (if you don't know the term "bucket list" it means something you wish to do before you die). My daughter and I are traveling to Amsterdam in late April and are planning on either renting a car and driving to Flevoland or going on a guided tour. Do you recommend versus Bollenstreek? We want to avoid tourist trappings and desire a more authentic experience. Thanks in advance
Glad you found it helpful! ☺️ Honestly I haven’t seen what the tulips are like in Flevoland, but I do think Bollenstreek is very much worth it. Keukenhof is very touristic, but the other places I mentioned are much calmer, especially if you’d rent a car you could easily visit all the best spots. 😊
Very helpful video! What do you recommend for a family visit with children?
Maybe Tulip barn or Amsterdam tulip experience could be fun with all the photo props etc ☺️ they are also less crowded
Very nicely done, Janica! You are always sweet and interesting.🌷
Thank you very much! 💖
Hello Janica, we will be visiting Amsterdam on May 17 and 18, 2024. It seems that we will be arriving just after the tulip season. I am a photographer and would like to see whatever you might recommend during this time. Can you suggest anything? Thank you for the beautiful video and any recommendations.😊
Well if you’d like the photograph flowers there’s a japanese garden that’s beautiful & free to visit that time of the year in The Hague, called Clingendael. 🌺 During may it’s also the Wisteria seson, which you can see in most cities - and especially in the botanical garden of Rotterdam! Hope this helps ☺️
Hi Janica, Thank you for such a informative video. May I please know which places listed here can be relatively easily done without a car or bike? I do not mind walking! I am planning to start in Keukenhof in the morning and then I would like to walk out and visit a couple of these farms if possible.
Amsterdam tulip experience is the closest one to Keukenhof! Tulip barn is also not very far, but in another direction though… for Keukenhof you usually need quite a lot of time so i’d maybe pick only one spot more! Also in the area of Lisse it’s just very nice to walk/bike around with fields everywhere ☺️ Close to Keukenhof there’s also a little hidddn gem known as the Keukenhof castle, lovely spot for food & walking around, which I also recommend visiting if you have the time! Hope this helps ☺️
Thanks so much for responding so quickly, I appreciate that. So, I think I will decide after we have done Keukenhof whether or not to keep walking and which way. But it is good to know that you can actually walk around a few places. Also in your opinion, is it better to book a Keukenhof tour (that includes the ticket to gardens) from Haarlem or Leiden OR is it manageable to get there on our own from Amsterdam centraal?
Thank you so much for the video, in the end of May can we still see some flowers that are not collect? I am going in may 17th and I would like to see leve flowers…
Hmm, I think most places mentioned have closed by then.. so it might be the farmers have cut them by then 🤔
@@JanicasJourneys I was hoping that was it :(, no problem, great video!
❤
Planning to visit next week the Tulips Garden, Is there any possibility that we can still see the blooming of Tulips? It is not yet the season but hoping that our journey will still be worth it though☺️
Seems like most spots open around the end of March! You have to check the dates if any place would be open 😊
Thank you for the absolutely insightful information.
Glad it was helpful! 💖
I saw on map review that the VD slot tulips are 10€ entrance and not free, isn't that true ? Great video though, straight to the point, thank uu
Hmm, is that for entrance or for buying tulips? It might also be a possibility that they’ve added an entrance fee this year 🤔 & thank you!
Can we visit tulip fields during last week if may ...can I be able to see that ?
Hmm, i’m afraid a lot of the farmers will have cut them by then 🤔 maybe at someplace tho!
Hi I have flight to amisterdam in 1 of June have some place I could visit tulips yet or just finishe end 😢?
I’m afraid in June it will be too late! But the Netherlands has luckily a lot of other nice places to see and things to do too ☺️
can i go to see tulips in april first week?
There should be usually a bit of tulips by then, but it always depends a bit on the year 😊

Can you tell how to get to Tulip Experience Amsterdam and Fam Flower Farm?
By taking a bus from Leiden centraal or Sassenheim centraal 😊 (you can take the train to these stations)
@@JanicasJourneys the field is a walking distance from the bus stop or train station?
From the bus stop yes @@bunlyuk3619
😂🎉❤
What is another use of tulif is it edible.
The bulb is edible but not very tasty.. 😄
I thought you were Dutch. You look like Dutch girls.
Not Dutch at all 🤭
Don't walk or stand or do anything else in the tulip fields. This is not you're garden and this behavior is anti social. Th locals/ farmers hate these tourists !
Yes, that’s what I said in the video 🙂 I only shared places where you’re allowed to enter
