Nothing could impress you I guess. This was a masterpeice. I love this song by Andrea & Celine, & it's very touching, but this version actually brough a tear to my eye. Which theirs has never done. Also, you must recognize Jennifer's amazing ability to crossover to any style. Celine is wonderful, but she is not capable of that.
Jen - I love you....Saw you in Santa Fe...just before you hit it "big" , you connected with me then, and you continue to connect with me now. God bless you,
Yes, I have, I've also heard and seen her perform soul, blues, jazz, opera, scatt, rock and roll to name a few - you may be well versed in what Jennifer is able to do but one should refrain from commenting on anothers ability without true knowledge of it
Really? She has done country? That's amazing. I have actually followed the careers of both ladies, & I am well aware that Celine has done all of the above you've listed, but I've never heard anything country, I can only imagine if she did, it would have definitely lost it's country flavor. Links?Celine has one style of singing, she has her own sound. This is fine. Jennifer can take on several persona's when she does, Celine just does not possess that talent, that is where they are so different.
Jennifer is every bit the singer as Celine. Except for one part when John went slightly off key (something quite unusual for him), their duet was actually better than I have heard Celine and Andrea. Jennifer and John have nothing to apologize for in the duets they did for this program, there are few singers dead or alive that possess their talents.
I don't think the comment was idiotic at all, in fact I believe I was quite accurate. Celine is truly amazing in many different styles, but she would not be able to pull off as many, or all, as Jennifer is able. I'm sorry. Have you ever heard Celine do country? It's just not her... doesn't make her any less talented, I was by no means knocking her ability...
Jennifer owned the song... John... not so much. Pass on him. I'd love Jennifer recording this with someone who will actually do it and her voice justice. Bad song choice
Very pitchy throughout. John and Jennifer are both talent-laden individuals, but this song has already been done to perfection by Celine Dion and Andrea Boccelli. By comparison, this was a disaster.
The Josh Groban//Charlotte Church version is wonderful. She brought a very tender feel to the song. I still prefer Celine Dion's powerful and soulful vocals to Charlotte Church and Andrea Boccelli's incredible range to Josh Groban. In order, I would say the tops is Celine/Andrea, Celine/Josh, Josh/Charlotte, then all the rest are playing on a lesser field. While John Glosson and Jennifer Nettles sang the song beautifully, it sounded to me like they were battling their own pitchiness as well as each other. I heard a good blend at times, but then they left each other to do their own thing. You'll find none of that in the top 3.
i agree with you on this sounded like they struggled at times. I am not a celine dion fan but love andre boccelli. I have heard the Josh Groban/charlotte church version many times. I am suprised you never mentioned the andrea boccelli/Josh groban version. Also the andrea boccelli/katherine mcphee version is very nice to. I would also like to point out a very nice version done by a austrailion guy named anthony callea during his run of austrailian idol
...she has like a one octave range and no dynamics. She sings other songs but her voice isn't truly versatile. I personally don't feel she's even a vocalist let alone one of the best. Who do you believe is the 1st best?
Hi, yeah, erm I agree this was stunning, but to say Celine Dion, the most successful example of a crossover star in music history, is not able to adapt to style like this lady is, is idiotic.
The blend of John and Jennifer's voice is exquisite
Absolutely the most versatile female singer in my lifetime. An extraordinary duet, with two fantastic voices. Bravo ! ! ! ! ! !
2024 and I still come back and watch this video.
love Jennifer and John duets, chills Every time, and their voices mesh so beautifully, they are Golden together!
she not only crosses over genres, but usually adds a new essence to what she sings
Jennifer is all class with this song. I love her voice. Clear power.
Beautiful. Absolute Perfection.
He is brilliant 👏
Jennifer Nettles...Phenomenal
If you are singing a duet with Jennifer Nettles you better have some damn good pipes. Good job John!

Jen - I love you....Saw you in Santa Fe...just before you hit it "big" , you connected with me then, and you continue to connect with me now. God bless you,

Os aconsejo también la version de Helene Fischer y Michael Bolton. Geniales.
2:00 pause
I'm sure 17 seconds is a new record for your attention span...
LOVE Jennifer but covers of Céline Dion should never be done, specially if it is a duo with Andrea Bocelli... :( not enough to impress me.
They're both (obviously) good singers and do sound good together, but I just didn't care for this version of the song.
she always tried to oversound him.....thats really pity and the feeling and message of this song is not transported
Gf

Thank you, H Shoven, for pointing me in Charlotte Church's direction. I'm definitely going to check out more of her stuff.
Agreeed

I agree John Glosson is no match for Andrea Boccelli...but I Always will prefer Jennifer Nettles above Celine Dion
I'm lol'ing at the people that think that Jennifer Nettles can compare to Celine Dion.
compare? celine isnt in the same league as jennifer-PERIOD!!!!!!
Brian Bittner
jen is 10 times the singer,
You honestly think this woman could out best young Celine in her prime???
jens not just the queen of country she sings everything to perfection .i think she is the 2nd best vocalist on the PLANET!!!!!!

Mariah Carey is the true queen
