Hi! I’m not sure if anyone will see this comment, but I wanted to share my edema story. I first started my edema being around 2 or 4 months pregnant assuming after my pregnancy it will go away as my OB and physicians kept telling me. I’m 9 months postpartum and my legs/ankles/slightly my feet swell. Throughout the day my legs and ankles are aching so much. It’s hard to care for my baby. Also to mention I have slight carpal tunnel and hemorrhoids. Idk if they’re related or not. My physicians and Vein specialist aren’t giving me the information I need. I drive an hour or more to see the specialist who sees me for less than a minute. Yes, it was like 40 seconds, im not joking. He said I have 2 leaky valves, 1 in each leg… my upper thighs. I did the first procedure in my left leg… it’s been over a week and still the swelling remains as I was told the swelling should go down. I had a follow up with my specialist today and again, less than 1 minute he says, “it’s too early to see results” he said to finish the other procedure and within 4-5 months come back if the swelling persists and says, “okay? Great I’ll see you soon” and walks out. I’m 24, I don’t know if it’s because I’m young that people walk over me like that with no other explanation or understanding that this is really affecting my life and that I spend my gas to travel a bit far. I’d like a little bit more reassurance that that. I don’t know if I’m taking it the wrong way but, I’m trusting him as a vein specialist to know what he’s doing. If anyone can give some feedback, I’d love to receive it.
Go see another doctor if you can, always good to get a 2nd opinion. And you’re not taking it the wrong way, it’s your life you should be as curious as possible and want these answers. Next time you go dont leave until you get answers and you’re fully heard. This is your life, good luck
I can only tell you, you are not alone. I'm 28 years old and i've been suffering from this for 8 years now. I still don't know what exactly is wrong, i thought i had varicose vein issues, so i spent my entire savings on two procedures and it didn't help at all. Just the other day my mom told me it could be edema and now when i look at the symptoms, it really seems like it. Hope you get your legs sorted and ache free.
@@savioer Thank you for your comment. I don’t know your gender, but if you are female and were pregnant…this start only during your pregnancy? Because I was literally fine before I got pregnant. Im currently 10months postpartum and I’m still swelling but not so much. Actually after that stupid procedure, the swelling on that leg is worse than the one that didn’t get the procedure done. I brought this up to the vein specialist and he told me to give it 6 months. Now, I’m gonna wait 6 months and if it’s still worse than my other leg, I’m gonna be furious! Like that dude must have fd up my leg! But anyways, I’ve been exercising and wearing thigh high compression socks and it’s literally the reason why my swelling is down. So if you’re not wearing compression socks, definitely do it! Especially the thigh high ones. I don’t know what your swelling looks like but if there’s a dent everytime you press down on the swelling, that’s fluid. Which means pitting edema. The cause for putting edema varies so, the best thing to do is be consistent with the compression socks, change your diet and stay active. I gained weight so fast during my pregnancy and weight gain can cause pitting edema too so, so far it’s been doing me justice losing weight and being active. Also, try to stay away from caffeine cuz it can retain water and cause swelling. If you have pitting edema, it doesn’t help to keep the fluid in the same place so try pushing the fluid up to ultimately pee it out. There’s also places where they do a lymphatic massage to bring the fluid up for you. Im gonna be doing that as well if the fluid retains and doesn’t go away but so far it is so I may not have to. Hope this helps! And I hope you get some relief and answers soon.
@@smoove8125 Thank you for your comment. I definitely didn’t do the other procedure for the other leg and the specialist told me to wait 6 months to see the results. So stupid. Cuz he never stated that before but, whatever. BET ima wait 6 months to see if anything changes, but so far the leg that had the procedure is more swollen than the leg that’s didn’t have the procedure. I am feeling better though. The swelling went down in both legs a bit in general, I changed my diet, staying active and consistently wearing my compressions socks. Huge change
I hope you're doing well.. 🙏 May God continue to heal you. Just yesterday my youngest daughter experienced these swollen eyes...then today her hands. I'm so worried about this kind of sickness 😢 this is her first time & she's still young @20. We'll go to the doctor tomorrow.
I got the run around and ended up dying & only to receive triple bypass heart surgery. Swollen legs, fluid in my lungs, congestive heart failure 20 years later here I am the doctors kept telling me I was depressed. Dr. Soon @ St Joseph Mercy hospital now called Trinity in Ypsilanti Michigan specializing in women's, & children hearts, was called. Fabulous Dr.
@@exploreeverything963 so like, I used to eat a lot of junky food and sodas, and that would build up that fluid, so I started going to the gym and eating more fruits and vegetables. Mostly natural stuff that's healthier for you.
I had swelling for long time, over a decade, maybe longer, pitted edema. I self-subscribed many treatments. Doc's thought those tormenting pressure socks would help as they did know cause. Those socks just transfer swelling! they do a darn thing!! For a recent infection, I got doxycycline. Edema disappeared and never returned. You may want to try it antibiotics if you don't know cause of swelling. May be bacterial.

I am James Osborn a 69 year old man, who was diagnosed with Edema although I have heard people speak of it. I never imagined that at this age it would be involved in my case. I met Dr Iyhere online on youtube, through the help of my son. After I took his drugs I have been relieved.
I can still remember how my friend suffered from Edema with all the swollen body but he is Lucky that he listened to me when I recommended Dr Madida on RUclips to him, Dr Madida got him cured with his treatment. My friend is completely fine now.
I think I have this issue but I'm not sure. Over 5 weeks now with swollen feet ankles and calves. Stairs take it out of me and walking hurts my legs quickly. I've been putting off healthcare because I only have Medicaid and I don't know if this is something worth an ER visit. I can just say it's very uncomfortable, feels like my knees down are bruised is the best I can put it. Anything more than a gentle touch is excruciating and I'm sort of stuck financially...
I changed to a healthier diet and lost weight which probably halved the swelling and makes walking easier. I also gave up caffeine (I know blasphemy 😮) because I found to my horror that coffee aggrevated it and made my feet feel on fire and that helped too...hope everyone gets better soon 😌
So where in this was the 2 minute reversal ???? Plenty of cause though.. oh yes, im wrong..knowledge about it...ok...im looking for berberine or reversal herbs..not this station..i enjoyed the 2 min expkanation though..🖒..
Hi I am going in for MRI with contrast today had a standard previous MRI which found a lesion most 'most likely a low grade glioma' likely slow growing and benign in my anterior lentiform nucleus globus pallidus there was no surrounding oedema and every else was good - basectly am I going to die ? it would seem that this area of the brain controls movement control etc etc is surgery to this area possible ? should I even bother continuing?
Dr Matt what do you recommend I have edema in my left arm due to chemotherapy. Left breast removal due to breast cancer. I am from Philippines 71 years old
I went out with a friend, who told me that my arms was swollen at first I thought it was fat, but as time went on I realized that the swollen face wasn't the only symptoms I saw. The ankles feet and legs got swollen. But with the help of Dr Iyhere everything went well.

Edema is sometimes misdiagnosed, of the swelling of veins around the ankles.
