- I rented a car and drove from Narvik, Norway up to the small town of Finnsnes. It was my first time driving in Norway ever. Northern Norway was stupendous on this day. The jaw-dropping landscapes (fjords, mountains, meadows, streams) and the big sunny blue sky were stunning. I met some Norwegians, got lost and found a couple times, and discovered Norway's roadside food. A perfect start to three weeks of driving around Troms and Finnmark.

You travel the way I do, or would like to, or used to. You have a general plan, but you're always willing to deviate. And you don't mind it very much when road work or flooding or whim forces a change. It was good to see M again. I can't forget how she hurt her poor foot on the last adventure. All healed up, I hope? Is this part of the trip you have shown before in Europe or a different one? This is a brand new trip, just completed a few weeks ago. Every day was fascinating and different in northern Norway, so there are a lot of cool adventures to come. And yes Masayo's foot is fine now

2:47 lovely to see the stretch to and from the old bridge, I remember driving that bit all the time from Narvik to Bjerkvik when I would visit in the summer as a child, but I haven't been there since the new bridge opened. I enjoy the shorter trip from town to our summer cabin, but it's nice to look back on the old one too. Thanks!
Edit: 7:28 I've eaten at that road-side restaurant once before and I think it might be the worst meal I've ever been served. The veggie burger was completely burnt and tasted like they accidentally spilled a whole salt shaker on it. Hopefully you had a better meal than I had. Lovely view tho hahaha.
I was so excited to be stopping at a fjordside restaurant by car in Norway that I'd have enjoyed any food at all. It was a bit salty, but I was loving it :)

Slick ride with the Lexus! I prefer digital navigation, so I was cringing watching you fold out that paper map ;) As long as it works it's a personal preference. I would have changed the car gps to English and gone with that.
Actually, I mostly relied on the maps I drew myself in a notebook each morning. Thankfully there aren't that many roads here so you don't get as lost

Heh, I didn't think of it like that but I do feel strangely at home in Norway...!
Larsen would be either Danish or Norwegian. So some of his ancestors probably were from at least the region. And he also looks quite Nordic, if I might say so.
Kjøkken means kitchen, so Det lille kjøkken means the little kitchen. Bjerkvik is not bad but if you call it what a scenery, you are mad! 🙂
