Hey Buddy, really enjoy your channel. One thing I learned the hard way about using caulk to fill nail holes is it shrinks. I had better luck with exterior spackle. Your doing great!
Hi Andrew leave no stones unturned is what I love about you. You and Tiffany are going to have a beautiful home. Love your content and videos. Take care. 🇨🇦
I get more and more excited each day. So great to see your hard work paying off and the finish line in view. Congrats! You both deserve to live that dream!!!!
That job is amazing. Prep actually takes at least 4x the actual paint time. Prep is king for a good job. There is no way to get a good job with poor prep. Every paint job is only as good as its prep.
I have used one time light weight spackling for 20+ years inside and out to fill nail holes doesn't shrink like calk does Enjoying the build and looking good
Probably too late, but when masking off windows and such with paper, run a strip of tape perfectly where you want it, then another strip with the paper...you won't have to be precise with the added awkwardness of the paper. Otherwise, looking good.
the Cinco sn40 I think back in the day was the best trim gun cement Shank small head that held stuff tight length from 5/8 to two and a half inches, very strong I like that more than the 16 gauge
Could you do a video when you rebuild your air guns. I love the small detail things that take time up front but pay off in the end when the end result is perfect. Over do is the thing to do. God bless
Have watched a lot of your channel and you do an amazing job. You teach everyone a lot as you learn yourself. I'm Curtis if you've had a sponsor or have denied any sponsors that reached out to you? Can you tell us why?
No "paid" sponsors yet. All the companies that have reached out are things that don't fit the channel and I don't like forcing content, feels very unnatural for me and the viewers. Don't get me wrong, it's tough to turn down the money when this is my main source of income and am definitely not rich lol. When I find a company I trust and believe in their products, I'll gladly let them sponsor me. I do occasional reviews of products, but those are NOT paid reviews, just cool products I think people might be interested in.
Honestly Andrew, the propane tank being so close to the house bothers me if there's a fire! I bet you were thinking to yourself when they were putting up the sheetrock, I've been so meticulous with everything and they do this in an assembly line way.
@@TKCL Sorry I mean that stuff that is basically made of concrete. I don't remember what it is called. It looks like wood though. But the PVC board option might the best balance between cost and the desired effect. Since you already used plywood, the PVC board would just be for water proofing, mold resistance and painting.
Ohh I see what you are talking about. I did make a few mistakes and not space three rows apart. When you get distracted by contractors phone calls ect, sometimes you start back wrong.
@@TKCL you could even make your soffits, unvented in your case, installed with a pvc/vinyl soffit covering too. That way you just need fascia flashing with a drip edge vs having a big 90 degree flashing bend. They make non vented soffit coverings so it would be able to match. Oh btw. The weird transition soffit at your corners of where the rack of the roof meeting the horizontal soffit is usually dealt with by making it a 'cornice return'.
Hi Andrew another great video. Have you looked into Turtle Coat Ceramic Elastomeric Coating System for the exterior surfaces ? If so what is your thoughts on this
Andrew... How does it benefit a creator to have two (or more) RUclips Channels.... vice just uploading more videos to one channel? i.e. How you have a separate channel for hunting/fishing related content.
It's more difficult no doubt, but it separates risk from channel deletion over sensitive subjects (hunting/fishing) and or being hacked. It would destroy me to lose everything in one go.
See you, now you’re messing with my OCD. I would have to Apoxsee that, the idea of just top nailing without some sort of bottom fastener or something built into the siding drives me crazy. I know it works and people have it and it’s great citing but that would drive me nuts. 😂😂 you’re taking the same approach and Brad nailing but this would’ve been a big problem with me on choosing siding. I would love to see them put some sort of bracket or secure system in there, may be some little track on the bottom back of the boards where are you can put little each clips or something to hold the two tracks together come out which I’m sure would make it way to expensive but we’re speaking rhetorically here. That’s just some thing that’s always bugged me just top nailing your siding, in my head that just seems like an insufficient way of securing the siding. 😂😂 I think yours will be fine but I might’ve done something crazy like actually run a line of Apoxsee underneath each strip or construction adhesive, but overdoing things is great sometimes I overdo things to death and that’s not always a good choice. 😂😂 that’s why my first thought when I think of how siding is something like LineX spray, like what they use on truck bed liners. And a lot of high-end housing actually use it as a roofing sealer or to cover decks in areas with salt water, but for most of us the cost of that would be impractical, if you have a $2 million house on the beach in Malibu, $12,000 for siding is no big deal. Lol and something like this I would have to defer to you, you’re smart enough to get it right but realistic enough not to make it stupid. 😂😂😂
@@TKCL it’s kind of like you say that you should just overbilled things. I just take it a little far I guess. I remember I built a work table and I bet I literally could’ve parked a suburban on it, I drove my ATV up on it a couple of times and it didn’t even budge. Lol. Luckily I don’t have to worry about it because I would’ve gone with the board and batten style anyway so it wouldn’t cause me to overthink it. 😂😂
Hi Andrew 😊 Everything is looking great and coming together. Can't wait to see the house painted. Thanks for keeping the bloopers in. 🤣😂🤣😂 Take care
Thank you!
Nice bloopers. Cant wait to see some paint 👍🏻
Lol. Love bloopers. Getting her done. Lol
Love the bloopers. Excited for the next video to see it painted. As always keep up the great work.
Those bloopers are great. I am glad I am not the only one who goes through that on the job site. You help me laugh at myself. Thank you Andrew . 🤗
Thank you for watching
I love the blooper's very hard to talk sometimes my friend I know the feeling, great job your coming along and darn fast too.
Bill Murray said "Leave them laughing when you say goodbye! Way to go with the bloopers Andrew!
Painting is all about the prep work. I also use a very good quality Porter brand boning primer and get years of quality wear use.
You need a day off to go fishing and relax. You are a little overloaded right now. Thanks for the outtakes. Love your videos.
Thank you for watching
@@TKCL I never miss one of your videos.
We appreciate that very much!
The blooper roll at the end is good fun, thanks for including that.
Getting there, great video. You are not only a one man construction crew but a great editor as well.
Thank you very much
Your perfection personality is coming out BEAUTIFULLY!
What a Joy it is to watch your videos ..
Thank you for watching
Love the bloopers 😂
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️ lol love the bloopers😁😁😁😁😁😁
Can't wait to see it painted:)))
there's going to be so many people that want you to build their house, I can see it now. good job brother😇
They couldn't afford me, I'm too picky and slow 😁
@@TKCL to picky and slow is what they want, remember you could be building a year blind for Ted Nugent LOL

That's very true!
How exciting

Thank you very much Mr Ron!
Can’t wait to see it painted:) stay safe :)
Thank you for the video of showing how to keep your siding from moving so much that was a great idea for using the brad nailer
Hi, Andrew! Dotting all the i’s and crossing all the t’s. I admire your thoroughness. Good work, Young Man! Not long until Sunday night.
I get more and more excited each day. So great to see your hard work paying off and the finish line in view. Congrats! You both deserve to live that dream!!!!

They must’ve been working by the hour on my house.. they caulked the bottom of every board lol
That's actually a good and bad thing. Great for the wind, but not so good for airing out and water drainage.

another awesome video
Just so you know, you don’t need the disconnect for the unit outside. You can come straight out of the main panel and pass code.
Hmmmm, the hvac company is the one that installed it. But yeah technically you could just throw the breaker.

Need to do more of the out take/ gag reel at the end of the videos
I do when these things happen, I've been on a streak of problem free videos and nothing really funny happening. I'm due for some more screwups.
You actually found some of that special caulk that won't quack??? Nice score!!! :)
👍🤣

Be careful on face nailing the boards. I had some done on my house and about a third of them have cracked.

Sure will, I now have both rebuild kits here ready to go.
I liked the yellow :(
You know if you are pressed for content you can always throw in a blooper reel in
Sadly not many good bloopers lately.

if you want maybe a less expensive option than custom metal for that underside, use either that pvc board or the smart siding itself.
Smart siding is osb, not my favorite option for exposed outdoor options.

What happened with the two joints on top of each other?
Huh? Joints can't be on top of each other. Maybe I didn't explain something clearly.
@@TKCL at 4:10 it looks like on rows 3 & 4. You are caulking two joints on top of each other.

Why not use a vinyl/pvc for under the roof?
I suppose I could have
