1986: "satanic imagery is garbage". 20 years later: stage, gear, clothes covered in pentagrams. Trend jumpers always a few years behind the trends. Like when they went grunge in the 90s.
@@coldblizzard5880 no, they abandoned the pentathrax fairly quickly. They have been using the standard pentagram for a decade now. The poentathrax was like the seven pointed star from Game of Thrones, and I’m not SURE if it was abandoned because of something related to former singer Dan Nelson (perhaps the pentathrax was his idea), but it’s possible.
I don't know much about Anthrax but what he said about writing positive music was amazing! I think bands like Anthrax and Megadeth are awesome because their music sounds energetic, heavy, but at the same time happy. Unlike a lot of metal bands which sound dark and depressing. But I think you're taking that " contradicting shit " too seriously mate :P remember even the name " Megadeth " suggests that its a very dark band, but their lyrics are very positive.
@KadeshLeMort thats nowadays. in the early stages, bands try to do things to make them stick out from their peers. anthrax chose to stay street level and be as opposite from say, Slayer, as they could in terms of image. After a while bands tend to let go of little things like that. they had made their mark, the world already knew what kind of message they were trying to send so they were probably like "oh what the hell if a pentogram looks sick on an album cover or for a tattoo why not."
@97Grimsta yeah but they were different. they were more evil sounding. they toured with Slayer too which is crazy to think about but Slayer started out wearing makeup as well.
@qu7aker He doesn't at all actually. Go watch any Bon Jovi video from this era. Frankie's hair is very 80s but it's not teased at all. Watch a glam video and their hair is a thousand times bigger and girlier. Plus I don't recall Bon Jovi wearing faded jeans and dirty hi-tops.lol
@qu7aker my hair s straight. never had it all that long. a little down below my ears but never to my shoulders. mine doesn't look emo per se, maybe a bit modern metal which sadly looks a little similar at times.lol the trick is too actually have bangs or no bangs at all...the gradual tapering off to the side is what makes it look emo imo.
Even though Scott Ian said writing about satanism and killing is stupid.. look at the fistful of metal album xD.. nobody really talks about or mentions that album
@qu7aker haha i also like frankie's hair. The guy from the thrash bands who had ungodly hair was marty friedman!lol so poofy and it wasn't even teased.lol
Well, Scott sure has back peddled in the last 20 years or more. The band uses pentagrams (penthrax) now and some of their songs advocate for atheism quite a bit.
Lol Bon Jovi comes on at the when Anthrax is there xD Scott and every one despised Bon Jovi and most of the glam bands, but why were they touring with wasp? Aren't they a glam band?
im talking about how scott says that type of music that exploits, and forces views on people is garbage meanwhile scotts in his band s.o.d writing songs like ''fuck the middle east'' ''speak english or die'.... just weird, thats all
scott looks like mel gibson in braveheart. funny how scott said satanic imagary in garbage when they would later make liberal use of pentagrams or baphamets or whatever... and s.o.d. would have the likes of morbid angel opening...
@@nastylawless Tried to come off as tougher than they were in the 80's (sounded like a sped up glam metal band to me) and then started adding rap crap before going full blown nu-metal in the 90's. Scott Ian was all bark, no bite.
daaaamn scotts new yorker accent is stronger than is hardly is now
MrThrashmetal13 I thought he was British at first lmao 😂
Frank looks like Joey and Scott looks like Frank 🤣
RIP Scott Ian’s hair
🤣😂
Scott's eyebrows when he hears "Bon Jovi". xD
IKR :D
lmao frank is so pretty
He really is!
right!! he's so adorable too
these guys are really genuine and smart, awesome dudes!
Wow…I feel old! 🪦
Sod was nothing but a joke done in 3 days but musically it was the most extreme shit to piss people of. It deserves to be the classic it is.
Scott and Frank seem so cool here. Just nice guys.
OMG Fraaaaankie *_*
Holy shit! Look at the hair!
wow, scott had a much stronger accent then.
Funny to see how hairy they used to be, especially Scott lol
I know im always so used to seeing him without hair. So these old clips always make me think wow he looks different!

Theirs has a name though. The Pentathrax!!!

yeah Anthrax’s recent use of stale imagery is disappointing to see from one of the most creative and original bands of the last 40 years.
@@WhyTheHorseface bro it’s literally in the For All Kings and Worship music album covers wym they abandoned it?
It is almost like people change their views as time passes on 🤔
Wow.. people were actually having a discussion about their hair.
They both have on judge death shirts.....cool haha (scott and the interviewer)
Scott’s accent is so thick lmao
Love the accents
No, he cut his hair off way before he got older. In the late 80's and early 90's he was shaved on his head.
Love your channel bro 🤘
they're not pentagrams...they're ANTHRAGRAMS ;)
3:40 - "Now next on the show we got a video by Bon Jovi". That would have really pissed off Anthrax, lol.
I have a picture of Scott on the back of my state of europhia shirt

Daves music goes very deep into things like rage, pain, corruption and suffering, have you heard all their music?
its funny to watch Scott Ian with a full head of long hair and clean shaven...weird...wicked eye brows!
Frank is so fine
oh wbk 😭
this so real
Scott you just called Slayer the GARBAGE. 🤣🤣🤣
Scott's reaction when the guy memtioned bon jovi
Isn't Scott friends with Jon Bon Jovi?
Thanks for commenting dude i dont even remember watching this video
@@iwannn Lmao np man. Anthrax still rules to this day.
Scott, why is your beard on your head?
Wow Scott really lost alot of his accent lol

@97Grimsta they were one of the "heavier" glam bands with songs like "fuck like a beast" and shit like that
vedicardi lol WASP weren’t a glam band
🔥🔥🔥
yeah I'm used to seeing him with his beard
that thick New York accent....fohhgiiett about et!!!
@94Cioppa they all did cause they were from NY. I think the thickest was actually Dan Spitz. Real heavy NY accent.
2:36 sargent d badge, dont think that sod were out then
@97Grimsta yeah but they were different. they were more evil sounding. they toured with Slayer too which is crazy to think about but Slayer started out wearing makeup as well.
But he wasn't the frontman of that band. He was just in it for the music and the experience. So its not like those songs were about his views.
I think that Billy Milano wrote SODs lyrics.
Worship Music!

Lol Bon Jovi comes on at the when Anthrax is there xD Scott and every one despised Bon Jovi and most of the glam bands, but why were they touring with wasp? Aren't they a glam band?
Because both were under Black Sabbath. Wasp were exceptional. Lots of metalheads refused to acknowledge that band as glam.
WASP was never a glam band lol. You can even talk to Blacklis Lawless himself about that one.
You can like Glam and Thrash metal at the same time :)
im talking about how scott says that type of music that exploits, and forces views on people is garbage meanwhile scotts in his band s.o.d writing songs like ''fuck the middle east'' ''speak english or die'.... just weird, thats all

scott looks like mel gibson in braveheart. funny how scott said satanic imagary in garbage when they would later make liberal use of pentagrams or baphamets or whatever... and s.o.d. would have the likes of morbid angel opening...
He was going bald so he shaved...Thats what people do.
Eyebrow
Cool Guys Back then! They looks like a Metal Band 🤘 This was before the ridiculous Comic and funny Shorts crap....
@itsgt216 sorry man :(
ajmaroudas He was balding.
Yeah it was premature baldness....Thats why he shaved it.
baldness can occur as early as 20 for men
scott doesn't look good with hair
lol satanists
They say that stuff about satanism yet they have no problem throwing a pentagram on everything with their logo. Hmmm...
It's typically a metal thing to do...
Poseurs. Never understood the hype of this mediocre band.
how is it a poser band? lmao
