Seems like the bass players are always the most laid back. Not to say frontmen aren't or drummers aren't, but Bello, Ellefson, Butler... all really chill guys.
This is just one of the reasons why Anthrax were always at the very top of my thrash metal list. Seem like such great guys. Down to earth and none of that rock star bullshit.
He made a couple of bass clinics here on Chile, and my brother went (i had to work). He took the time to shake hands with everyone, taught a few kids, and even a couple of drinks to some older guys. I love to see down to earth musicians of this level, it makes me proud to be a fan of this kind of guys.
I met him when I was like 16. It was at a Kiss Convention in New Jersey. He was totally cool. He posed for a picture & everything. I also met Joey YEARS later. He was also a nice guy. He stayed after a solo show & met EVERY fan in the building. I have always liked Anthrax best out of the "Big 4."
Yeah, unlike Charlie & Scott - well, according to a lot of people who meet them. I never met them, but this is what a lot of people say about Scott's & Charlie's personalities. Their fans view them as douchebags.
One of the true gentlemen of rock! Would be awesome to sit down and hear his stories, such a magnetic personality. Really like the interviewer too, overall great work!
Fucking love Anthrax. Man... the last question about dime... it got me going a little, too, and I never even met the guy. Frankie held it together, though. What a great interview. Most real interview I've watched in a long time.
Last summer, Mr Bello looked at me from the stage, pointed a pick at me, then threw it right in my hand. Sooooo starstruck, haha. Out of all the band members, Mr Bello is the most energetic out of all of them, and that says a little when you you see Ian or Belladonna jump around on stage. Just an awesome guy!
Nothing more refreshing than a humble rock star.... or any type of famous person. I mean, this guy isn't afraid to show his true self and its fuckin cool. Authenticity is what cool is.... and this dude is always shows an authentic side when he speaks. No showing off... no act... no 'look at me im better than you' bs attitude.... just himself as the person he is. Big respect.
Good One! I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. I hope you realize how lucky you are to get to meet and hang with some of the world greatest musicians. Keep it up!
I have met Frank a couple of times. He is a very human being. Definitely one of my favorite bass guitar players of all time. I love watching him on stage too. He loves his job!
The thing I love about this interview is that it doesn't feel like an interview, Frank just seems like he's having a good and friendly chat with Gruhamed.
Have met Frank twice, and both times, nicest guy. He was extremely cool to all the fans that were present. Signing and talking with all of them. Asking the fans questions too. Super engaging dude. First time I met them, Scott and Charlie seemed a little more aloof, but Rob, Frank, and John were amazing. Second time met them, Scott and Charlie were a ton better (people have bad days, it happens, didn't take it personal from first time met them) and Joey and Frank were amazing. Jonathan Donais seemed like had woken up recently, and I actually felt bad didn't ask him about Shadows Fall stuff. My buddy that went along with me for the meet & greet brought a Shadows Fall vinyl to have him sign, and he was really cool about it. Frank though, every time, he is the best. Super humble.
Frank rules. I've had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and has always been such a good, humble, down to earth guy. We're from the same neighborhood in the Bronx and we spent more time talking about landmarks than music.
Frank, Dave Ellefson, Jason Newsted all seem to be such cool dudes...its like all the bass players from the Big 4 are the most humble. Dunno about Tom hahahaha
Tom is pretty humble, but the fact that he’s always at the front of the stage (and constantly screaming) doesn’t really make him appear as such. He’s a really nice guy offstage though.
saw Anthrax for the first time this summer in Vienna, I was on the rail and this dude kept looking my way, making face and winking at me and other really cool stuff. :P Just thought I'd share :P
I had the same experience at Wacken 2013, Frank's just the best with his faces and winks, always encouraging everyone to sing along and rock. Such a cutie :P gonna see them again in 60 days, cannot wait :P
He also did the V in front of his mouth to me. I thought this was a bit outrageous, but I rolled with it. :D They put up a good show :p Have a nice time there, Unicorn :)))
You mean the peace sign? Dunno, does that mean something dirty or so? 54 days to go and I'm just getting more and more excited. They're really great performers. :D
The V in front of the mouth means something totally different than "peace" :D This sign means giving oral sex to a female. :D But they are showmen, soooooo........ :D
Are Anthrax basslines complex? I'm legitimately asking, I've never listened to them enough to learn their stuff but the few songs I know offhand have always struck me as pretty simple. Fast, but simple.
I love that Frank is so open and honest when asked questions. Just says what he believes and not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. If you haven't seen it yet you should check out metal head to head with Frank and Rudy Sarzo. ruclips.net/video/YPgR1jaSvOw/видео.html
+Justin Smulison And in the late 80's, "Antisocial" and "Who Cares Wins" got a decent amount of airplay when they did the tour with Exodus and Helloween.
a stand up guy used to see him @ Tower in Yonkers all the time when he lived off Jackson Ave - my drummer sold him an xmas tree one year said nothing but nice things about the guy
Saw Mill River Road fire right before Jackson Avenue Frank used to come to Tower records Yonkers all the time used to ring him and Charlie up all the time nice guys
Noticed, you are 2nd person in this comment section to call him "Jackson ave Frank" and I'm wondering why? Never heard of Jackson ave in Yonkers or in Throgs Neck, Bronx (where grew up)...however, I heard of Jackson street in Yonkers, but just not Jackson Avenue. Wondering why that nickname?
Frank Bello is the absolute fucking best!
He's the greatest, nicest guy. Always a treat when we cross paths.

Jarred yeah i wish Dethklok was a real Band i mean the band memebers
Who knew Frank Bello was such a cool and humble guy? This makes me love Anthrax even more.
It's just a shame that you don't find more musicians like him though
Yes me too man. What a great guy. I'm a HUGE Type O Negative fan but even more so Anthrax now.
This is just one of the reasons why Anthrax were always at the very top of my thrash metal list. Seem like such great guys. Down to earth and none of that rock star bullshit.

Frank has always been my fave from Anthrax. He seems so nice.
That's so cool that Frank's such a sentimental/emotional dude; you don't have to hide your feelings because everyone else thinks it's "NOT metal".
not giving a shit what people think about you and being honest and passionate, thats metal
A very passionate guy; it’s his Italian genes I bet!
I've always liked Frank Bello, and this just makes me like him that much more.
Frank always comes off as a fun and down to earth dude
Yeah, unlike Charlie & Scott - well, according to a lot of people who meet them. I never met them, but this is what a lot of people say about Scott's & Charlie's personalities. Their fans view them as douchebags.
Frank has the best stage presence out of the entire group. His energy is off the charts.
One of the true gentlemen of rock! Would be awesome to sit down and hear his stories, such a magnetic personality. Really like the interviewer too, overall great work!
Frank is so cool he immediately starts off very humble.
Fucking love Anthrax. Man... the last question about dime... it got me going a little, too, and I never even met the guy. Frankie held it together, though. What a great interview. Most real interview I've watched in a long time.
My Favorite bassist in my favorite web show. Fucking perfect.
Cheers! - G

Out of all the band members, Mr Bello is the most energetic out of all of them, and that says a little when you you see Ian or Belladonna jump around on stage. Just an awesome guy!
Frank comes off as one of the coolest and genuine people I've ever seen in an interview.

i'm mentally ill and i'm an anthrax fan
Tom Weaver explains a lot

Every time I met Frank, he's been the absolute coolest, much love for him.
I love the Graham Hartmann hes an awesome interviewer, real laid back and calm.
The thing I love about this interview is that it doesn't feel like an interview, Frank just seems like he's having a good and friendly chat with Gruhamed.
2 lovely fellas. Great interview!
Frank Bello is a beautiful human being, no badness about him, just the best person in the world.
Frank is an awesome person. I’m sure is is fun to hang out with. Thanks Frank for sticking with it all these years.
Have met Frank twice, and both times, nicest guy. He was extremely cool to all the fans that were present. Signing and talking with all of them. Asking the fans questions too. Super engaging dude. Man I could listen to him tell stories all day. This is awesome!
Really likeable person.
Frank IS THE BEST! Killer Bass player, musician, and straight shooter..great episode
Frank rules. I've had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and has always been such a good, humble, down to earth guy. We're from the same neighborhood in the Bronx and we spent more time talking about landmarks than music.
These are awesome, MORE MORE MORE
Frank Bello stand up dude.Anthrax rules!
Frank, Dave Ellefson, Jason Newsted all seem to be such cool dudes...its like all the bass players from the Big 4 are the most humble. Dunno about Tom hahahaha
Tom Araya is a really cool guy.
Trujillo too seems humble and cool.
Cliff was too, a bit introvert for some kind of things.
Araya is a talker, but he's so fucking funny Hhaah
Tom’s definitely a talker but he seems like a very humble person
Tom is pretty humble, but the fact that he’s always at the front of the stage (and constantly screaming) doesn’t really make him appear as such. He’s a really nice guy offstage though.
Tom loves to laugh and joke
LOVE THIS GUY SOOO MUCH

Frank is not only an amazing talent, who plays like a wildman on stage, he's one of the nicest guys and holds the important things close.
What an absolute legend gotta live this guy \m/
For what it's worth, I used to see Black Lodge on MTV quite a bit.
Anthrax was all over MTV around the Among the Living and I am the man era. In fact they hosted Headbangers ball.
He's look like a great guy ! Thanx for the interview.
Never seen an interview with FB, despite being aware of him since Anthrax started - what a splendid fellow.
How does he run around on stage like he does? Like I can barely move my head when playing complex stuff that fast
because HE'S THE MAN!
complex?
OnePlickyDood matt's probably a beginner or something
Playing for 30+ years probably helps
Are Anthrax basslines complex? I'm legitimately asking, I've never listened to them enough to learn their stuff but the few songs I know offhand have always struck me as pretty simple. Fast, but simple.
Damn, this guy, i'm just speechless. One of the best bass players ever, and so down to earth without any fake shit.. how can you be like that???
Frank your one of my favorite bass player's.
He’s such a cool guy! Cute and funny and id love to give him a hug! 😊❤
What a beautiful human being, I wish the guy was my relative.
and now no bands get played on MTV :P
Rumor has it that the M in MTV originally stood for Music. Not sure why, though, as MTV obviously has as much/little to with music as TLC ...
Bello was a musician during the golden age of music...
If I could interview one celebrity, it would be Frank Bello
charlie benante
It would be awesome to see Charlie and Joey on wikipedia fact or fiction 🤘🏻
Don't think he understood the concept of Fact or Fiction, hahah, such a great guy though, so emotive with his actions and thoughts
What a supper cool dude. Frank Bello personality reminds me a lot of Zakk Wylde
He seems way cooler than Zakk to me.
Both northeast coast bros. Thats why
Anthrax are just genuine, likeable dudes....never anything else but themselfs
I love that Frank is so open and honest when asked questions. Just says what he believes and not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. If you haven't seen it yet you should check out metal head to head with Frank and Rudy Sarzo. ruclips.net/video/YPgR1jaSvOw/видео.html
What a great interview
Awesome interview! Frank looks like my older brother.
He sounds like such a cool and down to earth dude wow.
I love Frank ..he is so down to earth (just like all the guys in Anthrax)...and soooo sexy
I love frank such a humble guy,i love anthrax too since ever. Gonna buy the rest of the catalog on vinyls to spin soon.
my fav bassist ever , wish i could meet him one day
Frank Bello is your favorite bassist's favorite bassist
A great guy! No bullshit. Just a genuinly wonderful dude
Amazing guy and amazing bass player. Very underrated.
This show is good, I can be here for hours, even though I have to go work jaja
I love the Iron Maiden Trooper sweatshirt
I am no longer mentally ill because i listen to Anthrax
Love you Frank!
Frank Bello is the coolest nicest rocker you will meet!
I do remember "only" and "room for one more" getting MTV play and not just on HB Ball.
+Justin Smulison And in the late 80's, "Antisocial" and "Who Cares Wins" got a decent amount of airplay when they did the tour with Exodus and Helloween.
Justin Smulison that album is killer. Sound of white noise.
dan lilker IS a great bassist, nuclear assault is one of my favourite bands of all time!
>MTV banned Anthrax period.
>We got a little bit of play
WHICH ONE IS IT?!
Dinobot2 Probably both. Maybe they banned the band after giving them a little bit of air time.
frickin honest. it's no wonder i love this band.
Dude you rock
a stand up guy used to see him @ Tower in Yonkers all the time when he lived off Jackson Ave - my drummer sold him an xmas tree one year said nothing but nice things about the guy
I like both Grumahed and Frank Bello! Dunno if it's just my laptop, but it's hard to hear anything!
I love Frank’s personality.
Why is the video so quiet?
I just want to say...what an amazing person.
What a guy. You rock Frank.
is it just me or is the volume really low on this recording? I've got it cranked up to the max and I struggling to hear Frank's answers.
AngryAgain thank god it's not just me! My ears are a little blocked anyway atm but I found this SUPER quiet
Got The Time? Was played on UK radio a lot at the time of it's release, not sure if I seen it on television much though
Im not rly big anthrax fan but frank bello is awesome guy damn
Frank Bello RULES!!!!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!!!
Hey Bello.... Never change!... Plz
Graham did one of those 😬faces when Frank said "wrong" before he was asked any questions lmao
Saw Mill River Road fire right before Jackson Avenue Frank used to come to Tower records Yonkers all the time used to ring him and Charlie up all the time nice guys

Frank is the man!
WARNING The next video you click on could permanently damage your hearing
bello is so real and legit!!!
I absolutely love these guys aside from their music. They always give great interviews.
It got me too, wow.
great video, but its really quiet
Frank is Charlie Benante's nephew. Thrash really runs in the family.
Frank Bello he is a bad ass bass player imo!
I love the tone he gets out of his rig. Definitely not a "warm" bass sound. More the cold welfare peanut butter that tears the bread.
interesting comparison lol
I am the man was played on MTV on Headbangers ball often.
is there any footage of the house destroying contest?
Cool dude!
3:07 never related to anything more in my life
What was the intro song?
He such a funny guy!
I’d like to see Zack Galifinakis do Between Two Ferns with Metal guys like this.
Frank Bello is another key example of why Bass kicks so much ass!!
you guys should do one on Dan liker
