Greg, it is people like you who help everyone have a better holiday. Your videos provide valuable information when planning a trip. I appreciate the effort it takes to create them. Thank you for this, indeed!
Hahaha I love them roads 😂 I wouldn't think twice about them roads in my old van... Thank you for the mention and as for the rubbish you can only do what you can do Good video also I enjoyed that.
@@GregVirgoe Yeah that water will be full of little fish and white sands. Ideal for swimming. It reminds me very much of the water around Ibiza and Formentera.
I served two tours in Bosnia and even in the aftermath of civil war the beauty of the place was evident. I hope to visit again one day, just need to build my camper first! Lol
Great video, Croatia looks amazing, stunning scenery, drone shows off the lovely coastlines, looking forward to seeing the next chapter & one of our favourite places as you head north, Slovenia 🇸🇮
All these You Tubers making artistic shots of their high tech coffee making apparatus and there’s Greg putting a teaspoon of Douwe Egberts finest instant into his mug #keepingitreal👊🏼😆
You are living the dream! I've always wanted to make a road trip to Italy and Croatia, hopefully dreams come true soon. Love the video, it's a well done vlog, sir.
Never been there but it looks lovely. The island would be a great place for a VW dealer - “Marco’s Polo’s “ I love wandering around out of the way places just to see what’s what, even single track roads instead of bigger roads - now that’s got me into one or two tight situations but great to look back on! I must admit to being quite jealous of you two - enjoy!
Greg, Thanks for that. Wife and me dipped out last year as the promised date of July for the delivery of our new van didn’t happen until Mid. November. So for the first time in about 10 years we had to stay home!
It was very quiet wherever we went. Nice if you like your own company. Shortage of places to eat out or have an evening drink. But minor drawback for such a beautiful country.
Nice one Greg. Another very informative vlog for people considering Croatia in the off-season. Having just toured Croatia throughout December and January ourselves, we can vouch for everything you said about wild camping with a van in the off-season. We felt completely at ease and never had any problems with the police at all. Its also one hell of a beautiful country to visit!👍
@@GregVirgoe We got very lucky with the weather to be honest. We did have a couple of grey days but for the majority of time, it was around 17°c and clear. Coming from the North of England, thats summer weather 😅 All the best. Look forward to your take on Plitvicka next! 👍
Greatvlog again Greg it's years since we were in Dubrovnik (then named) and we stayed in curricula twenty odd years ago so you have put it back on out things to visit list this year many thanks again stay safe and well from bonnie Scotland
Thank you guys have been watching you from the van build days so in formative we have a little VW T 2 camper At the moment which we have restored over the past few years and are hoping to tour the UK this year After which we are hoping to do our own build look forward to your next film .stu
From what I've seen on photos and videos in the past, Croatia is definitely a beautiful country I'd like to visit. And that old walled town! How many times on holiday 🤔 your waiting for someone to get out of your shot when taking a photo of a scenery 😀 😄
I'm not a local, just some German tourist who has been in Ctoatia somewhere between 40 and 50 times. Actually you were pretty lucky with the weather on Korcula, the weather you had in Omis in more typical for November. There is a reason why Croatia is not a winter destination like southern Spain or Portugal. You can be lucky, but usually between middle of September and beginning of October the weather changes from sunny and hot to cloundy/rainy/miserable. My favorite time of the year for Croatia is May and early June. July/August it is too hot and too crowded with tourists.
Beautiful place and I was amazed how deserted the town was on the Saturday afternoon. Lucky you didn't get reported for anti social behaviour whispering in the alley to be heard. 😗
Yet again another fantastic video, glad to see you got the drone Gregg 😊 which did you go for? Keep up the great work and I look forward to the next 1. Oh and when will you be doing this other van you talked about converting? Cheers
Because we don’t have windows we don’t get any solar gain at that end of the van so it stays a lot cooler during the day. Then directly over the bed we have a Maxxfan which we can put on very low supplying cool air over the bed in the hot nights. We have camped in 38°C daytime temps and the vans has stayed 10° cooler inside. We keep reflective blinds on the cab to also cut down any solar gain.
Another great video from Greg and Lou, we’re really enjoying following your journey as Croatia looks fantastic and certainly somewhere we’ll aim for. Can you please give me an idea of how much sightseeing is possible for someone with limited mobility, I’m OK for 300-400 yards at a time but slopes really find me out. Appreciate any comments 👍
Some of the hills are a challenge. The walk down from the cemetery to the town was steep. Are you able to take advantage of disabled parking. There were spaces in the town you could use. 👍🏼😃
@@GregVirgoe Thanks for taking the time to reply. I do have a blue badge, although I don’t know the legality of using a UK badge since Brexit, also we are in a 7mtr A class so both width and length can be a challenge for parking. I guess a lot of our sightseeing will be from the motorhome seats much like being in the Alps which is fine but some towns are just too enticing to miss! Looking forward to watching some more of your adventures, and thanks again.
That took me back to our visit to the island. When we eventually get Ralph finished we will be heading to Croatia and Omis looks amazing. Do you have a route of the whole trip anywhere mate?
Yes we want to go back to Omis for a proper holiday and spend a bit more time exploring. Sorry I don’t have a map. We normally make up these trips as we go along. 😃👍🏼
I use a subscription service by Epidemic Sounds. I pay them an annual fee so I can use the music without any copyright issues. There are over 35,000 tracks to chose from. I glad you like my choices 👍🏼
That's really beautiful. Did you get an opportunity to go swimming in the Adriatic Sea? It should often be almost 20C even in November, one of the locals once told me.
You can use Drone assist in the uk to give you safe fly zones. There are restrictions on flying distance when you take your test. That’s the best way forward. 😊
Hi Greg, great vlog as usual. We’re hoping to get down there next September with our dog on board. How dog friendly are the beaches there and are there many restrictions ? Cheers
We have stayed in temp’s as high as 38°C and inside the van has been nearly 10° cooler. The good insulation acts like a cool box keeping the transmission of heat out. The best thing you can do is have external reflective blinds for the windows as solar gain is the biggest heat source in vehicles.

In Croatia, you can camp wherever you want ... especially outside the city, nobody cares, not even the police! Just do not light a fire, in the open or in the woods. Then the penalty can be very high, especially in summer.
