I’m in Southern California too, I love my home state, but I want to move to the east coast, NY, NJ or PA. The weather out there is so my thing, plus having a special friend out that way is nice too.
We are leaving NorCal and moving to Austin! It’s impossible to buy a house here!

As someone who moved back in 2016, I feel like it's gotten worse lol! Don't get me wrong, I love being from Atlanta, but things has gotten overcrowded and too expensive. Also everytime you look up they building a new overpriced apartments.

I lived in Atlanta for 15 years. I'm now living in Africa. I'm loving it here. I also lived in California 2 years (Costa Mesa) I loved living in Cali, it was just too expensive.

I am leaving Los Angeles and going back to Atl, and I am very excited to move back. I became plant-based here, learned so much about myself and being alone, but I want to be closer to family and friends.

I think this is the year of moving back to family! I’ve been away from my hometown of Philadelphia Pa for over 50 yrs & I moved back home in January. Don’t regret it one bit! 🥰
We moved with an toddler out of state and I regret not hiring movers. Get all the help you can!

100% agree with this for a cross-country move! I would get estimates and check reviews, though. Our movers sucked (they did such a bad packing job), so for this next move, I am packing myself and just getting the movers for actual transport.
@@NancyCavillones definitely check reviews!!! And see what the quote entails. We ended up waiting a month for our stuff and also it was dropped off 3 hours away from us and I had to drive 3 hours to release it with my 11 month old baby. The other moving co was furious for me when I showed up with a baby on my back and covered in barf.
Girl pay for packers. Packing with a toddler is a nightmare for everyone, just pack what you need for a few days, make the trip, and hang with family or do a mini vacation or whatever while the packers pack and move all your stuff. It’s so worth the cost.
So expensive though!! 🥵

You can’t take the east coast outa ya. My in-laws are from NY and they’ve been here for 50 years. They still don’t belong.
I'm from the Midwest, lived in San Diego for 11yrs, and still can't find 1 level headed friend. You will enjoy Cali, but feel dead out here.

I’m from Cali and have been living in Atlanta for about 22 years. I’m back in Cali for the summer spending time with my family. I can’t wait to get back to Atlanta!

i'm born and raised in la, but i've been to almost every major city in the country and i've lived on the east coast and the south. couldn't wait to get back to cali. i felt most at home here. i imagine if you're not from a place, you don't really feel it's your home.
It’s how I feel about Chicago. I can’t imagine living in Georgia or anywhere south.
My grandmother retired and left California went back home lol I miss her. This was 9 years ago.
Los Angeles was definitely an interlude for me as well. I figure many people feel that way. I'm still on the west coast, but boy, do I miss living in Georgia sometimes.

I moved to Atlanta in the late 80s, left twice, moved back twice. It’s my adopted home. Welcome back!
Very interesting how you talk about LA feeling like a long trip, my sister did the same thing, realized one day her graduation vacay to Greece ended up being 8 years long and came back with a kid and one on the way 😂 so glad to have her back now although she had a GREAT time! 😊

I moved out to the west coast in my 20s, it was so much fun & I'm glad I did it, but it wasn't home. After many more travels, I finally moved back to the east coast in January. The familiarity has been so good for me. I'm super excited to raise my daughter here. Safe travels!!!

I’ve lived in Cali for 26 years from NY and it still doesn’t feel like home. Beautiful out here especially the weather. But I definitely don’t miss the NY winters. Enjoy your new home.

Excited for your move! I've read that the LA scene is quite difficult to navigate with the expense! We moved to FL from NJ right during the COVID shut down and it was the perfect time. I love being down south! God bless you!

i was so glad i had my baby in LA back in 90s. miss the culture there but i kno its way different now. your babygirl is sooo beautiful! it'll be wonderful in ATL cuz can sense ur vibe of relief. Best to you and baby's future!
Good luck on the move! I moved from the east coast to Texas and i was very stressed even though i planned a year in advance. My only advice is to take packing breaks and ask for help when you feel overwhelmed. It will all work out in the end just take it day by day ☺️

I don’t need to move anywhere because wherever I go there I am! I have always found my peace from within and I make my house “home” wherever I happen to live. I’ve had a rich, full life with almost no money but I know that do work for everyone.

I wish you the best on your move. I had relatives that used a moving company that packed and loaded everything up for them. Then they flew there ahead of the movers. I think that was probably the smoothest move I've ever seen. I've moved a couple of times and wished I had the help with packing and unloading things. I wish you all the best on your move. Yay! Congratulations on your move to Atlanta :) I grew up in Florida, but I’ve lived in Atlanta for the last 13 years, and this city feels like home for me. I’ve never lived on the west coast, but I visited my sister in Colorado before, and even though I thought it was cool, I was happy to come home to Atlanta. The east coast just feels like home.
I feel like Atlanta is an amazing city, and I feel like it has so much to offer, but it’s cheaper than places like NYC and LA.

We spent a year trying out California (San Francisco in our case) and moved back east too. It wasn't for us and I hated being so far from family. Good luck! You're going to love it. It's really hard to live in CA.

@T T I'm 59 yrs old, lost my job two months ago and decided I didn't want to go back to work. I will take my nice little nest egg and live in Mexico for at least 6 months a yr. The cost of living is much more affordable and I can finally travel like I want to. I plan to visit every city I can in Mexico and enjoy the rest of my life.
