    Great viewing over breakfast! I did not realise how simple the steering mechanism is in both function and adjustment. Thanks for that!

    Restoring my 72 MGB and am presently rebuilding the front suspension and braking systems. Looking at the rack today and I found this video really helpful. Great explanation on how it works complete with a look at the parts that comprise it. Thank you for taking the time to make the video and post it!

    I am rebuilding my steering rack and your demonstration was a great help in understanding what to check and especially about the shimming. Thank you.

    Thank you for the accurate detailing in this subject. Before there was, before i found you, one video on the rack pinion. Seems i have some items i need to recheck for safety. Having some side to side wheel movement in my new rack, when car up and wiggle the wheels! Then wondering if should be all tight, the whole rack, thank you.

    interesting thx, never disassembled a steering rack. Always nice to see what products other people use. For suspension parts like that subframe I use Brantho Korrux. The DS3000 is good for track use, but bad for road use and not very effective when they are cold? I think MOT in our country doesn't like braided hoses because there is not a visual check possible if the hoses are cracked or not. On a standard rubber hose you can see immediately if they are decayed or not. Just a guess

    Maybe using paint remover first would’ve made it easier? Great job as always! Thank you.

    Nice job ! My 67 MGB GT steering rack is leaking both sides , and my gaiters are plenty with oil...Is it possible to fix that sort of problem ? I would like to keep the original , and don't buy a repro... Kind regards !

    where did you find the new spring? I need it for the steering rack of the old mini but I can't find the overhaul kit

  • @joelo9571
    @joelo9571 2 года назад +1

    This is a great video. However, the MG parts online shop does not have those inner springs for sales. They want you to buy the whole assembly. Do you have the dimension of those springs? So I can find it in some other place. Thank you!

    Disappointed you didn't overhaul the brake calipers, especially if you taking the car to the race track. WD-40 and paint are not good for the rubber piston dust covers!

    • @D3Sshooter
      @D3Sshooter  3 года назад

      Brent, they were in a good condition ... rubbers were having vaseline ( acid less on them) before spraying.... WD40 was to get the dirt off

    Schitterend werkje, beetje vuil in het begin, maar het resultaat is fantastisch. Btw, deze verf ken ik nog niet, maar het ziet er iets heel degelijks uit.
