I was following a lead from a conversation topic ("What Are You Listening To Right Now?") started years ago and still ongoing on a boombox-collectors' website. Parts of the conversation "thread" are sent to me via e-mail and I was following one of the leads for a different, more recent song ("People On The Move"; I think the performing artist is Wood Allen -- one "Y" shy of the same name as the famed director-actor). A look at the right-hand margin's list of suggestions here on RUclips made me notice this song file and the singer, so I clicked on that tab instead. And so I've done it: I've finally tracked down this song and the (actual) name of the performer: Vicky Leandros (though I seem to remember my dear mom mentioning the singer's name differently, such as Vicky Sue Anderson or whatever, when my dad -- God rest his soul -- had this song as a 45-RPM seven-inch vinyl record in West Germany in the 1970s). A check of the Wikipedia website tells one that she, apparently, is actually Greek, born Vassiliki Papathanasiou around August 1949 (if one's not being rude in discussing a lady's age ). She apparently moved with her parents to Germany after her career-minded musician dad first went there in the 1950s (and before her parents' eventual divorce). She has had significant success with her long singing career, even in recent years and she has also been a politician (for instance, becoming deputy mayor of Piraeus, Greece until a 2008 decision to stop trying to juggle demanding politics and her singing career). Sentimentally, perhaps one can say that it seems that (as of 2010) she, a mother of three, has maintained much of the voluminously beautiful hair that she had in -- and perhaps before -- the Seventies. Returning to music matters, although this song was uploaded to RUclips over six years ago, there aren't many comments about its RUclips file. Still, over eighteen thousand views suggest that there are many others who appreciate the memories this record brings back. Thanks for sharing.
