Hi Carly! Hope all is well. I'm glad you figured out how to solve the issue with your heating system. Thank you for sharing your time, thoughts, and experiences. Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay happy! Everything else is manageable! Pops
Interesting video of real van life - don't see much about The Netherlands. Some very interesting places there. I was glad that those adjustable pliers didn't short across your 12v batteries - they would melt. only 12v but lots of current.
Yes, that’s the trouble when you don’t know what you’re doing. I’m very glad they didn’t short across the battery too. There is more coming on The Nertherlands in my next video. I love the place.
@@TheCuriousCollective_Official I can highly recommend a small medieval city called Zwolle - if youre anywhere near - I lived there for a year. It's a great place to cycle too..cyclists have priority whatever..
🔧 Well done! 🙂 You should put together an 'essentials' Tool Kit 🧰🛠️🪛to keep in the van because you never know when you're gonna need a hammer or spanner! 😉You can buy cheap tools in Action or B&M 😃
Absolutely love you're chanel, your realism and the good with bad. You're 100% genuine and people pick up on that quickly with so many chanel offerings out there these days. Your channell will he huge in a reasonable amount of time as your real, funny, relatable , funny and charming. I'm out of compliments but yeah great chanel!
Good on Ya Carly for sorting out your issues. I think having your self a tool kit is as essential as the coffee maker and the burger king :) I noticed that when working on the batteries you laid your spanner down on top of the batteries. Best not to do this and always prep your self a tool area off to the side of your work space before you start. You can place loose screws and nuts there as well. You may have an isolating switch for your batteries.......if not would be good to get one installed. Good time to get thermal underwear :) Take care and enjoy the ride.
Hi Carly, new to Vanlife so tahing in all advice. Recently tried a night near Sherwood forest but the newly installed diesel heater would not work with less than 10volts. We had fridge and lights on so no heat. Survived and on 2nd night out had electric hook up. All a learning curve. All the best and will be following you . Cheers!
I screamed when you put that adjustable spanner next to the live wire on the battery 😮😮😮😮😮 And yes your right it’s called wild camping if you sleep in a van €500 fine Great video
Belgium is bleedin cold in winter, Bruge has the equivalent of the Kendal pencil museum, on a cold day their chip (French fries) museum is packed, l recall it being €7 entry as on one visit me & my daughter went 3 times. 😂
Hello in Temse Belgium, there is a parking site for campers, and the name is De Zaad, it is paying and you can stay for a maximum of 3 days and you can see water and electricity. It is just for information
I’m glad you made it back safely to the van. I love seeing Bailey walking along with you and enjoying herself, she’s so cute 😍🥰 please take care and be safe… I’ve been subscribed to your channel for a few weeks now and always look forward to your videos. Hope you’re managing to keep warm ❤
Great video and glad you sorted everything out. But im surprised you dont have a small toolset also as an electrician always keep terminals tight as it will cause you lots of problems and a battery switch for emergencies. Take care and happy Christmas and New Year
When you get the chance it would be a good idea to get yourself a kill switch fitted. The batteries should not be disconnected while the solar panel is live as the solar power had nowhere to put the charge and it can knacker the charge controller..
Next year you could do EU in Oct/Nov, and then Morocco (No Visa + 90days stay) then do EU for one month, going back to UK. Suggest investment in Calor gas heater as a spare...?
PLEASE don't tell people where you are. Be at least two or three days ahead in a different place. Don't tell people where your going to either. There must be at several stalkers planning things by now. It's best to post your videos around 10 days clear to be completely safe. Please listen to good advice and travel to warmer climates as it's gets colder, saves a lot of money and is what millions of campers do.
Be proud of yourself for sure , you just manifested yourself into a van mechanic and 12 volt electrician.
Welcome to camper van living. Lol 😁 glad you sorted. Now can you tow me back to France lol 😁

What type and size leisure batteries do you have?
Grand Place, Belgium, spent NY there once, amazing vibe, good waffles 🧇 and circa 800 different beers? Amazing time!

Yes, I really do need a switch on there. It’s not the most ideal set up at the moment.
You might have a fusebox with switches hidden somewhere, i know mine does but that might be just for the 240v juice.
I haven’t found it yet if I do.
Oh dear, technology!

If you donot want to go to Morocco. You can go around the other way via Croatia, then onto Montenegro ( No Schengan = 90 days No Visa)
You aren't in Germany, are you? 💔
No, I am back in the UK now.
I hope the ginger juice doesn’t turn your hair red 😅
HAHA!

Good advice
I'm staying under my bed from now on.
So true lots of head cases out there.
