1:10 For someone reading modern history rn, it would be interesting to notice that while GOI Act 1858 brought Indians into Civil Services, the number of them holding important positions was very less. Here, until 1938, out of 8 officers, only 1 seems to be an Indian. So, britishers were very less trustworthy of Indians.
However, it's also interesting how in the later years, officers were frequently changed and the only officer to serve twice in the region was V Subbarayan. It would be interesting to draw a parallel that maybe this officer hold the Britisher's trust in very high regard.
