It's always difficult to watch those closing credits due to the intense nostalgia I feel watching it. I get way too in my feelings about it. These years were some of the best of my life, and it's crazy realizing how fast the time goes by. So bittersweet.

When I was a kid, GL was the last of the soap lineup on CBS, and it always ended at 3pm, which is about when I got home from school. I’d always watch CBS on days home from school and this song signified the end of the magic world of daytime TV that I only saw on sick days or holidays. Now it’s symbolic of the bygone era that was the golden age of soaps. It sure is missed.

@@hawrnballIf you lived in the Boston TV market in 1996, WBZ would have it as the first soap of the day airing at 10 AM. Some affiliates began airing GL in the AM to help boost low ratings.
Daytime TV when soap operas existed should have shown its soaps in the morning and had all of its game shows and talk shows in the afternoon

Guiding Light's Viewer Feedback Line is deactivated, as the 900 number is not operative anymore. And Guiding Light came to an end on September 18, 2009 with its final episode, and all of Arizona and Florida were happy to see a CBS Daytime Soap end its run, and all of Indiana was sad to see it end too!!

The best thing about seeing this is the memories of WISH-TV when they would cut in for severe weather coverage in the middle of guiding light. One minute you’re watching part of the storyline of the episode of guiding light, and the next minute you see Steve Bray, Angela Buckman, Sean Ash, Randy Oliss, or ken Brewer or a combination of the five and a view of the radar. NO Jeffrey/Richard/Edmund/ San Cristobel, no Doris Wolfe, Ashlee Wolfe, Rafe, Natalia (who I had no interest in until her interactions with Olivia), no Cyrus Foley, etc...then yes, I would be all for a GL reboot. It would be great to see them being the show back (The Bauers, Spauldings, Reardons, Grant's, Lewises) and have Gina Tognoni's Dinah Marler be more of the central figure. Cady McClain would be great as Cassie Layne, Jonathan, Tammy would be great to see as well.
