If I'm not mistaken I cast both of those sink plungers in polyurethane rubber. It's mad to think those plungers have been in my house and then featured in a sketch with Harry & Paul!
This was great fun to shoot, Im the first BBC exec leading the kids into the Blue Peter Garden, and the getting exterminated in the next scene, superb programme
This is well done! That being said, they almost never cut back in the day because it was very expensive, which is why there are flubbed lines and scenes like the infamous Zarbi colliding into the camera. This might have been enough to get them to cut, but just barely.
In the early days, flubbed lines, mistakes, etc where kept in because they couldn't be taken out. It was all recorded live. Doctor Who wasn't prerecorded before transmission back then.
@@jonos138 Hi, Doctor who wasn't recorded live never has been, the earlier episodes were made as live like on a stage with actors improvising the fluffed lines etc because only around 4 cuts per episode were allowed because of the cost of the 2 inch video tape was so expensive back then
@@jonos138 it wasn't broadcast live , it has always been recorded onto 2 inch video tape , like i said around 4 cuts were allowed for fluffed lines etc before the final edit and think about it ,if it was broadcast live it wouldn't exist today to watch on Dvd or bluray box sets as most live broadcasts of any tv show were not recorded .
Dalek AD (Space Museum Dalek) who speaks and smashes the wall was refurbished, operated and voiced by me (Tom's Refurbishments) and Ben May from The Sons Of Skaro built, operated and voiced Dalek Ray (Power of the Daleks) throughout the episode.
Excellent Tom, I was just about to post “where did they get those original props from” - absolutely awesome work sir! I really enjoyed that short sketch!!!
The one without the shoulder slats is owned by Dean Stoner of the Sons Of Skaro Dalek group. I fully refurbished it under my trade name Tom's Refurbishments and operated it for this programme and my mate Ben May built and operated the other Dalek.
I was disturbed by ‘ The Singjng ringing Tree’ , and still am to this very day. It was on a shown on a Monday , after Blue Peter and before Magic Roundabout. The dwarf was a horrible little git, and the thought of this makes me feel uneasy to this very day …

You're correct, and fantastic plungers they are too! I'm the slatted dalek in the foreground. Had so much fun filming this!
@@Tardis102 fantastic Daleks Ben! I wish I was with you filming that. Looks great fun! What did Paul Whitehouse say about your Dalek?

That was harsh - just being in the Blue Peter Garden would have been enough.
I love to see the whole segment, that was brilliant
A wonderful throw back to my "black & white" childhood ... Brill !
This is well done!

You'd have thought they would have cut that last few seconds for the dvd release..

@@stevedickson5853 I used the wrong word. I meant 'broadcast live', that's why mistakes where left in.

I love that scene.
My younger brother hid behind the couch, fond memories.
0:15 Paul Whitehouse as The 1st Doctor 😆
There won't be a better bit of comedy produced anywhere in the world this year, can't wait to see it.
Our settee had bogie’s behind it 😮
That was harsh treatment of the kids - just being in the Blue Peter Garden would have been enough.
Brilliantly bonkers.
Brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
Oh I needed this
Top marks for recreating the original extermination fx! 🖒
Did the Dalek asked to be excused because he had an appointment, or wanted a smoke break?
Smoke break, fag usually means cigarette in Britain
Brilliant 😁
Love the turn in took.
The ending!! 😂😂😂😂
Wait, so they just sacrificed the children for lying O_O
yes
Unfortunately, Boris Johnson slipped through the net
** Anakin enters the chat **
"Say what now?"
What!?!(10th Doctor was shocked!)
For not watching the show to scare them into obedience they needed exterminated. Not being fully under control made them a threat to English rule.
This is amazing, got a good laugh out of me 😂.
This sketch is very similar to real 'bloopers'. 'Bugger, I've Lost them' and the over acting Dalek - ruclips.net/video/361QxJxY7kM/видео.html
Nice! Also, you do have my fave scene from this show? (The Oneness ident mock)
Best bit , most of the programme was toothless PR
Its really the Pinewood garden
The garden was Chiswick House. The interior shots were at Pinewood.
I don't remember a black assistant in Hartnell's era 🤔🤔🤔
Why not?. Waris Hussein directed an Unearthly Child and Marco Polo
No-one notice Chris Chibnall as Director in this clip? Ha ha.
No that’s not Chris Chibnall
@@marwoodrobinson673 It is. Idiot! The one talking to the Dalek. FOOL!!
Where are these Daleks from? This Planet Earth? They look brand new

@@tomconnor8686 they are fantastic!
What was this from? It certainly looks recent if Paul hasn't been fishing with Bob lately...
It was called The Lovebox in the Corner of Your Room. Broadcast on BBC2 and available on iPlayer. It was pretty good.
* in your Living Room
@@mgthestrange9098 I've just bought more polyurethane because of this. I'll be casting more plungers again soon!
Think I hid behind a cushion.
In the 60's i was never the bravest kid in town but Dr. Who never disturbed me in the slightest. I remember laughing at it though.
Well
I was disturbed by ‘ The Singjng ringing Tree’ , and still am to this very day. It was on a shown on a Monday , after Blue Peter and before Magic Roundabout. The dwarf was a horrible little git, and the thought of this makes me feel uneasy to this very day …
The Fast Show did a sketch based on that
Find >> Spike milligan Pakistani Dalek
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This programme was a bit of a misfire... loved the Dr. Who references of course but overall... meh.
Watched the whole programme - absolute rubbish. I may have laughed out loud once.
What a sense of humour you have 😂
agreed, it was terrible
The Story of the Twos was brilliant. What happened with this???...
It was very poor bordering on embarrassing. I have seen much better from Enfield and Whitehouse.
