Thank you for making these videos of Carl Jung’s work. I had a spiritual awakening in July after suffering from decades of depression. Without your videos I don’t know if I would have had this opportunity to reclaim my being from the shadows. This is a ton of work I’m finding but the most worth it thing I can find in life.
Another amazing journey through the Red Book. You’re making Jungians look silly with all their degrees and ‘knowledge’. You show us we are all truly intelligent without the need to follow a syllabus. It is all there!
Jungians, a special bunch. I think they think backwards, upside down and then forward to get different perspective on the human condition. If everyone concurs, no diversity.
22:37 "How can you become if you never are? Therefore you need your bottommost, since there you are. But therefore you also need your heights, since there you become." wow that is a statement.
Good day Joseph, I’ve come across your studies of Jung at a pivotal time in my life. So many alignments are being illuminated and offering much needed clarity to some of the experiences and sensations I seem to be having. As you likely know this can be quite a solitary, sometimes lonely path, and after listening to your videos I feel a kindredness that is akin to discovering water in the desert. My hope to potentially cultivate further dialogue which may illumine the breadcrumbs of understanding or at least some perspective along this journey. As a psychology major and lover of all things consciousness I want to thank you for the time you’ve invested in this material.
"What a danger and burden is vanity. There is nothing about which one could not be vain. Nothing is more difficult than to define the limits of vanity. One who creates should be especially wary of success, though needs it. ~ C. G. Jung
OMG! Your quote in the final thoughts section was too good. “Active imagination is not actively imagining what you wish, but allowing the psyche space to become active itself.” What a great video Joesph, I noticed the video/audio quality continues to improve. Are you still creating the entire project alone or do you now have a team helping out?
I don't remember exactly when I became conscious but I do remember I was unable to see the beauty of flowers and then I was years later. I also remember seeing my hands and saying "wow I exist" in my own childish words.
Another masterpiece. It’s mind boggling how you take Jungs red book and guide us through its chapters. I’ll have to watch this a few more times to capture it all. 🙏 Bless you.
Hola aloha hello ja!! I am pleased today that I find you. Halfway here, just a leg on my way to have a listen to the red. Then the water. Today was the day to hear,
Don't worry about my place in the circus. You just take care of yourself. You're very beloved in the community and family. No reason to get tangled up in things you don't control. Have a blessed day.
this guy is like the embodiment of Kaa. My recommendation before exploring the depths is to read Steven kings’ FairyTale. searching for wholeness is more dangerous than you think.
It seems to me that the moon is a symbol of the Self. "There is no doubt that the moon is the author and contriver of mortal bodies." i.e. the egoic subdivisions. But I find it very difficult to connect that to a dream I had: I am at my parents house talking to my brother. In the corner of my eye I see that outside the full moon shines. Excitedly I go outside. It looks very beautiful and I realise that there are two moons. I remember that I knew that that was going to happen (referring to this month of august. There are actually two full moons. one at the 1. of august and the other of the 30. of august). I am filming one of the moons and as I look closer I realise that the outer layer that I thought was the moon, is actually a halo comprised of coiled up strands of color. It looked like strings made out of rainbows. Not that that was already pretty exciting, I realise there are countless of these moons with those rainbowstrings in the nightsky now. I am baffled. Suddenly the moon that I was filming floats down to earth towards me. I am scared. When I look at it, it seems so alive, somehow like an alien. I begin to pray and my family tries to comfort me. The moon is now this ball sized light entering my head. I think the substance of the ball is so thick that I can't breathe, but as I try I can breathe just fine. I also realise that I am physically breathing and have woken up. For almost half a year it felt like there was something missing in me, almost like the moon made me whole again, although I can't pinpoint it down to just this dream. Was I connecting back to the depths (being)? But why were there twin moons and later countless moons on the night sky? Isn't there supposed to be just the one Self?
Maybe this will help. Sure, we are one Self. A term not often used but which I like is supraconscious self. Ordinary psychology is about mind, emotions, and behavior. Transpersonal psychology, a sub area of psychology as a whole, is about all that but adds and integrates with it higher mind, what most think of as spirituality. Taking much from Jung, the transpersonal therapist assists the client (not patient) with becoming on all levels, physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. Dream interpretation is part of it. Sharing your personal visions is part of it. The trans-personal goes beyond the personal, one’s own conscious and unconscious mind, to the supraconscious, the depths of the depths Jung might say. It’s the part of you that’s the part of All. Your dream reflects this. You look up, beyond. From earth, the place of your origin. Houses in dream symbology represent the house of self, its walls your ego structure. The dream’s telling you how much your parents influenced you, structured you. You express no sense of discomfort in that house so I’ll assume that influence was benign and loving. But the dream-your message from yourself to yourself about yourself-is clearly calling you outside of, away from childhood limitations. It is literally saying Look up. Look beyond. Go above your earthly, inherited limits. The moon is a classic, long time symbol for emotions. Perhaps the dream invites you to look at your emotional life, emotional self, to bring it down to earth. But the moon is Diana, Hecate, Selene-study those as symbols. The rainbow is the goddess Iris who delivers messages to earth. In many cultures the rainbow clearly connects heaven to earth, earth to heaven and so is called the rainbow bridge. In your dream the moons themselves are rainbow-like messengers, connectors. Two primary moons suggest Gemini, perhaps a split or division of some type that your dream asks you to consider. After that, it’s as if your Self says While you’re here, go for broke, think more broadly. What do your emotions connect with? How many bright souls are in your supraconscious sky? Connect with them. Don’t you know you’re more than your tiny, earth-bound self? A lovely dream, dear soul. I believe the ancients would have called such a dream an initiation dream. It’s a crossroads, an invitation. The rest of the interpretation is on you. Blessings. (Knew I should read this comment today.)
@@alainaaugust1932 Thank you for your thorough response. For long I thought that basically everyone has a copy of the collective unconscious inside but I am not so sure about that anymore, it seems like we all are tapping into the same collective unconscious when we dare to go beyond the personal unconscious. Almost like when I go there I am not alone anymore in my mind, maybe that is what you mean with the supraconscious self. It is good that you point out the beginning of the dream, I wasn't really thinking about the home and my family. Yes I hold my family very dearly. Me and my brother tend to talk about so many things for hours on end, often we are so involved in talking that we forget about our surroundings. The dream seems to suggest to me that outside of that there is a marvelous world worth exploring (outside of thinking, i.e. outside of mental constructions). That outside is what I am suggested to explore. I guess that is also where the emotions lie, to really know and undestand them is to experience them, fear was/is a big factor for me. I am not very familiar with Diana, Hecate, Selene or Iris so it is good that you bring them to my attention. From what I have gathered in this short time I found a ritual that seems fitting. Apperently there is a wicca tradition called "drwaing down the moon", where the High-priestess goes into a trance and basically calls for the moon (godess/tripple godess) to come down and speak through her. That feels similar to the dream, although I wasn't intentionally calling the moon down. Oh wow I just realised that filming the moon is like trying to capture it, to put it into ones pocket (i.e. put it into a artifical image/video format). In that context the moon coming down and entering my body is her way of showing me that the only way to "capture" this reality is to live it out, to embody it. The rainbows were very strange, they were not emitting light themselves, it seemed like they were solid strings. Almost like the moons produced a rainbowlike silk (I remember Jung talking about a connection between the moon and spiders). So it is kind of fitting that in some believes the rainbow is seen as something one could walk on to get to the spirit world. So again, thank you for the suggestions!
I would like to get a take on this, as you promised to get back to but never did: 34:12 "your soul went to the moon to the preserver of souls thus the soul moved towards death I went into the inner death and saw that outer dying is better than inner death and I decided to die outside and to live within for that reason I turned away and sought the place of the inner life" Is the moon the same as the mountain metaphor of our own heights, and is there a final sanctuary in the heights, i.e. moon/soul, that is not found in the depths? Or is the moon the Self and therefore whole? And if then, how can it escape the howling of the human animal (34:00) ?
I'm thinking our entire interface, ala' Donald Hoffman, is a form of active imagination. Maybe the otherness within active imagination is like otherness in "Objective" Reality. But the real question is how do we jig our interface to get a better view of the aliens!? FNORD
Great channel, will continue to explore
Thank you Bother for your videos. You are doing great job for Us. Thank You again!
There is nothing more holy then finding your place in the sun... Thank you, Joseph for your beautiful nature... 😇🥰
Jung speaks through you, meaning the logos flows naturally, not losing meaning between the years, but becoming clear to us in the postmodern world.
