Over the years we've heard a lot about the Church of Scientology. It's high profile has been bolstered by Hollywood A-listers. But what goes on behind the walls of this religion isn't always glamorous. The church is led by David Miscavige, a man who usually prefers to stay out of the public eye. But now his niece has shone a bright, unwelcome light upon the church and it's behaviour. Jenna Miscavige Hill spent more than 20 years in the church with her uncle. She told her story to Liz Hayes.

Tom Cruise is part of the problem. Not only does he know about it all. But he has his whole staff, that are only scientologists. He is very abusive towards them. Treats them like dirt, and they don’t get paid.
Why do you think Katie Holmes had to escape with her daughter. While Tom was out of the country. She got Siri out, before they could indoctrinate her. Very brave.
Also, all of his movies, Scientology is the benefactor of all his residuals that he gets. So Tom and Hollywood are keeping Scientology running. It’s completely disgusting and disturbing. Scientology has always threatened, the police, the courts, the IRS, and Gov.
Let’s hope, with all these people leaving, and Danny Masterson being put away in prison. That this will finally start turning the tide. Where they cannot avoid the abuses any longer. Vengeance is near. Let’s hope it’s sooner than later.

Jenna’s book was amazing. I’ve listened to it twice. I cannot fathom how Scientology is legal and considered religion. It’s terrifying.

Control and unchecked abuse. Imagine how compliant you would be if your children were in someone's care. You will do anything. Plus, who are the children gonna complain to when they're used as labor or mistreated? Not Mom and Dad. They aren't hovering anywhere nearby. So you can pretty much guarantee anything was happening to those kids because the cult doesn't believe in calling the law either surprised scores of kids aren't missing or dead.

I read the head of the cult, Miscavige, has had 27 attempted servings of lawsuits but somehow cannot be located. Watching some scientology documentaries, he allegedly physically assaulted staff..bashing, kicking etc. TF. Short man syndrome maybe. Really makes one wonder what happened to his missing wife.

I watched Alyson Mack growing up in her acting. Seeing the potential..and although she could have been brainwashed I'm tired of hearing that females are only victims...some are some aren't...then the guy about acting ... Tom Cruise is an actor. The FBI were looking at doing a raid and a human trafficking charge, but they changed their mind when they realised the difficulty of making a case when all the victims they freed were likely to say "oh no, we wanted to be there" because they are brainwashed to not get the organisation into trouble

one thing that blows my mind: the legal system's lack of interest/action to protect those people from those "billion year contracts"? i mean, seriously...how in the name of all things holy and un-holy are those "billion year contracts" even legitimate? you'd think that any lawyer or judge who has any shred of common sense (or morals or integrity) would be talking about how illegal those contracts are. but then, it shows just how powerful the almighty dollar is.
In most states any "contract" signed by a minor is invalid and unenfoceable.

As someone that has been locked in a basement at scientology I can actually vouch for the actions of these.. everything his niece is saying is very true. She's lucky if she didn't get sent the compound. But she was his neice.
What a courageous and strong woman!! I am blown away by her honesty and straightforwardness. She deserves only the highest respect and a life of loving people around her to care for her. She and her husband have freed themselves and are now making it possible for others to do the same, and not even get sucked into this sick cult. Thankyou so much!!!

everything she says is true. I was one of those kids back in 98' at the Quality Inn at Florida and its amazing how the goverment is in it...all the police in Clearwater treats them like angels....its very hard to leave once you are in

@@notimetodienttd1115Cops receive large donations from Scientology plus individual police have their pockets lined with "overtime" to work as security for them (a common arrangement where private organisations pay the departments huge rates for police to work as private security outside of their normal shift hours).
The individual cops know what side their bread is buttered on and it's also solidified through the department hierarchy via donations and fees - just for good measure.
20 years ago I had a friend who harbored a friend of hers who left the church of Scientology. The woman was 20 or 21 years old, an adult, whose parents raised her in the religion. The church essentially sent thugs to track her down and take her to a rehabilitation camp. These huge intimidating guys showed up at my friend's door repeatedly, telling her they know she was lying, sitting out in the parking lot of her condo, etc. She finally answered the door one day with her 9mm in hand and told them to never, ever come back or they and the church would be part of a massive news story. Her friend running from the church was scared, didn't want her to call the cops because that would start a trail and the church would know where she was. That's how bad things can get.

I read a lot of L.Ron Hubbard sci-fi when I was a teen in the 80s. I enjoyed them. I only found out about the church much later on in life. One of his own lines on religion always stuck with me... "the best way to get rich is to start a religion" (or words to that effect)... That just makes me take the whole thing as a scam.
Miscaviage is NOT the founder, he is just the creepy guru that took over at some point.
This isn't sudden. The press didn't reveal this. Her book came out in 2013 and I've been very frustrated that nobody has taken it seriously. She waited 10 years for people to say "wow, she's telling the truth."

He even write about how to start a cult religion in a previous book. Nobody took note, so he did it.
I took a free personality test at the Church of Scientology office in Vancouver 1980, and answered all the 'moral dilema' questions as Jesus would have answered. After they had looked at the results, they said I had done pretty good, but still needed to take some expensive courses they offered to better myself. Even Jesus needs their help.

Science is still a religion, a dogmatic cult. Science can’t explain many things including how people can know things that they apparently can’t possibly know. Science is easily corrupted via industry bias due to its lack of transparency and funding platforms. Both religion and science are cults of belief, that rarely work in synchronisation. Both are vehicles for laundering money. They are 2 sides of the same coin.

I was an extern at a dental office owned by a Scientologist Doctor. Come to find out. Everyone that got hired there were encouraged to convert to Scientology. I’m Christian and that office felt like I was around dead people walking it was frightening. I ended up leaving and doing my externship at another office.

There are a lot of dentists and chiropractors in Scientology. Scientology owns a company called WISE that works with a lot of dentists and chiropractors offices around the country. Not sure why those fields in particular.

I'm particularly struck by her explanation of how hard it is for the members who are fully invested in this indoctrination to leave. To experience their world crumbling down around them is similar to how all cult members or religious people might feel after leaving. You try to avoid it. It happened to me when I discarded my religious indoctrination too. But because it's hard to do, I don't expect anyone reading this to leave or a mass exodus from cults or religions. But if you do, you're free from it. You can shed its flaws. You can live. Free at last.

@@alisamodin9032 Thank you. I am doing well and enjoying life better now. But it's still hard to see others who may be suffering, sometimes in silence or alone, and don't feel free, especially with family and friends who don't quite understand.
Good religions lighten our mental and emotional burdens, which in turn give a feeling of greater freedom.
@@marih3286 That's neither always true nor true for everyone. And after trying my best in what you might call a "good" religion, it wasn't true for me. Even generally speaking, I think all "good religions" have too many flaws for most people. Sometimes you don't know what burdens you carry. Or what freedom still might exist for you. Too many variables to mention.
Any organization that keeps parents from their children is evil..why would parents go along with that???

I’ve heard dozens of stories, just like hers and Scientology says they’re all lying. Damage control really isn’t Scientology’s strong suit.
David Miscavage's own father also wrote a "tell all" book, about how really evil his son was and is. He too was banded, and escaped from the compound. Thank you so.

I was fortunate enough to read Jenna Miscaviage’s book years ago (around 2015 I believe). I really knew next to nothing about Scientology. Her book is a must read because it details her entire life story in this cult and even having no parents because of it.

Just to clear up a confusion: the "occult" deals with supernatural beliefs, and communication with the deceased. Also used to describe the practices of Wicca, such as casting spells, etc. There are many ways of joining the occult, but it's not one single group.
A "cult" is a group of people living under the tyranny of one high leader who makes unreasonable demands, and the members will do or sacrifice ANYTHING for that leader.
