i love these favorites videos when they come from you, it takes on real meaning to me thank you its nice to see what survives in the next version whenever you post it happy to see the shavemac knot still made the list this time around i was hoping to see it make the list again because it was something that may still be readily available, sadly not so for the gorgeous handle
Hey Paul, I really enjoy your videos. Very well thought out and detailed explanations of everything. I was wondering if you've had a chance to try out the Vie Long 75th Anniversary brush?
Hello Paul, great video! Have you noticed that your Neep extra dense silvertip brush tends to shed a bit more than any of your other top favorites? The knots he uses seem to be very sensitive and prone to shedding, regardless of proper brush cleaning and maintenance? Nonetheless the knots feel very soft and luxurious.
Joseph, I have not had too much shedding with mine, but since I have so many brushes, it doesn't get heavy usage. I know that Rod recommends not swirling the brush while lathering, so it may be a bit more delicate than others.
Elephantricity I think if you are coming from the Omega Boar brushes. You probably like some good backbone. I would definitely go with a bulb shaped Badger knot. I really love the Savile Row brushes, but if you like Boar brushes you may find them lacking the backbone that you are accustomed to. I would recommend a two band Thater 4125 bulb. I have never used the Paladin, but my understanding is they use the M&F Blonde Badger Two band knots. I do have a M&F with that knot and if the Paladin has that knot it would be a good choice as well.

Thanks. It's always fun to do these videos.
Thank you for sharing your fav brushes and razors. Great video. Love that Thater 2-band
Thanks. That Thater two band is really good bang for the buck.
Thanks Paul! Very interesting to hear what you liked and why.
Thanks. I really like to watch these videos when other guys do them as well.
I want one of those silvertip Chubbies so bad. such a hard brush to find though
It is Simpson's best knot IMHO.

I have not, but if it is as good as the Lord Randal it is pretty awesome.

Have you tried the Stephens woodworking brushes from Straight Razor Designs?
I have not. There are so many good brushes out there, it's impossible to have all of them.
I come from an omega boar background so I like a bit of loft and backbone. What would you recommend? Savile Row? Paladin?
