This is one of my favourite videos you have ever put out. Beautiful display peice using a miryad of techniques and materials and it never ceases to amaze me how you just pull out some random greeblies seemly at random and without bairley paying attention and yet they just magically fit together like magic and just instantly look right. I always really enjoy your editing and choice of music in your videos just as much as the thing you're building aswel, moreso than almost any other channel im subscribed to here on youtube. Whoever edits the videos is really good at it and your skill Brian for building star wars wall displays seems like you were born for it lol.
Great episode. first off love the look of the light saber it self, Dennis is truly a master craftsman. The light saber display stand build is a work of art as well, its absolutely beautifully done. So Mr. Thompson this build hit the mark of excellence once again.
Wow!! That is an amazing display. The possibilities are endless with scrap materials and fabricated/etched acrylic. Very nice adaptation from table/desktop display to a wall mount. The laser cut design patterns are very cool. The backlighting grabs just right amount of attention. Fantastic build Brian.
I listen to your podcast too. I have really noticed in the last few episodes that you seem more at ease and like you found your joy again. I have found myself really engaging and enjoying your recent content more as well. That's what made me notice it. Then I connected it with changes you've shared on your podcast. I'm happy to see you enjoying things.
Thank you so much! For watching and for listening to our podcast yes, but more for sharing this feedback. The last year has been a challenge for us, but we have certainly felt that we found our stride again. Thank you so much for sticking with us!
Wait! What!? A threaded film canister? I’ve shot thousands of rolls of film, and sold tens of thousands more, and don’t remember ever seeing threaded plastic canisters. Metal canisters? Yes. But never plastic. You’ve blown my mind. I love every bit of this build. Great find with the ‘router’ base thingy. The saber is awesome as well. One day I hope to be good enough (re: rich enough) to own my own lightsaber. Now I’m equipped with more inspiration to (very slowly) build more things from nothing.
It looks perfect! I really like how it looks like it would fit the bulkhead of your smuggler’s ship you’re building for your room build too! It matches the aesthetics so well!
Exquisite! Truly beautiful in both design and execution. I've got an electronic dartboard with a similar plastic housing that I've been looking to update / enhance with a SW aesthetic, and do believe I've just gotten some design cues from this project to finally get things moving!
It's so nice to see Dennis finally putting his skills to the test and making the lightsabers that we knew he could make. Such a great tribute to his work. And what a lovely lightsaber display as well. I love how you took the rope lights and then covered all of it up with the black cover, nice finishing touch. Thanks for video!
Love the saber. The display is awesome. I was thinking from the beginning that there was no way that should go flat at that size. Perfect for the wall mount. Great work as always, and I'll have to check out the saber designer
The best part about your videos, Brian, is how you put yourself into the mindset of a Lucasfilm designer to see what they may do on a set of a Star Wars film or series. So good Brother. Fist bumps from Canada :) But I thought for sure you may light up the orange button as well?
Just a thought, I was thinking you could wire the orange button to light up when someone removes the light saber from the stand. The addition of a warning buzzer with the orange flashing light would work as well to add a little fun effect to the build.
I was just yesterday thinking I wanted to get a replica Youngling-slayer 9000 & display it in a cool way. It's like you read my mind! Thanks for the idea!
I struggled with that, I originally planned to weather it, but I really loved how it turned out so I just decided to keep it clean. But it was a struggle 🤣
His Saber is badass and you did a masterful job at showing it off. There were several times during this vid that I watched closely or nodded in total agreement. I think those halo/neon LED strips might be something I'll be keeping my eyes on for my own builds. Nice job!
THank you! The backlight is all from that same flexible LED that we used around the center circle. I just wove it around the grill and it lit very nicely.
Even though I'm a Star Trek guy and I've built a TOS themed workstation, I still dabble with Star Wars, and at the moment I'm considering a Star Wars themed workstation for my computer classroom, complete with display areas for my models etc. I'm considering a wrap around unit to minimise floor space, with a straight section against the wall on my left (containing a piano keyboard under a lift-up desktop), the Lenovo PC standing on front of me as I face my classes, and a small area to my left for additional workspace when marking papers, lesson planning etc. I'm thinking of something loosely based on the computer station in the Death Star Detention area, but with the outer uprights being glass display areas. My Lightsaber and blaster displays will be worked into the whole design. What do you think?@@TheSmugglersRoom
I would say you could put it in a little box kind of like you know, one of those little fire alarm deals, and have the saying in huttese “ break in case of Sith”
Yeah, you bet. The light is just a strip, here’s the link: (these are our amazon affiliate links) www.amazon.com/dp/B09YMG2PVW/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_YQCDTQAKKG69WAJMGCAH?linkCode=ml2&tag=thesmuggler0a-20 The hardware comes in this pack: amzn.to/3SNL2zc
Did I miss the "change" where no light was put behind the Amber Industrial pushbutton lamp (atop the infamous threaded film canister)? Still, mighty fine project, sir . Thank you for sharing.
no, you sure didn't. I ran a little behind and sadly didn't get a chance to add it for the build. But I certainly will in the future. Thanks for watching.
Gr8 video. Now with it being the 60th anniversary of Dr Who on the 23rd Nov. How about a suggestion . A Dr /wars crossover. How about building a sonic screwdriver that could work in both worlds. Heck even a sonic saber
Rig up a Lightsaber as a wall light with an on/off dimmer switch or motion sensor. Mount it near a door or above a door frame like in a theater room cause I don't think I have seen that yet unless I haven't gone thru all of your videos.
@@TheSmugglersRoom project???? Lol. I have two Westar-35 blaster pistols and a Skorpion TK Blaster Rifle that I'm going to eventually retire and give homes on the wall. But I also have a DLT-19x (sniper version) that I don't carry when doing cosplay just bc it's so big and I'm a Mando Medic.
Damn bro ! I love this one ! What an incredible display to hold a legendary black market outpost saber !
Thank you bro!!!
This is an amazing build showing me, that a Laser-Cutter is a helpful tool.
Fantastic! Glad you liked it!
Sweet job. Well done.
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful!! Makes it easy to grab and play with too… you know, for training ;)
Yes it does!
Dennis does awesome work. You did it justice with the display build!
Thanks a bunch!
Great video, great concept, and great execution (as usual).
Wow, thanks man! Very much appreciated!
Thumbnail. There is a display lit up. Now add a quiet motor to rotate the glass looking back. :) 09:56 That part. Good build. Bigger then I thought.
Very interesting idea for sure. Thank you for watching!

wow! I can't tell you how much that means to both myself and my wife Carissa. Truly, thank you for the kind words. This really keeps us motivated!
Great build! That's a proper way to display such an awesome saber!
Thank you good sir!

An elegant display for a more civilized weapon 👏👏 Awesome video full of inspiration
Thank you!!!!
Another great build!! Would be a perfect addition to any Star Wars room. The saber is a thing of beauty as well. Good work Black Market Outpost!!!
Thank you so much Jason!
Wow, this is amazing! I’m going to have to make a display for my lightsaber now lol 😆
So glad you liked it.
Outstanding work-the lighting really sells it

Awesome build. I've wanted to build a display/recharge station for my saber a long time. You have given me inspiration, thank you.
Glad I could help! Can't wait to see what you do!
Wow amazing results using found parts and acrylic love it
Thank you! Cheers!
A really good trick is to have the light strip shining down the polished edge of the acrylic. The lines glow.
Yep, totally. Edge lighting is a fantastic way to do that. It wasn’t really possible with this build, but great tip.
Dude, I love seeing your ability to transform simple things into incredible masterpieces. Great work and great video, as always!
wow, thank you so much for the kind words.

God I love this! It looks soooo good! The center-piece really is the cherry on top!
Thank you so much!

Nice work my friend!!! Love the use of found parts too!! What a great way to display the saber from Dennis!
Thank you bro!
Awesome build great job as always. I am surprised that you didn't do a weathering job on the display, but awesome job regardless.

So cool! The round shiny thingy reminds me of the astral maps in Ahsoka, did you take any inspiration from that?
Thank you! You are the first person to comment about Ahsoka, it was 100% the inspiration for that design!
that really looks awesome. Have to remodel mine now lol

Can you link where you get your LEDs and such? If they have more bulk options or if there are kits for smaller builds? Thanks
Also, if there’s an assorted screws pack you can find? Amazon etc? Can’t find any, thanksss

The saber looks like it's just part of the background. Your base should never outshine that which it is displaying.
I actually don't think so, i think it looks pretty cohesive, looks right to me. Thanks for watching.
Time to replace that acrylic with a round display. Something like what they use on some AIO cpu coolers these days.
