- Buster has to tell Dad some sort of story EVERYDAY! Today he was extra excited because his brother and sister were in town for the weekend. He really misses them and he had to be extra with his story telling.

Cockatoos are very dramatic! My friend had one that liked to play fetch with a small rubber ball & my mom. He’d come running back to her with it with wings outstretched & head bobbing! He didn’t fly back, he ran to her.

@@vickilawrence7207 I am not sure what was he thinking at that moment, maybe it was just that he wanted attention so he was speaking all the phrases he knows. Although parrots are intelligent enough to understand context of some stuff. Anyway cockatoo banters are probably funniest of them all, other parrots talk with context, cockatoos - tantrum ;)
He has Soul, Character, Comedy, a big Heart, Loves Attention and is a very typical Cockatoo!!

Honestly he probably learned this from hearing his human mom talking on the phone or possibly arguing with various people. He's also in a heightened state. Umbrella cockatoos are notoriously aggressive and talking in birds is sometimes a display of dominance and aggression. It can mean, "I love you," or "I hate you." He could also be doing it to intimidate his human dad.

I used to go in this pet store to visit their red-bone hound puppy. They had a great big parrot who wasn't caged. They also had two Himalayan kitties. The parrot would call them very sweetly: "Here kitty kitty kitty...here kitty kitty!" several times. This terrified the cats, it sounded and looked very evil...after he did that he would start looking at them intensely for a few moments and they were just petrified staring back at him. Then he'd break into this loud maniacal cackling and laughter...by this time the cats were at the other end of the store hiding under the dogs bed.
Thank you sir for speaking up.. I go through the same experience when I go to a garage sale in Florida.. this must stop. You are paving the way for others
