I think Midnight Club 3's promotion with DUB was possibly the most successful word of mouth campaign I've ever seen. So many of my friends that were into cars got into Midnight Club because DUB magazine gave out demos and showed articles. I have no doubt that it sold playstations as well.
I'd also argue the opposite was true; I had no interest in cars and car magazines like DUB until I played Midnight Club 3. now I love cars!!
Joke's on you, I've played them all. Even the handheld versions of 1, 3 and L.A.

they're prob not gonna go back to midnight club tbh. they've fleshed out the racing and vehicle customization and city layouts so much with gta5 it seems kinda unnecessary to make a whole other game and license a whole new catalog of music, develop another realistic depiction of a city when they already have a massive licensed music catalog, they already have the big realistic city and the customization and everything so why do all that again and license real car brands on top of that for a franchise that historically doesnt pull in as much revenue as the other IPs and still has to compete with the 45 other racing games out there. i'd love for them to go back to it but from a business perspective it doesnt make any sense. i'd love for them to at least remaster the older games tho
super cool info here. i loved la remix. I used to play it under blankets on my psp because the brightness of the screen was so bad lol. After I finished the video I noticed the views were so low. I'm sure you'll pop off soon, don't be discouraged.

@@r3uvsgaming when making MC: LA , developers kept in mind that the map and assets will be used for GTA 5 ( they already confirmed that the racing mechanics are copy pasted from MC:LA to GTA 5 )

id arguably say that need for speed never had consistency in there franchise, we had 2 hot pursuits before we had underground, then 2 undergrounds before Most wanted etc..., I think there consistency relies on trying something different

Midnight Club is the only racing game I come back to between 3 and LA cause I grew up with those 2 and from the cars to the difficulty it’s all so perfected there’s only minor flaws that hardly kill the experience for me

The title is there for people born after 2000, nearly all of which have never heard of this game, and even some indie games are more well known than midnight club nowadays… and the thumbnail is there for people born before 2000 so they can know what series is being covered in case they did play it.

Pretty sure DUB was involved with MCLA as well, considering the heavy use of the DUB branding in-game.
I just played through Midnight Club again just now, been about 20 years since I last played it. It's still very fun, oh my god the physics can be janky af with some cars though, haha.

Sorry 3 was a disappointment trading crazy and civilian squashing for licensed cars and limited customization. If you’ve only played the PS2 versions you’ve missed out on the performance and image quality improvements of the Xbox versions (similar to the GTA Xbox version superiority). Another advantage of the Xbox versions? Custom soundtracks so you could listen to good music. Yes, Midnight Club 3’s music is atrocious if my previous statement wasn’t clear 😛
As a 2000s racing fan Nfs heat is the by far the worst nfs I wish rockstar would remaster some of the midnight club and just don't do what EA has done to Nfs over the years
I agree that NFS has really fell off but heat is your least favorite? That’s crazy but I respect it… I know it is still a pretty polarizing game that did not start getting love until years after release.
