- If you told me 3 months ago I was going to actually enjoy Survivor 45 I would have laughed you out of the room. Several months ago I released everything wrong with modern Survivor, a video you probably have seen. This was me airing my frustration out, no longer able to hide that the show that got me through my mid teen years simply wasn’t what it was now…And oh boy look at where we are now. Is Survivor 45 perfect? No. Definitely not after this latest episode and I do also plan to bring up issues about Survivor 45 in a future video after the season. It can be also argued I’m jumping the gun by praising Survivor 45 only 4 episodes in. We all know, when it comes to new twists, the Survivor producers have a tendency of uh, cough shooting themselves in the foot. But it would be remiss of me to not actually pat production on the back for changes they clearly made following fan backlash after trying to pretend the criticism wasn’t valid for the past 2 years...

"Survivor" is a popular reality television show that has been captivating audiences around the world for many years. Does anyone remember when we were told if we complained during Season 41, 42, 43 and 44 that we should stop watching the show instead of being negative? Where are those people now? oh right. Praising the show for changes people argued for.
No. They just found different things to bitch about. Like the cast and the 90 minute episodes.
3 out of 4 people quit so far? The least attractive cast ever, same Fiji beaches again. Don’t praise the season yet. Emily and Kaleb are great characters though

@@Ryan_Tiziano I don’t know too much context but “ready to go” isn’t the same as quitting in my books. I feel like if I had no food and no fire for days, I would be close to “ready to go” also
Survivor 45 is by far my favourite season of the new era, which shows that boot order and quits don't matter as much as the actual content of an episode : waaayyyy less twists, less cringey Jeff moments, and more charachter development 😍
Yes it looks promising despite half of the cast being very boring.
I think it really is a testament to the fact production can make or break a season. So many people I've talked to (myself included) have said if the cast of Survivor 44 played in less wacky season like David vs Goliath then the cast would have been better received

@@BanditSurvivorContent DVG had a much much better cast. It was Lynn Spillman’s work. Come on: Angelina, Christian, Natalia, Nathalie Cole.. They didn’t have the casting disaster that is Jesse Tanenbaum who is casting the new era 🤢

I just wanted to say thank you Bandit for all the work you do in trying to fight against twists that pressure a lot of the female contestants into often being pre-merge boots. We respect our Irish king constantly speaking out about how it is not okay ♥️

You know? I kinda feel like a crazy person. I thoroughly enjoyed 41-44 and never noticed any of these problems.
But I do acknowledge 45 is already stellar, I think the longer episodes and stronger narratives are really doing wonders

I think it was Peridiam that said after every big all stars season, survivor goes through an awkward transition like a kid going through puberty, trying weird twists to see what works. Well I feel like the current puberty stage of 41-44 is over and the producers know what they're doing finally

Yea Vanuatu was received pretty poorly at the time. Nicaragua and Gabon are wacky seasons and HHH has its flaws. I would liken this type of Survivor to Survivor 21-24 in where Survivor are trying new things but it, in hindsight, contains many decisions that don't entirely benefit the franchise.
Casting just needs to do better really.

@@Ryan_Tiziano Sab is the only 1 of the 4 people voted out of the game who truly seemed like she wanted to be there. While the other 2 are quitters. And Brandon while not a quitter, had no real place there. A super fan yes, but so bad at the game. Casting is focusing so hard on diversity to a point where cast there are casting some people who really are not there to play hard. But more just to share their story.
Yeah I bring this up in the video talking about my thoughts on Survivor 45 before. Jeff even called Hannah's quit disappointing. I think it the fault of production to a certain degree pushing the "it's all about the journey!" narrative. Cast members have been so pushed to think the experience is worth more than the million so when they feel like they've found their calling through Survivor there isn't as much of a reason to be there. Hence the Sean and Hannah quits.
It’s not like 36 or 38 had great casts either, but yeah we need more diverse game players. Literally everyone in 41 wanted to play the exact same game except for Shan
As for the attractive people thing, I don’t really care I’ve never found anyone on survivor attractive and even then I wouldn’t call anyone in the new era ugly

As positive as the changes have been so far, it has to be said that this is a Caramoan or Ghost Island-level cast. It's a more enjoyable viewing experience overall, but I'm having trouble connecting with anybody besides Emily, maybe Kaleb, exacerbated by the fact that we've basically already had two quitters. Put this format with Survivor 44's cast and it's a guaranteed home run.
But it is still early, and the format is actually here to help, not hurt, the overall direction of the show. Cautious optimism!
I think this episode (episode 5) definitely helped give us some down time with the contestants coming into the merge. Hopefully the cast will prove themselves a lot more now that the people that didn't seem too well suited for the game got eliminated

If I like something I'll be positive about it. I was so negative over Survivor 43 and 44 because I wasn't hugely fond of the seasons and I can't fake my personality to be positive about something I have lots of issues about.

Emily is in the middle of Austin and Drew and Brando and Kendra, now quick question who the fuck are Brando and Kendra they’ve gotten so little content compared to the Reba duo actively trying to work with Emily
I’m very optimistic about the season, I just hope we’re done with the quits, I love Drew, Dee, Bruce, Katurah, Emily, Kaleb Jake, and Kellie and everyone else is just kinda there

I still find it funny and interesting how the dynamics of the game play with all the quitters.
Yeah the two quits harmed otherwise very good episodes. Although from a production standpoint this season has been very strong just some casting options let them down
I think the dynamics are just far more interesting. Its not person 1 v person 2 on the bottom going. Theres a lot more complexity and we understand thought processes a lot more.

As someone who has Survivor fomo, quits piss me the f off. Can't casting do a better job to find dedicated players? 🤷

No. Get mentally and strong people that have competed in there life. 3 of the first 4 out were quitters. Jeff was even mad.

While I love the twists and longer episodes, I am finding this to be the weakest season of the new era because other than Emily and Kaleb, this cast sucks. 41-44 gave us some of the best characters the show has ever seen. This season, we have the most generic Survivor players on the planet.
It's still important to remember we've only just finished the pre-merge. Contestants like Jesse, Ricard, Xander, Maryanne, Carolyn ect. Didn't really hit their peak until merge.

It's ironic because I was nervous seeing the trailer for Survivor 45 but so far the episodes have got me back on side
Jeff and the whole show is woke. Quitters. Yes, Some of the contestants are great. They are not obsessed with rave or gender, but they brought in weak people. Overall. Mental and physically. Suggest a few to camping before they go in survivor.
