I managed to adopt a Glen through Petfinder. I had no idea what type of dog she was, when I saw her profile, she was just a very cute 1 yr old old "scruffy" thing. (She was listed as a Yorky/dachshund.) At first I thought she was a Norfolk terrier, but then she kept growing, eventually (by 7 yrs old) she was 26 pounds. After doing a lot of research online, her characteristics were clearly those of a breed I'd never heard of, the Glen of Amaal! A lost little pup found by someone on a country road in Alabama became my beloved "Lucy"❣️
I had one years ago she was very friendly affectionately tough and playful she was a grey coated imaal terrier she passed away aged about 17-18yrs old she got on well with the other dog I had who was bigger than her would love another but they are soo rare and some people may try selling you a similar looking dog that's not an imaal.i miss her she was the first dog I had when I moved into my first home.its such a shame they are so rare they are great pets and companions
We rescued a little terrier with no idea what breed she was but looking at these photos they are her to a T and she is the sweetest little character but mischievous lol
