I have a 7 month old Jack, also have a 15yr old Shih tzu & a 15yr old ragdoll. It was fine when he was really small, the cat would play with him all the time. But my dog couldn’t tolerate him, still can’t. I love him to pieces but i am concerned that he’s getting a bit aggressive.

You can always tell a Jack Russell owner…one arm is longer than the other….i have had 4 Jacks in my lifetime…my current and last one is actually called Jack…a rescue dog…he has soooo much charm and personality that I honestly…and I don’t think I am alone here…think this one is an ex human…seriously he knows what I am saying I talk to him as if he’s a human he gets me out of bed at the same time every morning…tells me when he wants to go for a walk at the same time every day…if I say to my wife…shall we have a takeout..he sits in the window watching out for the delivery even though we just casually discussing Chinese…Indian..pizza etc…he follows me everywhere…he is amazing little man and I love him to bits…😊

All very true for my boy. He's a snuggler, but only when he wants. I get booted if he doesn't want to be touched 😅 or he'll grunt. I ask if he wants cuddles, he'll step back if ge doesn't. He likes swimming, though, we had early intros to it as we live by the ocean. He's very jealous, aloof with strangers. They listen... in the end. He is the love of my life ❤

I was asked by kin folks if I wanted a dropped off puppy, and they sent a pic of it. It had the Jack Russell markings and head and ear configuration, and looked about the right size, or so I thought, at about 6 weeks old. He was a good looking puppy, so I said yes. Nine months later he weighs 50 pounds, or so and still has the right markings, but with some pit bull characteristics. He is long and kind of lean, with a big head, broad chest, and well defined musculature. When he gets those "zoomies", it looks like he might could run about 35 to 40 mph, without much trouble. He may have a little Greyhound in him, with the slim abdomen. He is not real bad about digging, but he can dig a pretty good hole when he does. He does like to steal and chew on anything. He actually stole the dipstick out of my lawn mower, and chewed part of it up and chewed the wires off of my trailer light hook up on my truck. He is quite a pain in the butt, at times, and I have been highly POed at him. He is, however, a great watch dog, and he is affectionate, which, with his size, he gets a little rough with it. He is comical too, and we can't help but love him. I just hope he grows out of the stealing and chewing. I posted this to kind of vent and to let people know a little about Jack/Pit behavior, with this dog anyway. Takes a lot of patience and love, and is worth it if you have both.

I’ve had three PBGV’s and they bring something special to your life. They’re smart, loyal, and very affectionate dogs. Don’t know what my life would be without one.

My parson Russell lived to be 19 years old it got to where he would be able to hold his bowl movements and he had bad cataracts and could hear anymore !! He was such a great dog !!! He's greatly missed !!! The hardest thing I have ever done was taking him in the veterinary hospital and had to put him down !!! I cried like a baby and two years later I still do ??? I will soon go to the pound and look for a new dog that's there if it mixed with parson Russell that needs a home I will be saving it and in return that dog will be saving me too !!! If possible go to the city pound and adapt a dog from there that needs a home !!! There is a lot of great dogs there !! Please adopt from pounds these dogs needs that !!! There is a lot of great dogs there !!! Remember to train your dogs ??? Right !! They're just like a baby ???

Anyone in South Africa with a Parson Terrier?

I love my Kelpie , he is extremely intelligent, needs plenty of exercise or work, is loving, enjoys a cuddle and great with kids. They do need training but once the work is done, the reward is awesome.

Best dog breed I’ve ever had. Labs are great but do not compare to a Chessie.

Mine weighs 85 pounds at 2 years

People read loyal and theyre sold but completely forget how active these dogs are. Theyre smart too but their energy is just too much even for me and I have ADHD. Im not exeggarating, this breed never tires out no matter what you do.

My JRT of fifteen years is my loyal companion. I always let her have her moment of being a JRT. I am grateful for every day we have.

Uk staffs are v smart dogs that can test u but brought up write lovely sweet excitable soppy dogs idk about american staffs tho id expect they'd be highly intelligent to and fearless to if it got to it staffs will defend with there lives but are not nasty natured dogs otherwise.they shouldn't be at least.&that pbt looks more like an xl🤔
